34 and stopped alcohol 3 years ago. Man I wish I would have been more productive in my 20’s. I wish I would have saved. My life is coming along now! My 30’s are better, but wish I can take back time.
1st off, congratulations! That's a huge win! I feel you on wanting to turn back time, especially because I didn't really grasp the concept of compound interest until the last two to three years. The benefit is you know now, and with the right decisions moving forward you still have plenty of time. NFA, but I put $150 into index funds each week. I know that down the road, that will help me with my future. The other thing I do with the extra time is work to develop new skills to earn more, this gives the effect of actually turning back time. I hope this helps, and I'm grateful you spent your time watching and leaving your thoughts :)
Number 4 really resonates with me. You’re absolutely correct. You find out who truly supports you when you’re trying to do something positive. On the other hand when it’s time to hang out and have a great time there is no issues in finding those who support you… keep up the great work!!
Oh, the things we learn when we have the luxury to look back on it all! I'm happy to have learned it sooner than later, but an extra 20 years would've been awesome
I approve! I cant say i learned anything new from this video. i’ll be 23 in a couple months and i’m thankful my parents instilled all this knowledge in me growing up. 🙏 my only problem now is its been hard finding like-minded people my age. all my friends are older 😅
I'm glad you watched and happy to hear you were raised right. That older crew is likely the best fit for you. I find I'm the same. My tip, ask them questions so you can avoid as many pitfalls as possible. Thanks for spending your time with me on this video.
I definitely got into silly, dangerous situations when I was younger & drinking. I don't drink at all now. I brought meditation into my life a long time ago and I have recently started working on my diet & health. All 5 things mentioned resonated with me. Ty for this. I really enjoyed it.
I bet you'd agree with this. At the time, we thought we were invincible. Now, looking back, you wonder how you made it through. Before I quit drinking, I was meditating in the mornings, and your comment put that back in the front of my mind. In the morning, I spend a little time reflecting on when things seemed to be going good and what I was doing and also the opposite. We have a lot to learn from each other. I appreciate you spending some time with me 😁
That's a bummer, I'm out in New Orleans a few times a year. Usually working at the hilton or convention center. I usually walk around there, but I completely get it. I was in Pittsburgh about a month ago and ended up in the wrong neighborhood real quick.
thank you, i've always dreamed of studying/living in Europe, spent my whole life learning English/building CV and now at 33 i'm in Germany, doing PhD. Damn, the progress is so slow, you only see the benefits after 10+ plus of grinding. OMG
Now that's a serious journey! 10+ years of showing up is amazing. Awesome you made it to Europe, I hope it's everything you thought it world be and more! Thanks for sharing
My family told me to have fun and live life in my 20s and not work so hard or focus on money. So it's got to be a scheduled life if I'm going to have fun while working on my self and do my career.
@sebastiancorrales my best advice for you is while you have fun in your 20s don't spend all your money. Set a flat amount and put it into something that gains interest. 20 years will pass in a flash. If you do this you will thank yourself then. I promise! Thanks for watching
Joe, thank you for checking in with me and watching. I hope you got some value from this. I'm planning on diving deeper on these topics in future videos. See you soon 💪🏾
Good advice, but even though it bears repeating it's a bit common. I think a lot of us hear this same advice from our elders as we grow up. In my opinion, the issue is that most of us won't appreciate the real weight behind these otherwise simple ideas until we experience these things firsthand.
@nobleape9281 I agree, I have found that if I have some context to go along with the situation it makes it a bit easier to handle. I call it the home depot effect. No matter how much I don't need the tool right now, somehow some way it will help me in the future. I appreciate you watching, and taking the time to leave a comment. Have a great one
Learn. Id like to add something. Dont just get a skill or high paying skill. Invest in something with large returns like high yield dividend etfs. Include index etfs like VOO or SPLG to support the dividend etfs and stay disciplined diversifying and reinvesting every dollar not needed for expenses and your financial freedom should be less than 10 years away.
@bryanfaucett absolutely correct! This is one of the things I was recently exposed to over the last few years on investing. I think of all the money I blew and how it could literally be working for me right now! I've started on that path :) Thank you so much for watching and your valuable comment
@@BrandonAlexanderWalks I did and the information and experiences you share are on point. I wish I had someone telling me something like that over 20 years ago. Be blessed. Auf Wiedersehen :)
Watching this at 28. Recently quit smoking MJ and wish I never started, it held me back in so many ways for the past 5 years. Number 4 is so important. Our parents always knew which friends were good for us and those who were not, though it’s hard to understand when you’re young. Keep up the positive message 🤙🏼
@unplugged301 this hits hard. If you recently quit, keep the reason in your mind. You are so valuable, and once you meet the real you, I promise you'll be amazed. If we only understood at the time our parents went through the same thing we were at the time. I thank my mom all the time, for when I thought she was being tough on me. I wish you success, sometimes not participating gives a lonely feeling, but you gotta take care of you. I appreciate you watching and spending your time with me.
We LEARN from our mistakes and now you’re the wiser. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way and that’s totally fine! I can’t tell you enough how much hardships, failures and mistakes have helped me to have better control of my mind knowing what it used to be like when taking in those substances. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks, all smiles over here, I'm healthy and psyched to start each day I'm blessed to wake up :) I appreciate you watching and also taking the time to leave some words 🙏🏽

I think you are spot on with those two. I've been extremely fortunate to have traveled a lot in my young years. I learned from you today, and I appreciate you leaving this comment. I certainly do not have all of the answers and I love the opportunity to see things from others perspective. To be honest, I just, like today posted a video about how to stay married. As of today I've been with my wife for 19 years. Not something I take for granted, considering the current dating arena. We met before apps, life was so much simpler. Thank you very much for watching
I wouldn't feel right telling people they should do a certain thing. However, ask yourself this question, what is it about drinking once a month that makes your life better? I had an interesting thought one day that changed my perspective on consuming alcohol. I asked myself, "Have I ever had a 100% positive experience while consuming alcohol?" I could never come up with a yes. No matter how I sliced it. Even if it was the most fun night ever, it still made my body work harder than it needed to, to filter out the poison that it is. That in itself helped me make my decision. I hope that helps, and I also hope to hear from you again here. Thanks for your time!
