I tried the fenix 7 solar the fenix 7 sapphire solar and coros vertex 2 and fenix 7x before I made .y choice on the garmin epix gen 2 16 days is more then enough battery for wut I need it for I absolutely love it

Thanks... Interesting, I thought I saw OSM maps in your map manager, before you showed the Garmin Topo Active maps... I guess it I'm in the UK and my Garmin maps are different to yours... and that's what I saw...

I have 11 third party OSM maps on my Fenix 7x solor Sapphire.... Including custom transparent contour and trails maps to overlay on other maps, the watches are so versatile,I even have custom map themes, I run a Facebook group with over 13,000 garmin members, and moderate a few others.. I'm really into Garmin watches lol...

Ahah! Yes it does. And more over it is so confortable. I love that band.
I would say that it's what it miss me the most when I test other watches.
But since this one is compatible with the 7X, I will not torture myself with the silicon band. 😂

Unless you need very long lasting batteries, I would say you't go wrong with any of those two. They are both fantastic watch.

exciting and rewarding video. I am considering buying 6 X. because of the appearance with the screws. and then I noticed that it looks better that the whole screen is filled, the solar dial does something to the appearance of the watch, which I thought looks best on the 6X. I can't find out if the plan is to make 7X without solar. and then there is also the savings.
Hi Peter. Yes I also think the previous series look better. But still I would ne replace my actual Tactix 7 for the previous Tactix Delta.
Thanks for covering the keyboard, I broke my phone and was texting with the inreach and it was very painful, this seems to solve that because I can connect my f7xss and type through it just like on my tactix except w/o the pain.
Oh great. I never tried to pair it with my in reach. But if it work it's a great feature.

Isn't there already a shortcut for the flashlight? Double click the light-button and the flashlight turns on.
Ahah. Well you just learn me something. 😂 Yes, double tap on the light button does light up the flash light at full brightness. Thank you for that one. ;)
@@PascalMarquisUnbox you can also set it to turn on at any brightness. It remembers the last setting you used.

Thanks for the review, I got my Fenix 7 yesterday. I have a question, please! does the start/stop button make a clicky sound when pressed? I noticed that pressing it feels a bit different from the other buttons.
Hum I remember some button was maybe a bit weard at the begining when I got my fenix. I would say they all fine now. But yes they are clicky.
Love the reviews man! I Cant deciede if I should go for epix or 7x. I am scared that my wrist is too small for the 7x. My wrist is 18.2cm.

I have 17.9cm wrist and it fits perfectly, I also use the ultrafit band, and I am very happy with this.
Now the feeling is much better than before with the fenix 6 pro and the normal band.
It's much more comfortable now.

Something i noticed around 3:45. It started measuring your heart rate while on the table and not on your hand... Interesting...

Every battery go weaker over time. Garmin make no exception. But they put very good battery inside so this wont happen before a while.

I didn't tried the descend but technically it's about the same thing as the fenix series. I'm just not sure if it has been renew. Is it the 6 or 7 series? hello. i was waching your perfect review and all the time i keep seing that altitude on other 2 waches are 140m on fenix 7x keep 146m. wich is more correct at your location? have fenix 7x improved altitude sensor over thouse 2 ?
It's just a question of calibration.

They all do the same great work.
You have to calibrate it from time to time, especially if your turn it off, as the air pressure will change while it's off.

Ahah. Well, only you know if it worth the money for the use you put on the watch. Of course it's a great upgrade, but the Fenix 6 is still a solid great watch.
I'm very glad to have made that update, but I do test watch for living so that is an easy excuse. 😉
Can I ask what the width of the top of your wrist is? I'm thinking about the Fenix 7X and my wrist is 6.5cm wide but I'm not sure if it'll be too big for me

I have the apple watch 7, but I am so interested in buying the Fenix 7X. I do quite a lot of running and swimming. I don't want to ditch the apple watch though. Can I combine the usage of both watches?
I don't see why you could not. I am not a Apple watch user but I think that once you will have tried Garmin, you wont go back to your Apple Watch. 😉

At 2:55, can you explain what the deal is with the bottom right of the weather screen being cut off? The bottom right where it says “Sunset in 23M” looks like a number that’s cut off. Is that normal? Doesn’t seem right.

The bar is only there for design. It's not a graphic or anything.
Dang! I got the Tactix Delta and now I'm thinking I wanna return it for the 7x lol. I got the ballistics edition for going out on the range and shooting but idk I don't think it's worth the extra price tag seeing as I don't do it much. Maybe 7x more bang for my buck.
Ahah. For sure 7X will be a better option. Especially if you paid the tactix full price.
About for the balistic, this is most likely a military feature.
So I can attest to this. I’ve beat the crap out of my Fenix 5 plus and I work in the industry you’re referring to with shooting, range stuff, etc. I have never had a problem with the 5 plus (sapphire edition). Now if you’d want to wait for the new tactix to see what it will be then that’s also an option (pending if you can get one discounted or not).
I chose to order the Fenix 7x sapphire solar and for the price I paid, I believe it’s the best bang for the buck.
Did your watch come with applied ballistics unlocked? Because if not it’s a 300 dollar unlock fee…..😅

I have the epix and I will say the buttons are trash on it compared to my tactix delta. The clicks are strange and it feels weird. Has anyone else experienced this? Sometimes the buttons double click. I could see the back button getting stuck. Maybe it will get better not sure
@nickage87 my back button seems to be getting worst. It makes strange noises honestly. Only thing I hate about this watch so far. Has me on the fence to just return it. Maybe I’ll exchange but seems like that won’t fix it. I saw others reporting the same issues also. I know the reviewers have to notice this issue. Like for 1000 I expect the buttons to be nice which they have been in the past. They just all feel like super cheap.

How is the health feature compared to the Venu 2 plus ?

@@PascalMarquisUnbox I've been trying to find the best watch for sleep apnea/ sleep quality for like 2 years. My research so far brought me to the Garmin Venu 2 Plus and the Withings ScanWatch . Been looking for a good balance between "smart" and health watch for a while. Just recently looked the garmin a I am a little lost with all the models. The Samsung 4 with stress management was interesting but the lack of constant SPO2 value removed it from my list. I'm still waiting to see the spec of the "google watch" releasing this year. Garmin seem to offer way better sensor up to date because of the sport orientation.
Ahah. Well I have to say the the sleep side of the watch is not what I am looking at the most when I compare watches.
I remember that the Polar Grit X Pro had some great stuff about health, I will eventually do my final review on it.
But in term of Smart Watch forget it.
Now if we come back to Garmin, yes they have a lot of model.
But what I like about them, is that some are focus on some aspect, but when we look at the fenix series, it's almost like if they took everything from the other watch and pack it in a single watch... Almost.
Venu 2 Plus might have more connectivity to your phone.
But I don't think the Venu 2 Plus have anithing more about sleep tracking than the Fenix 7X as they have the same heart rate sensor anyway.
It was a no brainer for me, I was able to get a 20 percent discount on the new Fenix 7 through my health insurance.

Hum. I think it's the default on. At least it's one of the built in one.
I only modify some data fields.
Really well done whatch face in my opinion with a lot of data available without clicking anything.

Yes. They are the same watch in many ways but the screen is very different.

It's the black.
That's pretty slack for the heart rate to take 5 mins to for a true reading when exercising,that is bad,i love the Garmin but the Apple Ultra takes seconds to give you an accurate HR reading,my other Garmins 5 and 6 were just as slow too,Garmin really needs to take notice of this.

7X is better in every way except the button. But I would consider if 6X if you can find it in discount.

If you have tattoo on your watch wearing hand.. don't buy a new garmin, before you try, if the wrist heart rate sensor works first :) otherwise u can end up with "a new and improved" sports watch, which you can wear only on your untattood hand.

Got a new fenix 7x today and now is frozen on maps no fix tried reset nothing works shit experience strait off the back will return and find a different watch
Hi Steve. I think you have been unlucky. Don't forget that it's a very new product. Some updates came out since it was ship from the factory. I would just update it and try again. I never ever got a garmin device that froze... Well, one time my tactix crashed but it reboot with everything in memory.
Any idea how to fix the watch from home ive left the watch overnight and its still on the maps loading screen can turn watch off and on but it reverts strait back to the maps loading ive tried connecting it to garmin online and it wont pick up the watch might have to take it back to where i purchased it which is a real pain in the arse
How and what process to update
Generally update are done automaticly over night. You can force shut down by holding top left button for 15 seconds.
Also connect it on Wi-Fi so your watch become more independant to your phone connection.

Actually I would say it's better than any other watch for my needs... But I also really like the Epix 2.
