Omg i have been waiting for the release of Fenix 7 since early of Year 2021. Now i get to look for more Fenix 7 video to watch although i cant afford one.
Great video Dave! I like that Garmin is giving it's customers choice when it comes to these premium multisport watches. Between the F7 and Epix 2 it really comes down to whether you value battery life over screen quality. Being a Fenix 6 Sapphire user over the last 2+ years, I really love the user experience Garmin has given me. I wear the F6 24x7 to get my sleep tracking, stress, steps, etc, and hate taking it off to charge. Eventhough I don't run Ultras, I still run outside 6 to 7 days a week which eats up a lot of battery life. Even if you are not running long mulitday events I still think the battery life of the new F7X is amazing. My current F6 has to be charged usually every 4 days which is annoying to me coming from a Suunto Ambit 2 which I could go without charging for roughly 3 weeks. As the battery ages in these watches they lose a little bit of their full capacity as well. Not having to charge the F7X for close to a month is amazing and something I would highly value vs an AMOLED screen. Other people won't care and just plug it in every week. I think people think in terms of battery life being able to record a single long activity and say "why do I need to have that many hours?" But I think for convenience and not having to think about weekly charging is an important feature. Nothing worse then going out for a run and having less than 10% battery life. I have had the F6 die on me during a few activites, which can be frustrating. In my case, I wish I would have purchased the Fenix 6X Sapphire 2 years ago just for a little extra battery life. At this point, its hard to justify spending another $1000 so soon, since I have the F6 Sapphire and it works really well. The new touchscreen is a welcome upgrade and the ability to turn it off when you don't want accidental pauses during activites is huge. Heart rate accuracy doesn't really matter to me as I use a Polar OH1+ with the F6, which I think is more accurate than any current wrist optical HR Sensor. For distance/pace data I use the Stryd Footpod which is more accuate than any GPS for those metrics. The F6 mapping data is good enough for me as far as route accuracy. The flashlight is also a nice touch on the F7X. Also the 7X Sapphire/Solar combo was a great move by Garmin. If it had LTE, like the 945, it would be an even more compelling buy for many people, but not something for me that's absolutely necessary. Thanks again for the nice overview and keep up the great work! I appreciate your channel.
Great review! Nice watch . I opted for the Instinct Solar . At the price it’s imo hard to beat . Yes the Fenix range are astonishing with details. The Instinct is a no frills yet capable device .
@@ChaseTheSummit yes it’s a delight to use . No frills . Rugged, I use it all day , work , hillwalking, camping, hunting. I was going for a Fenix , but reckoned is was too much technical 🤷♂️
About time this has been released! I'm not sure if it's worth the upgrade though, but the touch ability for maps is definitely the one downside for the 6X. I am surprised you have to zoom with the tiny +- buttons instead of pinch in/out. Now time to go watch the Epix video!
Yes, for now there's no pinch zoom. I don't think the digitizer supports multi-touch gestures which may be why. The touch screen is amazing for the maps though!
Awesome new watches from Garmin and an awesome rundown as always. Doubt I’ll be upgrading my 6S Sapphire given those price points anytime soon though. Grabbed it for around $500 during one of the many sales Garmin had over the last year and it does everything I need for now. Maybe in a year or so if these come down a couple hundred it will be time for an upgrade.
Cool video as always. I mean, great content. In your last live video, I was laughing because you were not good about hiding the fact that you already knew about the Fenix 7. 🙂
I keep watching this video even after I bought my 7x solar saphire and while I'm patiently waiting for it to come in the mail. The only thing I was worried about was the size for my wrists but I think it should be fine. Can't wait for it to come!
Solid breakdown!! Sleep modes look really interesting and I’ll probably utilize that. Touch screen looks awesome and cool feature that you can turn it off if you need. Great video dude! 👏
I can't find my stress load settings while playing ping pong. I'll keep looking... :) Good upgrades. I ordered a 7 solar for the huuughe battery life. It might not matter now, but two years from now it will. Great video
Hey. Exactly as you're saying. If it had a microphone and a loudspeaker and an e sim, I would buy the most expensive version immediately. Great job. Greetings.
I would love to justify getting one but all I do is occasionally hiking, indoor cycling and golf. Does sound like you get your money's worth though if you are very active. Great review!
The Fenix 7 is one of those devices that no one actually "needs" but a lot "want" . Sure, we can try to justify it but in reality the Forerunner 945 or 945 LTE would do the job for most people at half the price. The Fenix 7 is just really awesome lol.
I just ordered the 7X sapphire solar titanium!!! I'm so excited for the touch screen. I currently have the Garmin Tactix Delta Solar which is an amazing watch but I'll probably sale it once the 7x arrives.
Great review as all you make! Touch screen specially navigating into the maps, makes this series worth the upgrade. Of course the improvement in gps accuracy improvement.
we all know now, the flashlight feature is welcomed by users... so convenient...the other day i was walking in night...and i put the strobing red light on...for visibility... and around the house..i use it all the time...
I remember watching your review on the Garmin Fenix 6 solar while I was debating to buy it - which I did - now I want this one for the extra battery life...it's damn near double! I could care less about the touchscreen (except for when navigating the map). Great video! Makes me want to buy this one now 😂
Now you are the Master to me. Honestly you are the only one who is capable to be super informative and at the same time really fun to watch. It is a talent and you have it :) . I find the touch screen extremely useful for the Map. I was not so excited about it at the beginning but after watching your video I have changed my mind. I'm curious about this stamina...VO2 for example was overestimated in fenix 5 plus and 6 and I wonder if in fenix 7 is more reliable to predict what you are capable to do. Another point is about the treadmill. Fenix 5 plus and 6 were a real disaster and Garmin suggested me to add a foot pod (Stryd) to get a more reliable reading of the PACE while I was running on them. I wonder if fenix 7 is better.
Thank you! The VO2 Max estimation algorythm has been tweaked and I think it's a little more reliable now but this would also apply to the Fenix 6 with later firmware updates. In terms of treadmill accuracy most watches aren't perfect since they're based on wrist movement but I've found the Fenix 7 and Epix to do a really good job and are pretty close once calibrated. Hope that helps!
Everything explained. Even if you speak soooo fast :-) Thanks a lot!!! The missing features compared to the FR945 and Venu 2+ do not really justify the price. Then I look for a Fenix 6 Pro. Or wait and see. There will surely be a 7X and 7Pro in the future ;-)
Glad I got myself the Fenix 6 Base version on BF for 300 Euros, last year. I'm good for now until the Fenix 8 lunches ^^. Nice video on the new watch!! I think that you will pick the F7!
In Singapore, the base model is at least $1000, SGD. I like smartwatches that can operate independently without or rely on smartphones all the time. I like the solar charge, flashlight and ruggedness.
Oh boy the internet is going to be on fire today, lol. I mean everybody waited for fenix 7, but the Epix looks awesome too! I hope you make a detailed comparison between the Epix and Venu 2 plus in the upcoming video.
Dude. I love the flash light. To be honest I use my phone for that all the time. With this you don’t need to pick up phone for that either. And you also don’t have to find a place to place your phone as well. Awesome!
Absolutely, when I first saw it was like "wtf?" but after a week of wearing the 7x I found myself using the flashlight several times a day for various reasons. It's a great feature!
so happy I bought a 6pro last year for a super cool price - no need yet for an update , thou navigating with fingertips seems super nice - lets wait for fenix 8 (epic and fenix come together, LTE, micro etc) in 2 years :)
With the battery improvements on the 7S, for a guy with a smaller wrist it is now a no brainer. Just looking to charge once per week with GPS running every day and this looks like it's going to be right there. Just ordered.
@@ChaseTheSummit You've talked about the 6S in the past and the wrist size you mentioned seemed around the same size as mine and now that they came out with same colors for 7S as 7 (the Fenix 6S definitely had more female oriented colors), I'll be interested to see if you end up getting a Fenix 7 what size you go with!
My main gripe with a smartwatch has been battery life and watch size. I waited for your review and decided to go with the f7 solar sapphire using your playbetter link. It's only slightly larger than the Casio G-Shock w/solar it'll replace and I feel the battery life is finally good enough at this size to keep me happy. Thanks for your reviews!
Great review ! you just made clear to me that the Fenix 7 has touch screen !! love it I wished it would have the Epix screen but well..... I would consider to exchange my Fenix 6.
My Casio ProTrek has a LED light to illuminate the display, it's weak but works perfect when camping and you need to navigate around the campsite or find your stuff in complete darkness and you have it on your hand already
I have been running more due to covid (gyms are still closed here) with some bodyweight resistance exercises (I used to be more of an old gym rat doing strength and cardio to be fit for the tennis court) and I am looking forward to updating my vivoactive. The store and pundits generally recommend the forerunner 945. When I compare it feature by feature on the garmin site, the fenix 7 might actually fit the bill a little better: I am interested in tracking running (including tracks) and tennis (my 2 most frequent) but also XC ski (winter in Canada), home workouts, cycling (home or outside), walking/ hiking. It's really tough to accurately compare. There are some differences in interval training and preloaded maps, but I don't even know if they would apply to me
The 945 is arguably one of the better value's (and one of my favorites) from the Garmin lineup because it's essentially a Fenix 6 in a plastic case. If you opt for the 945 LTE you'd also get the newer 4th gen heart rate sensor which is the same featured on the Fenix 7. The Fenix 7 still has some advantages but it's quite a bit more expensive.
Hello I like your video I think you have a great platform and thank you for sharing this watch I really like the Garmin 7X it's probably my favorite watch because of the size
Great review as usual Dave. I find the Fenix 6 GPS accuracy to be pretty good for my daily use. The 6X seems a bit better than the 6 but not a huge deal. A larger antenna perhaps? Personally the multi-band GPS uses more battery than I'd be willing to sacrifice. I also get better HR accuracy from the 6X, most likely because it fits my wrist better. That would probably vary with the individual.
Thanks! Yes, HR will vary greatly by your wrist and how well the watch fits. The 7 is certainly a step in the right direction with GPS accuracy but I didn't find my 6 to be terrible either. They're both really good devices! Thanks for watching.
@@wwefridaycp I heard somewhere that the antenna was attached to the bezel. Not sure if that's accurate. If it is, it might well be larger. Whatever the reason, when I wore both the 6X Sapphire and the 6 Solar for a few days the 6X seemed to pick up things like location, starts and stops, and speed changes just a little quicker. Maybe it was just a difference in the individual watches. The difference was small.
Great video, as always. One thing really bothers me, why there is no lte option? I understand the decision to go without microphone or speaker, in terms of durability, yet lte in 2022 is must.
Great review. Like the HR sensor upgrade, and the improved battery life. Don't care about the solar, the flashlight or the touch screen. Hate the recessed button and the cheap looking red accent. Disappointed the display wasn't upgraded. Great job on the review though, thanks!
I gotta say, the flashlight become incredibly handy in the couple of weeks I wore the 7x. I thought it was a gimmick and then I found myself using it multiple times per day. Just think about all the times you use your phones light! Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit I use flashlights all the time, that's why I carry a flashlight. lol Seriously though, it looks like the flashlight can be used as a safety light while night running. Not something I need, but that's definitely a useful feature.
This is very confusing to me. On my base/solar models they have the option for multi-band GPS. Also, Garmin's own website states multi-band as being a feature of ALL of the models not just solar sapphire. I've talked to Ray at DCRainmaker and he's got some documentation backing up the solar sapphire exclusivity but I'm finding it odd that my units have the option and have a recent firmware. I'll dig further into this and see if we can come to a resolution.
@@ChaseTheSummit thank you, it’s quite a big buying decision. I love my fenix 6 pro but the gps accuracy or lack of drives me nuts it’s so poor. Could you compare the 7 vs 6 for gps accuracy?
@@harewood1988 I'm not sure about the Garmin system, but there are a bunch of g shocks that use multiband for world time functions or just traveling to different time zones, and they do not work well enough to make it a buying decision. And I own and LOVE many g shocks.
No doubt that 7 is the best multisport watch in the market. But if you already own Fenix 6, it makes no sense to upgrade with current pricing. Ps. I just heard 6 is getting a big new firmware update too.
Great update from Garmin, but I hope they find a way to add: 1) ecg; 2) blood pressure monitor; 3) lte/wifi; 4) wireless charging; 5) higher ppi transreflective display; 6) slim down thickness of the watch.
You've had a big day! I have to say, I watched this after I saw the Epix vid, and I just think with THESE features, and THAT display, the Epix is the crown jewel of the lineup. I've done some really long hikes and rides, and I just don't think I can last longer than the Epix battery can take me. Which one are you keeping?
I feel the same way. The Fenix 7 is awesome but the display is certainly hard to look at after wearing the Epix for a few minutes! I think I'm going to buy a Fenix 7X and an Epix... because I'm crazy and I can blame youtube.
It's easy to forget that the Fenix 6 when it launched was priced around $600-$1000 depending on the model. But yeah, these aren't cheap! As technology advanced these updates become less jaw dropping and more about refinement just like an iPhone. Thanks for watching!
Like always Fenix is solid daily, but today i would go Tactix 7 if you really into heavy duty or Epix 2 that is just stellar if you don´t need that massive battery. :)
Currently have the Fenix 6 Pro and absolutely love it, it seems like the 7 is a more refined version! Only thing of concern is the touch screen. I've heard touchscreens aren't the best when you're in the thick of an adventure. Thoughts?
The touch screen can be entirely disabled with a couple of taps or even mapped to a shortcut button. So if you’re in harsh environments just turn it off and use the buttons. In day to day life the touchscreen makes the watch much easier to use especially for just swiping through widgets and text messages and stuff. It’s nice to have the option!
Great review as always Dave, I have a 6s pro at the moment switched to Apple Watch 7 and now I’m going back to Garmin. Battery life is my main reason why I prefer Garmin over the Apple Watch. I believe charging the Watch daily is a very low bar these days, longer battery life in the finex 7 is a plus for me. Adding solar is a plus for me, where I am from it’s sunny 99% of the year. I was hoping for an AMOLED display for the 42mm model (the one I ordered). However I was hoping for a case squash for the 7, something like the venue model. I’m hoping for a smooth interface with apple fitness, and activity ring. Finally, I wanted to request if you can creat a video on how I can integrate Garmin Watch data with Apple health and activity rings.
I'm not fun of Garmin (after buggly experience with vivo3 music), But in terms of size next devices comparable: Apex pro ~ Fenix 7 Vertix 2 ~ Fenix 7X Just coros doesn't has NFC, but has much better battery, especially in stand-by-mode. I believe it's like IOS & Android fans.
COROS and Garmin both have their pro's and con's. One big pro to the Fenix 7 is the full mapping / navigation experience and advanced wellness tools like Body Battery. The COROS devices excel in being rock solid, simple GPS trackers, and of course crazy battery life.
I'm kinda disappointed with this Fenix 7, I consider myself a tech guy, and I've been switching between the Fenix and the Apple Watch these years. Fenix is years ahead of the Apple Watch on battery life, the accuracy of GPS, etc., but the UI... don't let me start here. Garmin needs to start thinking of a refresh of this 2015 UI. I feel old just to start watching my Fenix 6S Pro.
It's all personal preference. Do you want OLED or Transflective? Do you value battery life or longevity? Answer those questions and you have your decision!
@@ChaseTheSummit thank you! Just a question.. do you think the epix battery life will decrease dramatically over time? This would be a one time purchase which I hope I wouldn’t need to do for 5+ years.. I feel this is where the fenix takes strength..
Nice review ! Interresting GNSS test would be to compare Fenix 6 (GPS+Galileo) Vs Fenix 7 (All GNSS) Vs Fenix 7 (all GNSS + multifrequency) in difficult environment (cities, with tall buildings).
@@ChaseTheSummit Please!!! Very curious if the non multifrequency GNSS on the non-sapphire editions is any better than previous versions. I'd be coming from am F945 and am overall satisfied with GPS but there are definitely spots of tree coverage that are a little off.
For GPS alone I think Coros still has the edge here since it supports all 5 major satellite systems whilst Fenix 7 supports only 3 of them. We’ll probably see a tone of comparisons between these in the coming days/months. But this is my first observation so far.

Thanks for sharing! LTE would have been really nice to see. Maybe we'll see a "plus" model down the road.
Great review! Nice watch . I opted for the Instinct Solar . At the price it’s imo hard to beat . Yes the Fenix range are astonishing with details. The Instinct is a no frills yet capable device .
Instinct is awesome! Enjoy!
@@ChaseTheSummit yes it’s a delight to use . No frills . Rugged, I use it all day , work , hillwalking, camping, hunting. I was going for a Fenix , but reckoned is was too much technical 🤷♂️
I wish I got the solar instinct instead of the regular however I still love my instinct for 160 bucks can’t beat jt
I think the solar is probably a ripoff. 2 hours of charging every 2 week isn't that bad
The battery life is impressive! Can't wait to see what's next with Garmin!
For sure!
I believe you can zoom in by double tap. One still needs button to zoom out though.
@@TheFlyingmanCZ yes you're correct. You can zoom with a double tap and you can also "long press" to select a destination.
How often does a new model of Garmin Fenix series come out?
@@kingkocher it's 2-3 years
Awesome new watches from Garmin and an awesome rundown as always.
Hard to beat that price! Enjoy the 6s!
Cool video as always. I mean, great content. In your last live video, I was laughing because you were not good about hiding the fact that you already knew about the Fenix 7. 🙂
Thanks! lol, I don't have a great poker face.
I keep watching this video even after I bought my 7x solar saphire and while I'm patiently waiting for it to come in the mail. The only thing I was worried about was the size for my wrists but I think it should be fine. Can't wait for it to come!
I hope it comes soon!
Solid breakdown!! Sleep modes look really interesting and I’ll probably utilize that. Touch screen looks awesome and cool feature that you can turn it off if you need. Great video dude! 👏
Thanks Ryan!
I can't find my stress load settings while playing ping pong. I'll keep looking... :)
Good upgrades. I ordered a 7 solar for the huuughe battery life. It might not matter now, but two years from now it will. Great video
Nice! Enjoy it!
Hey. Exactly as you're saying. If it had a microphone and a loudspeaker and an e sim, I would buy the most expensive version immediately. Great job. Greetings.
It's interesting they left that stuff out. Maybe in a future version.
Thanks for a great review. I had read the 7 was possibly coming out this week, so have been checking you first thing every morning.
Here it is! 🙌
Thanks for releasing right on time :)
I'm just as excited as you!
that's what she said
I just ordered the 7X sapphire solar titanium!!! I'm so excited for the touch screen. I currently have the Garmin Tactix Delta Solar which is an amazing watch but I'll probably sale it once the 7x arrives.
Nice! I don't think you'll be dissapointed!
Woooo! The day has finally come! Order is already in. Your videos are showing up first, great job 👏
🙌
Great as always Dave. I really like the 7x, but not the price. That touch screen is awesome for navigation mode. My 6x is good for a couple years.
It's a big price for a big watch! The 6x is still great! Thanks for watching and for supporting the channel!
Great review … love my F 6x pro sapphire although do have GPS issues and the HR isn’t really any good - especially in the cold. Thanks
OHR sensors generally all struggle in the cold until you get warmed up! Thanks for watching!
@@ChaseTheSummit agree. Unfortunately OHR aren’t the most reliable… the 90s style chest strap still the winner 👍
I would recommend to get a HR band like the Wahoo tick (they are mucho more reliable than any wrist HRM). Much cheaper than a Garmin watch upgrade
@@edutoro11 yup, I know what you mean
@@movemorenowjames That Oled display and that LONG battery life with it, seems a BIG step forward though
Great review as all you make! Touch screen specially navigating into the maps, makes this series worth the upgrade. Of course the improvement in gps accuracy improvement.
Just hope they soon manage to put the solar cells in the wrist band to get months of battery life.
For sure, touch screen is really nice!
Finally I got a Garmin watch with the same level of gps accuracy of the Polar Grit X.
we all know now, the flashlight feature is welcomed by users...
so convenient...the other day i was walking in night...and i put the strobing red light on...for visibility...
and around the house..i use it all the time...
Great videos Dave - all your Fenix 7/Epix videos are outstanding as always, you look like a kid in a candy store, awesome!!
Thanks Chris! Exciting stuff!
I remember watching your review on the Garmin Fenix 6 solar while I was debating to buy it - which I did - now I want this one for the extra battery life...it's damn near double! I could care less about the touchscreen (except for when navigating the map). Great video! Makes me want to buy this one now 😂
So many good choices! Thanks for watching!
All versions sold out on Amazon within hours! I'm glad I placed my order right when I saw them available
Yeah, they seem to be moving fast.
7X,wow Dave, that's a hardcore 🪨 fitness/outdoors watch,Garmin rules now
Now you are the Master to me.
Time to replace my Fenix 5 Sapphire with the 7x Solar Sapphire, hopefully they're in stock here today. Great review as always!
Nice! Hope you enjoy it!
Great video as always. I’ve been a 6 pro user for 6 months. Will be staying put for awhile.
Nice! the 6 Pro is still a great watch!
Definitely makes me want to upgrade from my 945.
The 945 is still great but these new flagships are really cool!
Nice update from Garmin , but my Coros vertix are still great for me. For that price I bought Coros and AW7 😀, that's the combo for me.
Certainly not cheap! Thanks for watching!
Fantastic review, Dave. Some good improvements for sure.
Thanks Steven!
Awesome, the one I have been waiting for, excellent overview. I want one!!

I have the Fenix Platinum 6 Pro Solar. I love that watch!
Awesome!
Dave, you do a great job on these reviews, you should be a baseball ⚾ player, because you cover all the bases 😂
can't wait for new top forerunner XD thx for brilliant review!!!
You and me both!
Glad I got myself the Fenix 6 Base version on BF for 300 Euros, last year. I'm good for now until the Fenix 8 lunches ^^. Nice video on the new watch!! I think that you will pick the F7!
The F6 is still a great watch especially at that price!
In Singapore, the base model is at least $1000, SGD. I like smartwatches that can operate independently without or rely on smartphones all the time. I like the solar charge, flashlight and ruggedness.
here for the maps, great vid 👌 👏 defo getting one.

Brilliant review as always
I appreciate that!
Oh boy the internet is going to be on fire today, lol. I mean everybody waited for fenix 7, but the Epix looks awesome too! I hope you make a detailed comparison between the Epix and Venu 2 plus in the upcoming video.
Lots of follow up videos are coming. Sadly, I had to send these loaner units back but I should have my personal units soon to make more videos!
Wow. Thanks, for the very detailed and great review. As always enjoy watching.
Thanks for watching!
so happy I bought a 6pro last year for a super cool price - no need yet for an update , thou navigating with fingertips seems super nice - lets wait for fenix 8 (epic and fenix come together, LTE, micro etc) in 2 years :)
For the current price of the Fenix 6 they're still awesome watches!
7 is out?!?!? How did I not know 😍😍😍😍
It's here!
I have the fēnix® 6 Pro and Sapphire , and this game is getting to rich for my blood. Thanks for a great review/overview//all the best troutbumandsam
It's certainly not cheap!
Ordered the 7x solar.. getting it Thursday!
Awesome!
With the battery improvements on the 7S, for a guy with a smaller wrist it is now a no brainer. Just looking to charge once per week with GPS running every day and this looks like it's going to be right there. Just ordered.
Absolutely!
Awesome Kyle! I hope you enjoy it!
Great review ! you just made clear to me that the Fenix 7 has touch screen !! love it I wished it would have the Epix screen but well..... I would consider to exchange my Fenix 6.
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome review Dave! I'm going to wait to see if I need / want to upgrade to the 7.
Need / Want are very different lol. Thanks for watching! And thanks for supporting the channel Fernando!
I just purchased the Fenix 6X, cause the price went down. I like the touch screen on the 7x, I can wait until 8X comes out🤣🤣🤣
lol, being a generation behind will save you lots of $$$ and the 6x is still an EXCELLENT watch. Enjoy it!
My Casio ProTrek has a LED light to illuminate the display, it's weak but works perfect when camping and you need to navigate around the campsite or find your stuff in complete darkness and you have it on your hand already
Nice!
Thanks! The 7X is a good one!
@@ChaseTheSummit Thanks for the quick reply! Is there any substance to my theory about a larger GPS antenna/accuracy in the 51mm size?
@@StormyDog Not chase, but I'd be hard pressed to believe they'd add a larger GPS antenna in the "X" vs non "X".
@@StormyDog Interesting!
Great video, as always.
One thing really bothers me, why there is no lte option?
I understand the decision to go without microphone or speaker, in terms of durability, yet lte in 2022 is must.
I'm wondering if they'll do some sort of "plus" model down the road to include LTE and voice functions.
Hard pass without LTE and Voice. Get in the game Garmin.
@@ChaseTheSummit I use flashlights all the time, that's why I carry a flashlight. lol
Seriously though, it looks like the flashlight can be used as a safety light while night running. Not something I need, but that's definitely a useful feature.
Great video Dave, it’s a shame that the multi band GPS is only available on the sapphire editions :(
This is very confusing to me.
For sure, the 6 is still great and the price is basically double.
Great update from Garmin, but I hope they find a way to add: 1) ecg; 2) blood pressure monitor; 3) lte/wifi; 4) wireless charging; 5) higher ppi transreflective display; 6) slim down thickness of the watch.
Out of that wish list I think the one I was most surprised that was missing was LTE! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I bought Fenix 7 sapphire solar yesterday
Thanks for the review, you are my favourite channel for all my expensive toys :) do you'll do a comparative with vertex 2?
Yup, I'll have a follow up with Vertix 2! thanks for watching!
Can’t wait for mine to get here.
Hope you like it!
I’m impressed with The 7x solar sapphire but Im going to wait for the next generation Tactix series even tho I have the latest tactix delta
Time will tell!
Great review with excellent applicable insight! 🤞for a cellular model in the future.
Thanks! I'm curious if we'll see an LTE version some day! Thanks for supporting the channel Matt!
@@ChaseTheSummit Godspeed, Sir! Hard to go wrong when you've got them both. I've got an AW Series 7 that I'll alternate between.
I'll just keep wearing my 6s sapphire. Maybe the Fenix 8 will be more jaw dropping at that price point.
It's easy to forget that the Fenix 6 when it launched was priced around $600-$1000 depending on the model. But yeah, these aren't cheap! As technology advanced these updates become less jaw dropping and more about refinement just like an iPhone. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed your review for a while now! But relax a little please! It sounds like a breakdown! Best wishes!
Thanks! I am relaxed... just excited!
Like always Fenix is solid daily, but today i would go Tactix 7 if you really into heavy duty or Epix 2 that is just stellar if you don´t need that massive battery. :)
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! I'll see what I can do about a Garmin > Apple data video.
I'm not fun of Garmin (after buggly experience with vivo3 music), But in terms of size next devices comparable:
Apex pro ~ Fenix 7
Vertix 2 ~ Fenix 7X
Just coros doesn't has NFC, but has much better battery, especially in stand-by-mode.
@@ChaseTheSummit I would say Garmin also has store inside, so price of using garmin can be much higher.
Have you checked out the Epix?

Great review 👏. My Fenix 6 GPS has definitely gone a bit wayward the last 12 months or so.
Thanks! What do you mean?
@@ChaseTheSummit the GPS accuracy for distance but strangely the altitude is spot on 🤷🏻♂️
I’m struggling.. fenix or epix!! I kinda love the fact the fenix has that rugged sports feel other than a ‘smartwatch’ help!

Yup, I've got a deep dive test video coming. Stay tuned.
@@ChaseTheSummit Thanks for the hard work !
@@ChaseTheSummit Please!!! Very curious if the non multifrequency GNSS on the non-sapphire editions is any better than previous versions. I'd be coming from am F945 and am overall satisfied with GPS but there are definitely spots of tree coverage that are a little off.
Now if I can only make up my mind between fénix 7x and epix!
Flip a coin! 🪙
I'm a big Coros fan, but now I have to admit, that Garmin Fenix 7X (probably) is best GPS watch.
There's so many good options out there these days!
For GPS alone I think Coros still has the edge here since it supports all 5 major satellite systems whilst Fenix 7 supports only 3 of them. We’ll probably see a tone of comparisons between these in the coming days/months. But this is my first observation so far.
