    In 2004 this truck would cost $27,000 when a median household income was $36,000. In 2024 it costs $45,000 with a median household income of $69,000. That means this 2024 Ranger is 65% of your yearly household income. In 2004 a $27,000 truck was 75% of your household income. It's safer, it's more powerful, it's more efficient and it is a better deal than what you would have gotten 20 years ago. People don't understand inflation, they truly don't.

      @Scroll_Lock 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ForesFishing Average car price is a useless metric in this case. EV's have driven up the average price significantly. I did it by household incomes (1 or 2 or more breadwinners) and the closest spec to this particular vehicle. Cheap sedans and coupes were also a larger share of the market 20 years ago. Inflation drives up the price of EVERYTHING and it is the number one factor here in why people think trucks are so expensive compared to before. It feels like you can't afford it because of the cost of everything else being so high. A realistic inflation of nearly 25% in 4 years. Nobody would bat an eye at these (reasonable for inflation) truck prices if housing, food, utilities, and fuel wasn't so damned expensive. If they think about it they're actually demanding a very large discount. I don't like it either but a proper perspective is required. I'm mad that my condo costs $270,000 when that used to be a two story house.

Have you had doors or windows replaced in your home? Have you had to replace the hvac system in your home? Everything is expensive. Material and labor cost to manufacture something is incredible! Nitpicking some of your arguments vs. the Tacoma. The Tacoma's rear storage bins are actually a bit larger than the Ranger's. The Taco's rear seats are 60/40 split, also. And as far the silly Taco air dam, it's easily removable, which I bet 90% of people buying the truck will remove. But really, I'm liking both of them.

It works great where GM put it! Ford put it in a very awkward spot to climb into the bed! Why would they put it in the very back of truck if it WAS just to reach into the bed! You would need 5ft arms to reach the front of bed GM invented it in 2014 10 years ago in their full size! My Colorado Trail Boss also has open slots on both sides to put your hand when using the steps to grab on to! It makes it so easy to get into, cause these trucks are tall for people like me at 5’9 ✌️
