  • Thanks for watching please subscribe and hit the bell! We get some decent numbers today, with more tuning to go! This bike is COMPLETELY different. Pulls the wheel up in first and second gear. We're anticipating in the 16-20 hp realm when done. This bike has SO much more usable power, prior it honestly lacked so much in first, there were small hills this thing struggled to climb. We're currently working on the new cam grind and an exhaust solution, follow us on the scooterswapshop app, so you're notified when the parts drop!

    the intake track and the exhaust are your limits. aka carb intake port valve to the exhaust valve and out your exhaust pipe. it only flows so much. by adding capacity to the cylinder it only moves that power to a lower rpm because the larger bore draws in more air. you will lower your upper rpm as well . adding more available air to the intake and exhaust side will in turn allow the engine to produce more power the higher the rpm goes. i suggest porting the head and adding bigger valves. adding more duration to the cam can help as well because it allows the valves to stay open longer which allows more air to be drawn into the cylinder. you guys are on the right track. i cant wait for the next video!

    Great video. It will be interesting to see what happens when you start changing lift and duration with trying various cams.

    I like this bike because it's simple, very low on maintenance, can take a beating, is easy and fun to ride, and BECAUSE it's slow. It gets me to the trails 30 miles away at 50-55mph no problem, and gets me around with ease and comfort once I'm there. However I do think it's cool to see all these mods people are doing to tweak it to their liking and just show what's possible.

    I'd like to see you test switching to Amsoil synthetic after an initial break in with conventional oil on some 2 strokes or 4. I just bought one of these XR150L's and plan to switch. I picked up some mph on several 2 stroke 50cc motors switching to Amsoil synthetic after initial breaking it in using conventional oil, experiencing a 2nd break in w/ Amsoil, and ultimately the resulting increase in speed. Motors sounded better and lasted longer as well. I hope the same happens with my XR150L. I have built a lot of 50 cc bike mopeds and doing the , what I call a "double break in" (DBI) just described, seemed to add 5-8 mph. Thing is going to synthetic on a 50cc with lots of miles did not get the same benefit. Wish I had this system to test exactly how it improved using the DBI.

      @@Scooterswapshop Almost ... but making more power takes more fuel. And that will reduce the range. A big deal on a touring bike, but I don't think anyone will care on these.
      I'm finalizing finances on my 2024 at the dealer tomorrow.
      Going from a vStrom 1000 to a vStrom 650 was an easy change.
      From the vStrom to the XR150 will be HUGE, so its going to get some mods.
      But its looking great so far! Keep hacking/modding/ and posting!! :)

      Even 80 mph would suffice as the bike does not weight very much , and will have a tendency to get blown off road by trucks and strong winds . I think even a 67 mm. Piston version should be built as well . Good luck.
      Please let me just buy your kit . As soon as possible as am old and can we pre-order .

    Does the CDI can increase HP. I tried swapping the CDI for 100cc 2 stroke Yamaha to a 135cc 2 stroke Yamaha and the 135 significantly loss HP. And also I saw a post where that big bore kit destroyed his XR engine. The piston seized. In Asia most big bore kit replacement the mechanics also increases the diameter of oil lines.

    • @philipcloutier2553
      @philipcloutier2553 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would be surprised if it blew up , because honda already has a XR190L. So that factory cylinder can be bored for larger a piston .
      We in North America should have been blessed by honda with this XR190L injected and a gas gauge. Australia XR190L has twin side stands , left and right humm. Imagine that . Good for lefties or rightness. LOL.

      It this video they said they had to clearance the piston, if the guy in the other video didn’t do that then it definitely would’ve destroyed some stuff.

    So a big toque increase pluse a top speed of 80 mph would suffice as the bike does not weight very much , and will have a tendency to get blown off road by trucks and strong winds . I think even a 67 mm. Piston version should be built as well . Good luck.

    Where’s the actual results from your CH80 carb swap kit for 300$ you think you’d actually show a video of one property jetted and ripping along

    • @Scooterswapshop
      @Scooterswapshop  23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      We can’t really make videos on the progress of every single kit we sell. We truly try but we stopped on the ch80 when the general feedback was that nobody really wanted performance parts for them. We did a lot of polls on it. We spent about $50k a year on TH-cam labor etc to get back about $5000 a year in revenue so it’s really hard to make that math make sense as a business. We have to invest in what works and keeps the doors open :)
