The majority of comments concentrate on what could be. But look the heck at what is already. A badass Camaro humiliating a bike that should win easy, so even more impressive. That launch just made me happy.
I've known Ellis thru an Lt1Edit club for many years. He's gradually moved the car to quicker and quicker ETs. He's served time in the LT1 trenches, not dropped the car off at a tuners shop with a credit card like a lot of posers. About the 'Busa. Yes, damned quick. But not every driver of those bikes knows how to finesse it off the line. I've had a GSXR1100 and a Ducati 916SS. It's not always easy to get them off the line the first few times till you get the hang of it.
That is a nice build and a clean launch. I'm not a fan of Hayabusa's but a little research goes a long way. A stock Hayabusa runs high 9's off the showroom floor with a knowledgeable rider. Non-Pro turbo Busa's average 250-600hp and can range 5-7sec 1/4 mile runs depending on the level of swingarm modifications and the use of an air shifter. I'm a hardcore Chevy guy but damn it, THE BUSA DRIVER HIT A RED LIGHT! If you actually pay some attention, you'll notice his reaction time is negative. He realized that and obviously let off, no point in staying on the throttle if you've already lost. Now if only my LT1 ran low 10's too
Actually, the guy who owns this Camaro is on a few f-body websites. He has stated plainly that the Busa didnt miss a gear, but let off because he thought something was wrong because the Camaro was right next to him. Not to mention, and I quote this verbatim "I let off alittle before the 1320 and cut the A/C on".
@willedcow I agree that the bike let off...but you CAN sit straight up past 120. I've personally ridden at 130 sitting as if i was doing speed limit-just my $.02
@vinceman444 We set it up that way. The whole point of the build is anyone could get in it and drive it. We daily drove it 60 miles a day in that configuration on Street tires and no other changes ;)
Thats a pretty fast Camaro, pulled the bike off the line then they hung together until the bike let up. The bike driver most likely just went to a dealer and bought the bike. Anybody can do that but few can drive them to potential. The Camaro on the other hand took some mods to get it to run that fast. That takes some talent and knowledge. Lets face some facts the fastest drag vehicles have 4 wheels. The fastest bikes are over a full second slower than the fastest drag cars in the 1/4.
Stock Camaros run about 13.5 for the 1/4. My 98 Z28 runs about 13 with a BBK throttle and filter mod. Bikes are much harder to launch, so 'Busas have been clocked at anywhere between 9.6 and 10.4 for the 1/4.
I've owned two GT Cobras and one Z-28. I now own a Hayabusa and can assure you that neither cars could not come close to keeping up with the 190hp bike. It practically pulls your arms out of their sockets. Undescribable acceleration.
@nikosgiouv good call.. it's really not easy launching a bike.. I took my stock 07 gixxer750 to the track, and could only muster an 11.1 @ 130mph.. finding the right launch point so that you move quickly off the line and don't bog, but also don't yank the front tire waaay off the ground is tricky on a stock wheel-base bike.. as a pro at the track was telling me, it's a lot harder than riding a fast, stretched bike..
@DaBears3593 That wasn't a stock z28 in case you couldn't tell. That had a deep breathing 427 in it; it almost popped a wheelie. That's more than fair.
A STOCK busa runs 9.86 sec @ 145.80 mph [Performed by CycleWorld magazine June 2000] That Chevy didn't beat a Hayabusa, he beat a bad driver. Other than that, a 10 second Camaro is impressive.
@Ricky414Bobby he might have missed a shift but if u look at the timing board it says - 029 which means he red light so he already lost so he probaly just got out of it
You're right, it is tough to get a stock Busa in the nine's but I can do it and have many times for guys at the race track who want to see what their bikes will do. And, yes, a good rider on a 600R can run in the low to mid 10's. That guy on that Busa was just not an avid racer. My ZX12 has a stock motor but mods to the bike and I run 9.23 and 8.90's on my stock ZX14 with mods. That car wouldnt stand a chance against my bikes.
Agreed but he did sit up at 42 seconds. I'm not a Hayabusa fan but if anyone thinks that bike got outrun by that many carlengths is very very mistaken. Surely the submitter of the video isn't claiming that much of a win when it's obvious the bike didn't even finsh the race!
The Camaro isn't even near stock to those who are asking if it is; you can tell by the sound of the cams. As for it beating the bike, it's obvious the busa gave in partially through the race likely due to a missed gear (as others have said).
that rider isn't a shit rider, he just red lit (by a little) it happens to all drivers/riders but that Camaro is damn quick really looking forward to seeing it on the track next season.
@Ricky414Bobby I really like the sv. That's on my list of bikes to own and probably my next one. I've ridden a few and they're brilliant fun. Not a straight line bike but who cares when you're enjoying yourself?
@wrx650r Well thats cuz the camaro is tuned up with probably 2 turbos and many other things plus he is running on slicks so he has enough grip for the takeoff
The busa wasn't trying.. He gave up. I am a Camaro and bike lover so don't think I am dissing the maro. I think the busa may have given up because he was afraid of the camaro losing traction.. I've had a bike to a track and I am paranoid about some of the cars losing traction. When I run side by side I end up pussing out because I've had some cars get squirly.. scares the crap out of me.
I ride a busa. It is hard to get the initial take of right because if you dump the clutch and hit the throttle hard, you will be laying on your back with the bike right on top of u. but i hit 60mph first gear in a little over 2 sec. everything stock except yoshimura pipe, power commander, and some plastics.
Wow that guy can't ride or something . My 2002 busa runs a 9.72@ 143mph and its stock . Why did he give up half track.? Nice run for that camaro !
Ran out of Gear Different sprocket maybe
WONDERFUL!!!
Love the way that Camaro blasted off line. Is a thing of beauty

@kev46geo Do you have any idea how heavily modified that Camaro was? That might have had something to do with it. Plus it was a stock bike.
The cool thing about that Camaro is that it appears to be stock. Imagine someone thinking, "that is just an LT1, I can take him."
beautiful beast of a car
Whatever the circumstances, that is one fast Camaro.
Holy crap! That's one sick Camaro!
I'm a hardcore Chevy guy but damn it, THE BUSA DRIVER HIT A RED LIGHT! If you actually pay some attention, you'll notice his reaction time is negative. He realized that and obviously let off, no point in staying on the throttle if you've already lost. Now if only my LT1 ran low 10's too
That maro gave him the business, Im a ford man but I give that maro his props nice pass and nice kill also.
Nice run 4 the car.
this camaro is the most beautiful and latest one is beautiful too
Haha.. busa rider was like.. "is that a candy bar right there on the ground?"
damn even though the busa let off that camaro is nasty i think that launch just made me launch
wow, what a launch, the camaro almost got a little air on the front wheels
Holy shit thats a sick ass launch but yeah the bike let him go at the end
Nice launch, 10 second Camaro..... nice!
Wow! That was a tremendous start for the Camaro! It looked like a bike when it started than the bike itself. What is in the Camaro? A monster?
at 0:43 the busa rider lets off the throttle and even comes out of a tuck.
it looked like a triangle in the 90s but now it looks like exotic car
Daaayyyuuuuummmmm!!!! that's one nasty ass Z! sounded like mine at an idle. I will be happy if mine hits 11's after my tune!
Damn!!!That Maro hooked TF up!!!
I think i have seen you at Bremerton raceway before.. i remember seeing your camaro there on the last CCC race
the bike guy is all like "fuck this im out"
Actually, the guy who owns this Camaro is on a few f-body websites. He has stated plainly that the Busa didnt miss a gear, but let off because he thought something was wrong because the Camaro was right next to him. I Love Camaros, the best cars
@willedcow I agree that the bike let off...but you CAN sit straight up past 120. I've personally ridden at 130 sitting as if i was doing speed limit-just my $.02
that bike never stood a CHANCE
@vinceman444 We set it up that way. The whole point of the build is anyone could get in it and drive it. We daily drove it 60 miles a day in that configuration on Street tires and no other changes ;)
@Lt1,, you are correct, but I think some one said this was a stocked camaro or street legal camaro. maybe i or they should have said unmodified
Thats a pretty fast Camaro, pulled the bike off the line then they hung together until the bike let up.
The bike driver most likely just went to a dealer and bought the bike. Anybody can do that but few can drive them to potential.

Lets face some facts the fastest drag vehicles have 4 wheels. The fastest bikes are over a full second slower than the fastest drag cars in the 1/4.
Jeez! Good race, seems like the Busa was lacking, prolly the rider.
Stock Camaros run about 13.5 for the 1/4. My 98 Z28 runs about 13 with a BBK throttle and filter mod. Bikes are much harder to launch, so 'Busas have been clocked at anywhere between 9.6 and 10.4 for the 1/4.
holy shit that camaro got off the line fast haha i was expecting that hyabusa to punish that guy
thats sick i want that car
i love camaro's and firebirds, ive had 3 f-body's and im 20, but that bike is 8-9 seconds stock so he did let off, but hey its fun ...great job guys
I wonder if that Camaro has a stock (but modified) engine block, or does it have a completely different engine.
That was one bad ass camaro.
I just realized what you need: a PC [0], a LIFE [x]
I like how bike riders are making excuses instead of complimenting a job well done on that Camaro.
the bike missed a gear and then said " fuck this noise, this dude's crazy!"
All academic now. New kid on the block. Kawasaki H2 210HP supercharged.
nice :)
I've owned two GT Cobras and one Z-28. I now own a Hayabusa and can assure you that neither cars could not come close to keeping up with the 190hp bike. It practically pulls your arms out of their sockets. Undescribable acceleration.
wow!
ha ha! I was thinking the same thing! Stock, Turbo Busa?
that camaro was awesome!
i just got my z28 and holy balls that was amazing
wat was revving in the background after the pass
@nikosgiouv

Looked like purpose shut down to me
or bike stalled
Alternately - the ZO6 was the fastest production car, before the R35 & then the ZR1. New Corvette's mean business.
Why did bike let off?
damn that camaros a beast
383 stroker?
@DaBears3593 That wasn't a stock z28 in case you couldn't tell. That had a deep breathing 427 in it; it almost popped a wheelie. That's more than fair.

@nissanferrari1 its all stock as u can see turbo busa's have a 6" single exhaust that comes out of the plastic right below the heads
Daaaaaaaamn
how many hp has the camaro ??
@Ricky414Bobby he might have missed a shift but if u look at the timing board it says - 029 which means he red light so he already lost so he probaly just got out of it
I like both. ^_^

@bilco89 A lot and more than most. I have owned 7 and currently have a Honda NSR 150 SP and a 1998 Honda Fireblade. What do you want to know?
besides the obvious fact that the busa let off on the gas, 10.3 in a car is pretty bloody quick!! And it sounds nice too :-P
@RedResurrections what about a ford gt?
Wish my Camaro could go so fast....Awsome
You're right! Too bad my girl is scared of my R1.... Oh well, I guess I'll just pick up someone who isn't afraid of riding on a bike... lol
the guy on the busa got a phone call lol
Agreed but he did sit up at 42 seconds. I'm not a Hayabusa fan but if anyone thinks that bike got outrun by that many carlengths is very very mistaken. Surely the submitter of the video isn't claiming that much of a win when it's obvious the bike didn't even finsh the race!

@hunghuge12 actually it is considering how light the bike is
@Quatermain98526 may have been a stock motor but the Busa was lowered a LOT - as is it should be able to run mid to low 9's.
why did the busa slow down?
the dude who drove that hayabusa barely pulled of the 1st gear LOL
dobre ho dal super
As soon as i saw the camaro lift i said owned!!!
that rider isn't a shit rider, he just red lit (by a little)
it happens to all drivers/riders
but that Camaro is damn quick
really looking forward to seeing it on the track next season.
@Ricky414Bobby I really like the sv. That's on my list of bikes to own and probably my next one.
I've ridden a few and they're brilliant fun. Not a straight line bike but who cares when you're enjoying yourself?
You know the bike weighs a 1/6 of what the car weighs and the bike is one of the fastest production bikes.
that busa definitly didnt go all out.
hehe. I didnt see that coming. The busa must have missed a gear or something. Looked strange even if the shrimp has a lot of power. :)
I agree,
A Busa with the correct rider can run low 9's all day long.
Nothing wrong with that Camaro tho , 10.3 damn quick.
lol the busa said fuck dat half way down the track
thats sick. why does this have no comments lol
I love how upset the bike guys get when they see a bike lose to a car :D
That's a fucking ballsy Camaro.
When I run side by side I end up pussing out because I've had some cars get squirly.. scares the crap out of me.
i wanna know what was in that maro
what happenes and the busa started slow down?
lol, even if the bike wouldnt have gottin out of it there is no catching that insane camaro launch
@ShiftKickerZ28 Nice catch bro
Well, regardless of what the bike rider's problem was you still can't take away from the fact that an LT-1 Camaro was in the 10's at over 130
HOLY FUCK!!!! i was NOT expecting that .....
I Agree
Well it ran about a 10.5 didn't it? I dont think they go under 10 as standard... Ive seen them sprinted @ 1/4's several times.
For those who do not read the comments. YES the guy on the bike lifted. He had never had a car beat him to half track and thought his bike was hurt ;)
