As a teen many years ago, this was one of my favourites video ever on TH-cam, obsessed with acceleration videos. Today, many years later I still enjoy it, the camera quality gives it also something special, nostalgic basically.
I never tire of seeing just how these things accelerate. My heart rate gets to about 140 just watching. I cannot imagine what it is like to actually do it.
Busas always amaze me. My modded Bandit 1200 tops out around 240-250 kmh. This guy does that leisurely in 4th gear, then briskly accelerates to and indicated 310 plus KPH. Sweet!
ClaudiaShifferLA; yup, I pilot a Busa too, and the stock brakes are really as good as they're shown in this vid... The Busa pilot in this vid is not using ABS I'm sure, because the model Busa he's piloting didn't come with ABS.
+Wiktor Krämer First time ride it quite slow. It's good because a 1340cc engine will have a much longer life than a 125cc engine if you ride the same speed in the beginning.
+Wiktor Krämer NO ! , please start out on a 250 cc, its very dangerous , plus you are comparing a bicycle to a motorcycle. NO!!!! , please 250cc for the people on the roads sake!, you can kill someone, ITS A LOADED GUN!
They are insane. I have a 2004 Hayabusa. I've never before felt G-forces from accelerating on a vehicle. It makes my camaro feel like a snail in comparison.
Are you really justified in tooting your horn at someone because they change lanes in front of you at 250kmh? How the fuck was he supposed to see you coming?
djtutty76 agreed, but he might have been a bit to much "in the moment". and for his own sake, I do hope he was, and just not thinking of other things X) peace.
djtutty76 i think this is recorded in germany so yes, he is justified because basically you have sections where you can drive as fast as you want...and 250 isn't even fast on those roads trust me and 250 is not a speed where you "pop out of nowhere". The driver just missjudged the bikers speed, AND the biker really wasn't that far away that you can say "he came to close to fast" I have the feeling that the guy in the car really just glanced at his mirror and switched lanes without thinking about it . If you consider my average traveling speed is 220-230, and that I still get overtaken by axpromitaly 2 cars a minute, 250 really is nothing special. PS: I'm not a biker.
@JakeVexx21 Totally agree. In Germany there are no speed limits on German Autobahn and when a car is approaching with 200 km/h or faster while you're driving 130km/h it's really difficult to estimate the other driver's speed. A motorcycle's silhouette is even thinner, and therefore it's speed is even more difficult to estimate. But this looks to me more like France or Spain, where speed is limited to 130 km/h. No one there will expect someone to drive with the speed of 280 km/h.
While the motorcyclist was riding at around 160MPH after exiting a curve, the minivan at 1:00 moved into the left lane to pass a vehicle in the right lane. With the motorcyclist's high speed, the minivan driver probably properly completely a mirror and then head check. During the head check, the motorcycle likely became visible in the mirror, which had already been glanced at. I am so glad this video didn't have the word "death" at the end, because that's what could have happened in an instant.
I saw one of these accelerate out of a Suzuki dealership once. It's in downtown with a pretty busy highway running past. He started at one end of the lot, and had to be doing 100+ when he hit the highway. Scared the shit of of me. Every time I see one it makes my heart stop a little. Super cool though.
There’s another one similar to this, but the interstate/“other” (not sure where this was filmed, the speedometer is in km/h) is significantly more crowded and the driver never lets up. It’s pretty intense.
como debe comer nafta el bicho este... yendo en 1ra llega a 120km/h !!! es un monstruo esta maquina!! si te haces el loco, terrible palaso te pegas, nisiquiera te das cuenta de que te moriste!
Had a really awesome and close friend of mine die on his sports bike. He was speeding for no reason and riding like hell. It sucks because not only was he extremely young, but this kid would take a bullet for anyone; thee most respectable, loyal and amazing kid you'll ever meet. He left his family and friends behind still grieving till this day. No reason to ride wreckless and put your life and other's life at risk. Just the other day, a speeding bike t-boned and killed an innocent driver...
Big fake !! The bike says 320 km but passing other cars/busses (who are driving maybe 120 km, a difference of 200 km/hr) with that low speed... He's driving real maybe 150/160 km/hr, not faster !
The white lines, length of the line on the German autobahn is 6 meters, the distance between them is 12 meters. If you count 10 lines it's 180meters he did in 2 seconds (from 1.47 to 1.49). By that he does 900m every 10 seconds. 5.4km every minute. 60minutes would mean 324km/h. The passing of the cars is just the camera angle, nothing more :) That is just roughly calculated, not really accurate, but it is still over 300.
This post is more subdued. There is some humor in the beginning, but it quickly fades into a confusing quiz show format. It must be an incomplete post. I'll await the second half of the post. Keep going! You're doing great!
Fuck that's awesome in a scary sort of way dude is tickling 190 mph and without getting fifth gear. There is a point when breaking the laws of the road is daring, but this is getting into the laws of physics...
@GTXsonstnix Japanese bike manufacturers had a gentleman's agreement that bikes would be limited to 186mph. To do this Suzuki calculates the speed in 6th gear from the rpms and then cuts power at a certain value. To get around this you keep it in 5th and put a smile on. You see he was doing 320 kph in 5th which I believe is faster than 186 mph.
@bierowns Im pretty sure that car was doing what we call "passing". Its what normal speed cars do to go safely around others. This guy was haulin it at 140mph...
for all those who are commenting on the turn signal being on, is because over seas that is to indicate to others that you are passing un like in the usa. PROPS!!!! to the rider!!!!
@ 1:00 is the reason why you should go for ABS if you want to start to drive like that on public roads! But good reaction and braking technique displayed! :)
Bet all those folks he's passing think 'wow this dude must really have to shit bad or something that he's in such a hurry!'. Oh, and that digital gear indicator display reminds me of the '79 Suzuki GS750 I had many many years back. It came stock with that feature, just in a much smaller package.
...and we're still waiting for some pearls of your wisdom on the subject of forced grammar. Please enlighten us oh great one. Your comments just oooze intelligent insights...!
@ghoul64 --As a bike rider (and hot rodder) myself I LOVE speed, but not at the risk of injuring others. Like many of you I've lost too many friends and family to biking accidents so I'm glad this guy didn't get hurt (or hurt someone else), but he shouldn't be doing this on public roads.
Whoa, nelly! I give that comment an 8 out of 10! Good job! That actually made me chuckle. That would have been a 9 had you not continued to try to break through the stage, but we're working on it! We can do this! Try again!
Actually, yes, people have been able to repeatedly pull sub 3 second 0-60 times in a GT-R. That is what the car is famous for. They make it super easy. You just get your buttons in the right settings, floor gas, release brake, instant sub 3 second 0-60. This, of course, needs to be done at sea level. A Hayabusa absolutely cannot do that. Maybe 5 seconds but you can only do so much with (190?) horsepower. A GT-R has way more.
Oh boy, more commentary on who I must be! This is juicy, and, a new noun! This time, it is "possum." What a creative use of nouns! I am going to give you a pat on your back. Just imagine me patting your back. Doesn't it feel great? Keep continuing to evade the topic with more insults and non sequiturs. I'll sit back and eagerly wait for more.
For everyone out there saying the speedo is a fake or he is not really accelerating that fast, I can confirm that this video is real. I ride a 06' GSX-R 1000 and it does 140 in first at 13000 RPM. A Busa is quite a bit more powerful and could quite easily do this
Those numbers are done in a clutch-burning fashion with tons and tons of weight on the handlebars, way more than any human could possibly add. They are also done with special tires and weight reduction, and in no way reflect actual performance. You can do the same to any car, and a lamborghini is no different.
Why are people saying "It's in Germany, there is no speed limit" Even the AUTOBAHN (which I assume you are talking about which you require your own custom license for) HAS a bloody speed limit. A LOT of spots have a 70-75MPH limit. And don't just say "Germany" say "AUTOBAHN" it's a bloody highway, and a lot of people really misinterpret it's rules.
Just look at any car show and every single time they spank the motorbike around the track and even in the straights. Motorcycles are fun toys, but that is about it. That engine absolutely cannot compare to the traction of 4 wheels and the aerodynamics of a smooth body.
i did 190 mph on mine what i thought was great was so smooth and efortless wicked bike im sure someone will shott me down but just for what i got great bike never missed a beat or ever let me down always done what i asked it to within my capabilites and i can ride. Stay upright guys.
A quick search on youtube will show you that bikes, even 600's, will out accelerate most cars - even Lamborghini's. Power to weight ratio plays a huge part. While the lambo may have significantly more horsepower, it also weighs a large amount more as well. The lambo will have a better top speed but the bike can do 0-100mph much faster.
exactly!... my friend offered me to ride his ducatti 848 and i was as gentle with the gas as i could and i almost shit my pants! God that thing takes off fast!
When riding this sort of bike, do you have to compensate for wind/gusts? Always wanted to get a motorbike but feel they're too unpredictable in certain weather conditions. Might still get one anyway at some point though.
There is a problem - he passed a VW Golf that was doing 230+ kph @ 3:10 & the busa was running 260 kph. Also, showing 318 kph in 5th (197mph) is unlikely unless it was turbo. I call BS, speedo gearing or something was altered.
I have another question for you, If you get two olympic sprinters (both can achieve similar times over 200 metres) and have one of the sprinters pull a 250 pound weight(its on wheels) behind them and race them against the other sprinter who has to pull no weight. Which sprinter would win? I know it's an odd question but i'm just curious to see what you think.
This comment is so excite to read! I am literally shaking! I don't know why you would want someone to sit on an owl. That is animal abuse. I mean, it depends on how poofy the owl is. If the owl's feathers are sufficiently fluffed, then it would be a nice and decent chair, but you would have to make sure that the owl is not being abuse.
I have to agree with Stephan Schrieber 100%. I don't care if this guy wants to drive this fast and risk his life...do what you will, just don't do it on a public road where you can kill innocent people going about their normal daily business. Do this on a race track where people are paid to keep the track more clear of rubble and debris that could cause your bike to lay down, and where people are equiped to quickly come help if you wreck (most likely you would be dead, but resposne would be immediate versus a rescue squad taking 10-15 minutes to arrive.) Depending on where you are, the response times could be much longer. I was on the local rescue squad for 12 years and because of location, our response time would sometimes be over an hour from the time the accident was found, reported and we could dispatch to the scene. You have the right to risk your own life, but not everybody elses.
Not everyone who owns one of these bikes rides them like this. I have the exact same bike. I just like a bike with a lot of power in reserve, which can cover big distances easily and in relative comfort, and easily keep you at the front of the queue!
Again, having the left blinker on in the left lane signifies get f uck out of the way on the autobahn. It basically means you are really hauling ass in the fast lane and it warns other drivers ahead not to cut you off.
As a teen many years ago, this was one of my favourites video ever on TH-cam, obsessed with acceleration videos. Today, many years later I still enjoy it, the camera quality gives it also something special, nostalgic basically.
