Picked up the Neotec 3 and love it. Replaced my old Neotec 1, which other than being old was very comparable imo, not a massive upgrade. The one thing i dislike the most is the visor opens from the middle of the face, i prefered on the side.

Very good and useful comparison. There is a small mistake in the presentation, at minute 0:57 it should be Neotec 2 on the left and Neotec 3 on the right.

Interesting video that I was waiting for. I'm going for the Neotec 3 with your bundle discount with the SRL-3 system!

Great review and I’ve just purchased the Neotec 3 from you to replace the Neotec 2 that I also purchased from you 2.5yrs ago that’s been perfect for me. Upgraded as I value the higher safety certification, bug filter and the much easier to use centred visor locking mechanism.

would you say the Neotec 3 is quieter than the Neotec 2 while driving? I am concerned about the air noise levels, thanks!

Dont presume the 3 will fit exactly like the 2. The 2 was perfect out of the box for me. The 3 in the same size has caused pressure point issues sadly where i can only wear it for 30 minutes at a time. Hopefully this will eventually pass as the helmet wears but I'm not confident. Allegedly shoei put out a press release staing that were developing an adatper kit for the SRL 2 to fit the neotec 3. I don't see how as I have both and couldnt wait for the kit

It seems entirely possible that the safety of these helmets are identical and the only difference is the certification sticker.

Can't be, otherwise the 2 would have passed the new standard.

i had a neotec 2, got a neotec 3 today. Is it just me, or does the 3 fit a tiny bit larger than the 2?

Nice video! I´d appreciate if somebody that already had the Neotec 2 can comment about the noise level and water ingress while raining. I have been using Neotec 1, then Neotec 2, but both are quite noisy and in both I had water getting inside the helmet even when closed. Thanks!

Do you use hearing protection? If not, you should. Having said that, I use hearing protection with SNR-39 and my Neotec-II is not noisy.

Neotec 2 user here, noise level is definitely not the loudest, with a decent riding ear plugs you can't hear the wind at all, I do rec alpine motosafe. But it depends on your bike, cause I rode it using a scooter and CB400, on the CB400 it was more silent, I believe cause the buffeting of the wind when riding the scooter. During rain I never really noticed any rain issue.

I have the 2 and it has been great. Yes, it may seem a bit noisy but if you've ridden with many different helmets over the years like I have, rest assured this IS a very quiet helmet.
as to the water intrusion, I try NOT to ride a bunch in the rain but have done it with this helmet, the only time I got some water in was more due to me opening and closing the visor a bit and then only a drop or two came in. The helmet was really snug when new but after about 15 short rides it loosened up. The racket is the best, screw those D rings, being able to hitch and unhitch with or without gloves on is great. I wish there were more selection in colors but sadly, no. That said, I just bought a new bike and now have two, and two different colors so I just bought my 2nd Neotec 2 , i saw everything about the Neotec 3 and really no difference so I stuck with what I knew. Good Luck.

Forget the 3. Can’t find one in a store I can try on. Just bought another 2. Plus you gotta spend another 350 for a new Sena. Sorry Japan.

Hi , Why doesn't Shoei, in addition to their comfort and natural balance on the head, try to reduce the weight of its Neotecs a little? I would say that a 1500grs, to 1600grs with the Bluetooth kit installed will be very appreciable !

I agree. I think they are trying to consider several items and trying to sacrifice to the best overall. If they make it safety certified to pass certain and special certifications then the helmet gets heavier, If they make it with ultra light carbon Kevlar then the price of the helmet gets crazy expensive on an already expensive one.

I have upgraded from n1 to n3. The front vent on n3 is almost non existent - no air inside the helmet in comparison to n1 . Big disappointment… another disappointment is closing mechanism which allows to block visor in the first patio. much higher than in n1 - the edge of visor is on my vision line. I will be selling n3 and buying n2 - at least n2 has a proper chin vent

    • @roberthicks3706
      @roberthicks3706 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'll agree the n3 really doesn't have enough air coming which sucks. Alittle rain and cooler air will fog up till you Crack the visor then ok cardo system works great with helmet

Narp! I have a RF1200, but it gets way too hot as airflow sucks, and looking at a modular helmet, and looks like Shoei is off the table now; the HJC RPHA 91 Carbon is looking like the better option and way cheaper than a Shoei Neotec.
