His drums always sound dynamite. I could listen to Todd all day and night. His technique is like breathing to him. He is one of the top musicians I’d want to meet.
What I really like about Todd Sucherman, is that he seems like a really friendly guy, and explains everything so well - and plays so fantastic. Thank you so much for this gold material 😊
Thanks Todd for the lesson(s)... I always wanted to learn to play. But health issues never allowed it. Still enjoy watching you show us... Stay blessed...🥁🎶🙂
Dave Masse yeah, he does. And with that, with that illusion, I find myself intrigued enough to get behind the cans and set on down to try it. Certainly an inspiration.
DANG! That is great. I can do this roll now. Only needed to have it described well, which he does. Great teacher. I have never known of a drummer to use the intended emotion from the song to power the feel of the song. Very important technique that involves studying and knowing the song well. Typical Todd.
Todd, could you demonstrate this using open grip so the left hand is striking the hi hat on the left side? I was disappointed to learn you weren't going to make our master class in Minneapolis.... but looking forward to the reschedule! Crash
I recently discovered Todd after seeing some of his Styx videos on TH-cam. He is rapidly becoming one of my favourite drummers. Can this video/instruction be purchased? I am a middle aged guy who would love to get into drumming again. This is exciting and inspirational playing that is explained in such a digestible manner!!! Todd is amazing…
Yes! The Rock Drumming Masterclass course can be purchased without Drumeo membership at the link. Hope it helps! www.drumeo.com/drumshop/rock-drumming-masterclass/
@@toddsucherman Thanks Todd! Your playing is amazing and the dexterity you have with traditional grip really amazes me. I have never understood or been comfortable with it but maybe I can learn! hey Todd( if this is todd).......do you go over set up of the entire kit?...seat height, seat distance from bass drum pedals, snare height, cymbal set up for arm reach, and even for single bass drum, double pedal, how you sit with where your body aims, with comparison to the bass drum ,...is your chest and bass drum front, square to the audience....things that happen in set up, before you start playing....thanks...
signals34 Don’t wanna speak for him, but he does go over some of this in his Drumeo lesson, as in snare height, bass drum positioning, and how it affects posture and your setup. However, he leaves a lot up to each person to figure out since it’s all preference and what feels best.

Possibly a stupid question , but I've noticed that your "clear" Remo Emperors are hazy/milky looking...I've played clear Emps for years and they have always been clear as glass minus stick marks. What gives?
@@toddsucherman I may take you up on that. I think I'm being held back by bad technique and little things keeping me from being an expert drummer vs intermediate.

Todd your a master at the kit, what are you doing wearing that big watch weighing your wrist down & throwing the weight balance off? It is doing that! Your ming and body has to counter act that.

I don’t even drum. I’m just love his teaching (gradually building skills and analogies)and of course his drumming.
You’re a great teacher
Todd, you have exceptional command of the Moeller technique! I used to love Jim Chapin's impromptu demonstrations of this at NAMM. 💖
I had one lesson with Jim-- a memorable guy indeed!
