Or, he sat on his hands and stayed North of the neck for as long as possible. He then came South and (figuring the warring was over) tried to dictate terms in the capital. Secured fiefdoms and positions of status for all the baseborn lads and second sons who came with him. Leveraged the life of Lord Corlys to secure a noble southern bride. Fucked off when it became evident he couldn’t squeeze anything more out of the gig. Didn’t do a single thing for Rhaenyra whilst she was alive? Needed convincing to uphold House Stark’s vow to defend her claim? Traitor in my opinion. Perhaps even a secret Green.
He's neither traitor no secret green. Just your average politician hedging his bets Cregan was right not to rush his men south especially when that maniac Aemond was burning down Blacks left and right in the Riverlands. Cregan as a Lord had a duty to protect his people and none of that involved rushing south to get his men bathed by dragonflame because one inbred depraved incompetent idiot was fighting another inbred depraved incompetent idiot over a fancy chair. It was politic to let the morons weaken one another before making his move I mean these people had power, wealth and dragons and all they had to do to preserve it was not to fuck things up. Instead they fucked things up and crippled their house for generations after.
Not a traitor, the Starks are not oathbreakers (generally), but he is cunning and opportunistic. He is the sole winner of the Dance and managed to secure peace and put the whole conflict to rest. He basically severed the cycle of feuds and vengeance the noble houses would've been trapped in after deaths of Aegon 2 and Rhaenyra.
@@fidalf99 Just because Ned was “noble” to a fault (which lead to his death) and Robb seemed a pretty decent fellow, don’t assume all their forebears were beyond a bit of scheming. Those books (the Rogue Prince and the Princess and the Queen) aren’t told from the third-person limited perspective, they are spun by the author and his sources (most of whom were Maesters, batting for the Green faction). Yeah but that would take away from the whole concept of the North being a huge, vast kingdom with an army that takes months to actually gather. In A Game of Thrones (the book), Robb takes months to gather his army before he marches south... and even then his army is still not in full strength. There are still men coming to Winterfell by the time that he gets to Moat Caitlin, and Bran even marvels at the bright banners and shaggy men pouring into the castle yard.

I heard the show was really good.
👌🏾⭕️👍🏾
For the algorithm
What an amazing character!! They better make him a HUGE deal in the show!
5:38 huh? when did the show become canon?
The writers and the showrunner are going around screaming it at the top of rooftops... but I agree - I wouldn't say that this show is book-accurate in a lot of ways. Changing Alicent's age is already an incidiction of deviating from the book, so Cregan's storyline might also be another deviation... but we'll see if it's a good one. 😓
Not exactly a just man….he spared Corlys over a women even though he admitted to the poisoning but all the others were killed 😂
Actually Corlys was forgiven by Aegon the Third.
@@TheGoodLuc of course he was forgiven by aegon the third he took out the guy who had the previous job n was an enemy to his mother lol that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be executed if everyone else who took a part in the poisoning were killed
@@jjosifovic True. I'll banish him to the Wall, though.
I'd like to think the lady convinced him of the man's usefulness. She just used a sweeter tone and softer words to reason with Cregan.
Cregan appeared in episode 2 of Hot D only for 4 minutes and 12 seconds and he stole the episode. Starks are something else.
Agreed!!
I think it’s just the whole mystery of the North in general + the fact that Starks have been there for thousands of years, meanwhile it’s only been 3 centuries since The Conqueror. It’s basically the blink of an eye in comparison to how long the Starks have been ruling the North - just a little footnote in their history books, whereas for everyone else, it’s their entire history.
Crazy badasses!
0:01 he’s a guy with a cool fucking name I know that. I am going to now name one of my Space Marine sargents Creagan.
Brothers being brothers
8:32 I cannot wait for this scene. I Can’t stand the guy.. 😅
Why does everyone hate him so much?
I like your stuff gd work fam
Thank you 💚
Cregan was never regent to Aegon III.
Why even mention weird internet gay shipping?
Cregan must be rolling in his grave million times over seeing how dumb his descendants had become during ASOIAF
You mean to tell me that we’ve had all this cool stuff happening elsewhere, but all we’ve gotten is this bore they’ve given us in HOD ? I’d rather see all of this going on rather than Daemon hallucinating at Harrenhall
The Starks deserve a history book the same as House Targaryen, there the opposite of them and have rich history and lore
“Cregan and Jacaerys were lovers!”🥴
Freaking weirdos, I swear.
Fr
why does he punish poisoners???? aegon 2 is evil and he also wants to kill him...
yea why would two young men like, respect and value each other as brothers? pppft they must be lovers.
It's truly amazing that someone wrote all this..
Bro spoiler warnings…the fuck?
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Cregan in HOTD. I hope they at least feature more of him with Jacaerys since they were supposed to have become really close. They showed them getting along alright at the Wall, but nothing like the book does, where they had supposedly become like brothers over the months that Jacaerys spent in the North. I'm not sure how much time was supposed to make lapsed in the show. I can imagine the quiet fury that characters like Cregan are famous for upon learning of his death.
You can't trust mushroom... 5 minutes later mushroom said this. 😅
Idk how I've never seen your content before! Great essay on a fascinating character! I'm about to dive into your library. Well done!
Thank you for watching my videos. Hope you stay subscribed for more 😭❤
Bra, where you from? You sound South African. I'll subscribe just for that.
none of them could ever have killed ser criston cole, coz there were big chicks....cregan stark did nothing eventually married the woman and went back to sweet north
Good video 💯
Thank you. 💙
Man it’s crazy every time there is some nice bromance people want it to be « gay »
The part with Cregan executing people with Ice reminds me of Ned in the first season. It turns out he executed an innocent man after all. That would've torn him up. I wouldn't have been surprised if he chose to take the black and ride north over it.
Turns out Andy DID kill his brother
When did prince aemond and cregan stark engage in battle?
I just cannot wait for the show watchers to finally see what I see for Cregan Stark the Old Wolf!
Nothing romantic. Please don’t go there HOTD
HOWEVER
@@RichieAprile45 The amount of people that have noticed this and commented it in the comments section - I might just put it on a shirt 😅
Yeah and then he just left King’s Landing and returned to Winterfell.
4:20 you just know that the show is gonna turn them gay now. 🤦🏽♂️z
Why was he a great warrior if he never even fought in the war
This whole story just got ridiculous with no end.
Lannisters always fucking around and finding out
The only stark I have any love or respect for. Even after the war was pretty much over and the greens were reduced to orphans and widows. He still wanted them punished because he had enough foresight to know that women and children could still pose a threat especially now that the royal family was reduced to the boy king, his two sisters and their cousin the usurpers’ daughter not to mention all their dragons were dead, save for the one wild dragon, cannibal and sheepstealer
House Stark The Realest In It ⚔️👑 🐺 🫡
i guess we will see this part in season 4.
cregan is an honorable man
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 💙
This video didn’t age well. Cause Cregan and Jace scene was disapointing
The show let us down fr. 😭
Love the cuts to the big and bold blue font HOWEVER😂😂
Glad you like it. I had to do it because I noticed how I kept saying the word every time, so... but I think people that watch my videos are just used to it now. 🤣🤣
The Tywin in the north
1:08 Wtf
In the new season of the recent show, I was very surprised to see Mormon missionaries on dragons appear!
Baela Targaryen*
Who did this and why 4:49
What’s with the sWord pronunciation?
A force of habit 😭 Ya'll are really coming after me about it, though 😅
Let's face facts rhaenyras sons are bastards not legitimate Targeyan Aegon is the rightful Blood King
Just your average politician hedging his bets
Cregan was right not to rush his men south especially when that maniac Aemond was burning down Blacks left and right in the Riverlands.
Cregan as a Lord had a duty to protect his people and none of that involved rushing south to get his men bathed by dragonflame because one inbred depraved incompetent idiot was fighting another inbred depraved incompetent idiot over a fancy chair.
It was politic to let the morons weaken one another before making his move
I mean these people had power, wealth and dragons and all they had to do to preserve it was not to fuck things up.

Just because Ned was “noble” to a fault (which lead to his death) and Robb seemed a pretty decent fellow, don’t assume all their forebears were beyond a bit of scheming.
Brandon (Ned’s older brother) was parading around the North sticking it to any bit of quim that succumbed to his charms whilst he was betrothed to Catelyn Tully (that’s oath-breaking) and - evidently - Ned had a dalliance with somebody (perhaps Ashara Dayne) and/or hid a Targaryen with a decent claim to the throne from his King and best friend, so that’s another example of betrayal.
Those books (the Rogue Prince and the Princess and the Queen) aren’t told from the third-person limited perspective, they are spun by the author and his sources (most of whom were Maesters, batting for the Green faction). Read beyond the text, analyse what is purported to be established fact or maybe just watch a few Preston Jacobs videos (dealing with Fire and Blood). ✌🏻
One change that might be cool would be if his main force gets to actually fight
Yeah but that would take away from the whole concept of the North being a huge, vast kingdom with an army that takes months to actually gather. In A Game of Thrones (the book), Robb takes months to gather his army before he marches south... and even then his army is still not in full strength. There are still men coming to Winterfell by the time that he gets to Moat Caitlin, and Bran even marvels at the bright banners and shaggy men pouring into the castle yard.
It was never Cregan's intention for bulk of northern forces to fight in the actual Dance. He was much more cunning than he's given credit for.
Superb video 🙌🏼
1:10 The "w" in "sword" is silent.
My bad, bro 😅
Another Awesome video! 👍
Thank you for watching, fam. 💙
I never read the books. Who TF is "MUSHROOM"???
A dwarf jester at court who supposedly left an account of the events and is one of the sources for the war, the others being a septon (Eustace) and a maester (Munkun). These sources sometimes contradict each other or differ greatly and sometimes agree on what happened. Mushroom is foul mouthed and most interested in "spicy" staff.
HOWEVER
😂😂😭👀
