Crazy how far rc cars have advanced! I remember as a kid having my rc with a wire attached from remote to car. And i thought that was sick lol.
Same. Had a Knight Rider car with a wired remote that did about 2mph, but I thought it was awesome!

I have to say, I am impressed with how well that thing held up. You didn’t cut it any slack and it just kept coming back for more.
Not into RC cars and stuff but had to watch because it's so rare to come across an honest person describing something 💪💪💪
Haven't been involved with RC models since early 80's but I found the fun bit was actually building them, painting and customising the bodywork. Getting them ready built out of a box takes away at least 50% of the fun of it imho. That said great vid Kev and 58mph, christ alive, I've had real cars in the past that would struggle to do that. 😂
Kev, great video mate - you gave it the beating a durability test deserves 😉 But as I saw in other videos the Fireteam tends to lose some screws from the plate due to the fact that Arrma uses no locktite. It would be great if you could check whether this is the case or not.

Love my Arrmas. Idk why people get butt hurt about people prefer one or another brand. I’m sure people have issues with all RC cars. That’s why it’s a hobby. If it just worked forever nonstop… that would be pretty cool. With the 3 Arrmas I have so far nothing has broke. On any of them (except the tires) blown the tires off all three. I chose between this and the Talion same price I went with the Talion.
Imagine arrma made a staircase just for testing the cars so kev can approve it hahahaha nice vid kev keep up the entertaining contents

Pretty cool. I still have a bunch of vintage RC cars from back in the day. I have 3 Associated RC10s (one in the truck configuration). From Tamiya, I have a Hornet, Bruiser, Monster Beetle, Porsche 959 and Lunch Box. I also have a Marui Hunter and Mugen Bulldog. I had many other cars throughout my old RC car enthusiast history because I used to buy them, fix them up and sell them as a kid.
The Toyota Bruiser is probably the most unique of my collection since it was so expensive back in the day. I think it cost over $300 and the batter was like another $100 and it required a 4-channel controller. It still runs too... took it out a few years ago. As a kid, I used to tow myself around the neighborhood on my skateboard with it :)
Always think your vids are great, always informative and fun to watch. Thank you for taking the time out to help us with the decision if a car or piece of kit is worth buying with the Kev test.

Id say its worth the money. I mean not everyone is going to go full tilt with an expensive item like this. Pretty impressive speed and durability. It almost looks like it levels itself out mid air, which tells me its very well balanced in weight. Id buy it if I had the expendable cash.
you can control the car mid air through throttle/braking as long as its awd with big wheels and short wheelbase

You're 100% correct. Try to backflip off a tree, and it just runs straight up 6 feet, turns and somehow flattens out in the air to land on its wheels. Anyone who sees this, keep in mind it has a long wheelbase and smaller tires, not a stunt machine, but the rear brake is a blast.
Have to be the best "use / abuse" review I've ever watched. No nonsense and reflecting what most people would put their cars through (eventually). 😀👍

I think the Bug body is a great idea. I wanted to like it way more a few weeks ago when it was being teased but we didn’t know what it was yet. I wish they would have taken a more Lasernut approach. I just can’t get past the G.I. Joes with guns. I mean, really?!? Also, it’s too expensive. I’d buy a Mojave (or any other 6s Arrma) every day and twice on Sunday instead of dropping so much more on this one. Thanks for a great video, and for punishing the heck out of it. Surprised how great it held up.

I've only owned 2S and 3S Traxxas cars until now, but I've wanted to get something 6S that's big and fast and scale and stable and tough with big tires. Unfortunately, I don't think Traxxas has anything that checks all of those boxes. X-Maxx is missing the stability, Sledge is missing the scale look, etc. The Fireteam seems to have it all, and I LOVE the way it looks!
seriously impressed that took a pounding, I built a 1/5 scale Baja and first run out it flipped about 10 times and snapped all the steering and front wishbones, replaced them all with metal pieces and sold it... LOL..

Very impressive durability. I have had rc that couldn't take a single landing like that without snapping all the connectors from wheel to chassis.
Bashed real good! A bug body would be sweet on it!! I am wondering if that roll cage body actually helps with the chassis not flexing or when you land on the top of the body the roll cage helps protect the chassis from impacts why it was hard to bend the chassis?

Hey Kev, do you ever adjust the shocks before you take a truck out like this? Is it better to slap the chassis or blow off the shock caps?

They are mostly the same except arrma has a metal chasis , so it bends , I have a kraton and a infraction , and like all of my cars it just depends on what you want and what you like .

Don't normally comment but wanted to say thanks for keeping it real and being honest. I expected a bent chassis as much as you did LOL. LOVE my Kraton's! Oh yeah speaking of that. My son managed to snap an M2C kraton chassis completely in half up at the front bulkhead................... Clean snap.
I love Arrma as much as the next guy. But the fact that Kev checked the chassis after just the staircase made me laugh so hard
Fun vid Kev! Yeah not exactly my thing either, it does go well though, and I thought the chassis stood up well considering.
Maybe a change of wheels/tires too.
It's down to the new design of the body and how the body is connected to the chassis. It's not just a hollow body. It's made up of triangulated structures underneath, making it more flexible and durable.

I'd always prefer 100% honesty I do expect most things like RC cars and planes and stuff to break when you use them it's why we get upgrade parts companies need to understand that you're not building a tank it's an RC car it most likely will break Love your channel kav

Have you tried driving some of the arrma's with the chassis bent until it causes a problem? If be curious after they're bent a bit how long till it creates a problem with driveline etc? Seems silly but I wonder if maybe they bend a bit till there is pressure on the braces and then stop, and if so whether that bend would become a bigger issue. Great videos!!
Interesting point. Kev still got 58mph with the slightly bent chassis and RCDude81 was still ripping his with a bent chassis.

The fact that they charge this much and it doesn’t come with the dx3 remote and avc receiver is absurd.
Well. Why would you want avc on a car thats meant for “drifting” and when this car is a pro-only kinda car. Im not an arrma fanboy but its just upsetting to see this good of a car get a bad review because it doesn’t have steering assist for babies.

Great vid, Kev. I've been waiting for your HONEST review of the arrma fireteam before I pull the trigger and spend about $800. Got tired of hearing all the fan girls.... I mean fan boys rave about it. If it can handle Kevin's abuse, it must be a good product. I think I'll pull the trigger now and get one of my own. M2C needs to release a chassis brace for it like they have for the X-Maxx. Your honest opinion is always greatly appreciated.

I've been having a lot of fun with my crawler but I have dirt bike jumps less than a 5 minute walk from my house and have been wanting something with a bit more speed. What would you reccomend for taking a lot of jumps? Getting a fair bit of air seems fun but I think my main want would be durability, I know I'll get some breakage but I don't want it to be constantly breaking.
Kev early you should upgrade your wltoys k989 to the max with banggood special parts.(If you have time😄)

It seems to fly really really well.
The amount of bend in the chassis considering the massively bad landing at the skatepart seems to be acceptable.

Last time I had one was an opel/Vauxhall kadet GSI about 35 years ago top speed about 15 mph .. the joystick was with two sticks.. I don’t know if I even can drive with that wheel 😅 ..

All this time later and i haven't met anyone who owns one and doesn't like it. It's not my biggest, fastest, most expensive, or best looking but it's my favorite. I've went thru 2 sets of body panels and have a big rock 6s body waiting to go on it but i always wanna play with it instead of wrench on it.
