PF and FF definitely seemed to demand the most attention. Both were super fun to play for totally different reasons
I couldn't get that ball up the right ramp to save my life on Foo fighters but the wife on the other hand kept nailing it and owning my ass every game we played lol

From the comments I've seen from people on FB who've played it they thought it shot pretty good and liked it. So I'm guessin Cary mighta liked it he'd prob just say it sucked and be done with it. 🤷♂

Great video Cary. Great meeting you as well. I did make it up to JJ,s room and played the galactic tank game with the guys up there. This was my first time there and it was excellent. I did play your Johnny game and I will say it was a fantastic piece and your restore on it was right on. Thanks for bringing it.

JJs room was awesome you missed out. Playing with Eric on Godfather was cool. My wife really enjoyed GTF up there. She's split between GTF and Alien since we already have a Pulp LE on order. Thanks to JJ though he looked tired.

Alien is so, so good. I've owned a lot of games... and it's bolted for me (I'm lucky though, I never have problems with mine, which apparently some ppl have...). It seriously should be a top 10 game. I think the negativity surrounding build quality (again, I've been lucky, 0 issues in over a year) and what happened with Heighway really hurt this phenomenal game. So good!
@@bengosselin8005 That is awesome to hear. My wife will appreciate hearing that. Having 3 spooky games only Alice Copper is rock solid but that's because I worked like hell and it didn't have all the servos.
Alien is a top 10 game. Unlike rush, I want to continue to play even though I have close to 1 billion scores. Cause the journey to get there is extremely fun
@@bengosselin8005 Definitely agree with you on that!..My LV has had no real issues, and is easily the top 1 or 2 pin in my 23 pin collection (and they are no slouches either, including MMr LE and DP Premium).
I played almost all the new games but I also caught up on last 2 years games too. I got to try god father, GTF, Pulp Fiction, Foo fighters, Led Zeppelin, Ninja Turtles, Rick and Morty, Queen, Advengers. All new to me. I already own Premium Godzilla and now Premium Foo Fighters. Stern is still at the top of my list as far as flow, feel and whole package. I did like Pulp Fiction and Godfather too.

That cliffhanger!!! Foo fighters is my favorite of the new games. I felt there was a little bit of pumped up hype around PF with only 4 games. (I see me playing a Bond pro!)

I saw you at the show, you seem very serious most of the time 😀.
My thoughts about the machines:
Godfather: Had 2-3 games, was OK but there is a real mean shoot over a right orbit. If you don't hit the left upper flipper it drains right through the middle. Very frustrating. Other than that was really nice looking but a general meh. I enjoyed Toy Story more with only 1 try.
Foo fighers: Excellent. The pro version without the upper playfield lets you see where you shoot at with the right upper flipper, but the center toy missing is a deal breaker. I never saw a game with such original layout and nice flow.
Pulp fiction: only 4 Machines? Really? I had only 1 game and did well, really enjoyed it.
Galactic Tank Force: Only tried it once, seems fine. the LED sides do nothing for me, but I want to try it again. Sadly in Europe I doubt I get another chance.
Celts: NOPE. the toy is too close, I did not enjoy it.
Fathom: looks old but is packed. Wanna try it again, shoots good.
Scooby: What is it with Americans and scooby doo? the lines to play it were eternal, I tried it once and I did not like it. I kept hitting posts, and since all shots are covered I felt that I was playing Episode one, not seeing where the ball goes.
Multimorphic: Did not try their newest game, I like the concept of the machines but they all seem the same, a lot of free space on the lower playfields, far away shots, prone to failures. The lines were too long and my time there limited.
Queen: Seems good, Love the music and the gameplay was ok.
If I have to choose only one it would be close between Foo Fighters and Pulp Fiction
Then Queen, GTF, GF, SD, Fathom, and the rest.
I hope I can go again another year.

I’ve been talking to a friend about pinball and letting him play GZ at my house and he couldn’t find a game EVERYONE in the house could agree on. They all unanimously agreed on Scooby-doo immediately and they bought a CE at the show. I bought a FF pro a week ago and even I had to take a step back after playing it and consider scooby myself. I fear that without the toys and power coated Ramps though that games going to lose a step on anything not a CE
I just ordered Scooby Doo as my first pinball machine in the collection 😁 I'm excited as heck so Is the wife she is crazy abt Scooby lol!
Well here's my review
1. FF - Stole the show. Best new game in the house period. I love everything about it. I can't fault it. What I can say is every game played differently. Some of them I could hit all the shots, some of them I couldn't hit any of the shots and a lot of in-between. That's a matter of tuning and not game design. How many games did Stern bring 25-30? It was a lot, nobody is going to get that many games perfectly set up in the time allotted. What I can say is that they were all fun to play.
2. PF - It's a great game, easily 2nd best. The fact that the lines were 30 minutes long even before the damn show opened every day was a clear indication it's a winner. And that JJ didn't bring enough games! Come on JJ, bring more games next time. The lines were painful. I had very few plays on PF as a result, but that isn't going to impact my decision. It's a very solid game and one I would buy.
3. GTF - Started out great, I was very impressed. However the more I played it the more I realized the game has issues and likely isn't ready. The tank constantly kicks balls up and over the "Shield" and flippers. The two mini-posts under the flippers continually trap balls with your only option being to lose the ball. The video cut scenes were okay, once, then became obvious that they didn't fit the game. The overall theme, save the Ice Cream? Really? Again it was okay at first then you start thinking about things. I do love the UFO and the cow. That's a keeper for sure. No I don't care to discuss the LE with the "turret and tank treads". It's a gimmick and not a very good one. There's more, but I'll stop there. Still despite all of that it was still my #3. If it were my game I would find a way to disable the dumb video clips and cut down on some of the other delays. GTF is by far American Pinballs best game yet so that's a good thing.
4. TGF - It's pretty, it's okay, it's 4th place for me. I just didn't find myself interested. It does have some good shots, but it's clearly a fan layout good or bad. It's a solid player it just didn't hold my attention. Did I mention it was pretty? Yup that pretty much sums it up. For me anyway.
5. SD - I like the way it looked. Love the green, love the LED light shows. The game play... well I expected it to be slow and I wasn't disappointed. The lower fan layout is literally just a bunch of lanes. That's it. I disliked that you couldn't see ANYTHING under the top 1/3 of the lower play field. Shot the ball up a lane, watch it disappear and then wait for it to come back via another lane or a tube, or show up in the upper playfield. Fun right? Nope. The upper play field is slow as well. The music was slow and very repetitive. The game will put most of you to sleep. It certainly put me to sleep.
Other anecdotal notes. Every machine was having issues by the end of the show. One PF had a sleepy pop bumper. A FF reset on us another was spitting out extra balls constantly likely due to a switch or sensor not working properly, but hey these games were getting hammered HAMMERED non-stop for days. GTF's were clearly having issues as well. It was grueling. Heck I was beyond wore out. A bit of love and these games will be right as rain again.
That's my breakdown. I'm sure I missed things, things I couldn't be bothered boring you with, but that's how I ranked them.

Wish I knew who you were before TPF. I would have said hello. I bought the Rocky and Bullwinkle there. I only played the new games once or twice since the lines were long. I didn’t play pulp fiction.
That's why I only got a few games on them too - not a fan of 'lines'.
Nice man I got Scooby 69 at home a couple weeks ago. Looking forward to trying these other ones on location when they become available.
This year started great for pinball, all manufacturers presented different approaches to the consumer which is awesome because there’s something for everybody! You love retro? Pick PF you like fast flow? Take FF Want adrenaline? Go with FResistance want to explore deep code? Godfather want a family fan layout? Scooby

I thought the same thing, and I am not a fan of Alice Cooper. Haven’t played Scooby yet though.
Alice is a blast when you get into it. It's a hard shooting game like Houdini. You get good at flipper control and making shots.

Yes, but one game and it went by fast. Not much to say about it except the music has a good beat to it. No where near enough time to develop commentary on it.
I played Scooby and Bond 60th at Lax. Only 2 newer games I played. Scooby was pretty cool, but I didn't think I was every going to drain and I'm not the best Pinball player lol I would still give it a shot down the line. Bond 60th was Fantastic! I digress...
Damn it! The pin I wanted to hear about the most is the one you’re making us wait for. F’n Rick rolled 😂

Excited for Foo Fighters, but hitting posts is something I can seem to not do on certain games. Game Of Thrones is a postfest for me, so if Foo is anything like GoT I am in trouble. I'll have to play this one first for sure!

What about Final Resistance, the people I talked to loved it, especially the sound package.. It's like a TNA 2.0 but not as hard and super fun. I hope you didn't miss that PIN. Was in the Top 3 for me.
got only one game and it went by really quick too. I liked the music, but not enough time spent on the playfield to really mention it.
I was hoping Cary would tell us about it too.
I liked it so much that I ordered a P3. It's really fast. The sound is amazing. Go watch the Buffalo pinball stream of it on TH-cam or twitch.

I really want Scooby-Doo to be good...This is encouraging. Of course I'm concerned about the build quality as well, but we really need a family friendly game in our house. If they add co-op play it's a must buy at that point! Hopefully even with the QC issues they will come through with customer support at least.

In my humble opinion lad the games ranked in this order. Galactic Tank Force, Scooby-Doo, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather and the Foo Fighters. and yes there were a lot of DOA machines there. Never the less it was a proper festival.

So I had to pay, total with taxes, shipping, set up and added 2 yr service warranty to go along with CGC’s great warranty package for the LE, wait for it…..$12,890.00 and I still feel like I scored… what do you think bro? Man I can’t wait, tho I will have to, a long time. Looking at that Foo Fighters pro price, I need to go to next years TOF with cash in hand. I am paying way too much from my closest Stern dealer in OKC. Sure comes with their 2 year service warranty, and my NOS Tron that I bought last year is getting a new ramp as we chat. But I just had to have the Pulp Fiction LE after hearing the team talk about how smooth and collaborative the whole project went… this may even pass Marks best pin in the top 100. Fingers crossed… Cary, I really dig your channel and energy brother. I breed the most amazing labradoodles and if you are ever wanting a pick of a litter, I would do you a good deal. Currently have 4 wk old litter of chocolates. These are the medium size 35-45lbs grown. Best breed I have ever had and this bloodline I have been crafting for the past decade is spectacular. I had the chance to play foo fighters and felt it too easy. Must've had at least 20 achievements. Best score around 70-80 mil I believe. I didn't get that in the first few 007 games. I even completed one city so far.

very well said, and I agree with you..never have a closed mind on a few plays of xp...I know I used to hate Stranger things, but after a while, I started loving it..thankfully they are doing another run of Premiums ! YMMV, as everyone is different, and has different attitudes on first impressions, gameplay, etc..in the home, i bet it will become her favorite, lol.
On godfather, I kept having an issue with the upper flipper interfering with the ball that was shot from the left lower flipper. Was annoying, but the game was enjoyable beyond that. Would I buy one (no). Foo is great and I bought on of the on site TPF Pro's (which only had 500 lifetime plays on it after the show...not bad! ..and not a scratch on it). My only complaint is the missing goodie bag spares/extra that was missing from all Stern Foo games. Distro is working with Stern on getting those. I probably would have gotten a Scooby, as my wife would have also rather had it. Pulp was great. Not a fan of GTF. FYI, Now I understand your game play with myself (and your buddies) was a bit underpar, when I heard you say you had hit the Jaeger, lol. Fun playing with ya regardless. - Brad E.

Someone else’s review of a game you should take with a grain of salt, I absolutely Love ❤Rick Morty and play it every day for the past 18-months straight!! I think it’s absolutely amazing pinball machine that never gets old!!! But alot of people think it’s horrible!!! Oh Well !!! That’s why there are 1,000’s of games to choose from!!!!

GTF was a flawed game imo. It had real bad dimpling by the end of the weekend. but thats because the tank was getting bent, everytime you hit those targets the ball was hard bouncing off the glass on repeat.

Foo fighthers doesnt look like a good design. Godfather design and game looks much better to me

Girlfriend and I didn't care for Foo at all and we played the Pro and Premium. Really like Godfather (have CE ordered), Scooby (CE ordered) and Pulp Fiction (SE ordered)
