Somewhere in Texas Cary is still trying to start his chainsaw..
You mean Stihl trying
@arcadesurvival8469 hahaha Bravo good sir! 😅🤣🤣
What has Texas become.
My biggest worry with Spooky was the amount of mechanical issues reported on Pinside when Halloween released. Since I don’t have the same repair skills as Cary and probably whomever is reading this comment, I have to be more cautious. These releases do look awesome though.
Scooby Doo is said to be a mechanical nightmare as well.
@@nkyryrymost had zero issues myself included and I was very early build. There were probably 3-5 people on the thread that had multiple issues requiring more than basic repair skills to identify. If you can’t diagnose spooky will send you parts to swap until it’s good after walking you through troubleshooting.
@@mcnillerandsons7906 that’s encouraging to hear. They get bashed a lot.
Exactly. Im buying one that has had 500 plays, has been dialed in and all the little issues fixed 😎
I had to sell my Rick and Morty because the game was so hard to dial in the side shot.
Looney tunes was a big of my childhood, I'm excited to play this pin. Texas chainsaw didn't interest me. Those 4 flipper combo shots look fantastic. I put Looney tunes in my wishlist with Medieval madness remake, Pirates of Caribbean JJ, and White Water.
Don't like the overall pink/red color of the playfield. Alien is much better!
I'm excited for spooky because they are producing non band titles. Maybe Stern and jj will realize they have overdone bands.
Are there any new machines which use Dot Matrix Displays or other older type?
I really dislike the idea of having an LCD in a pinball. Equally "too perfect" sound effects. I want it to sound like a pinball machine, not a computer...
Too much to ask.
don't see that happening in the current environment. Pulp fiction is the closest to old school we have seen in modern times.
Loony Tunes by far.. Halloween if it's the last;2 by a long shot
X-Men: The Animated Series was definitely one of the best cartoons ever!! Still holds up today.
Laughed my ass off in the opening. That was literally the first thing I thought of when chopping up with a chainsaw. Well done sir! Too funny!
Spooky has some very cool machines! im literally debating on purchasing the Scooby Doo collectors edition! but idk i keep hearing mixed things about some reliability issues from spooky, yet again any company who makes pin could have a few problems here & there etc,,so idk which pin to purchase first for my collection but its definitely between Scooby or bad cats - or funhouse 😅 decisions fs!
If I would by a Spooky game - it would be Chainsaw. I really enjoyed it at TPF.
Lets also not sleep on the fact that Spooky's top end loaded edition is the same price point as Stern's midline. Thats a win.
And and to that point you don't lose cool mechs by going the lower teirs like you do on other manufacturers.
Tobe Hooper, creator and director of TCM, was a friend back in the early 1970s in Austin. It was the original ridiculous horror movie, in which every victim made the stupid choice that provoked an encounter with the bad guy. In its time, it was a new level of violence for horror movies, which had usually focused on Dracula, Wolfman, etc. or something from outer space, such as The Blob. He made the movie for $140,00 & it, of course made millions. That said, I would be more likely to buy Looney Tunes!
If you can use the same layout for a 1960s cartoon and a horror movie, in my opinion it loses some of the magic…..
Layout doesn't determine a theme. The mechs and added features do. That's what I like about it. A bare Whitewood can technically be anything. It's how you implement the theme that matters. i.e. Meat grinder, the freezer, and of course art.
Cary, respect your opinion, but still have to say it’s somewhat of a slippery slope long term. An example I think of is SUV design….these days you can’t tell a Toyota from a Chevrolet from a Maserati etc. etc. Still having a hard time believing that layout is generic and can be trumped by theme and mech. Think layout/theme/devices is a “holy trinity”…. But hey, appreciate your take on it nonetheless - keep up the good work!
@lobsterman5786 how dare you throw a 'cargument' at me! Cars have much more options than designers do on a 4" piece of wood. :)
Awesome video mate. I'm still laughing 😂😂😂😂 well done. I believe I shall be adding Looney Toons to my collection Acme here I come...
Great take and I don't disagree.
Stern can learn a lot here. Saw the stream when the Spooky team said they have access to the ENTIRE film. If the past predicts the future and the Jaws rumors are true, Stern will license the Jaws name and the ocean. We'll have a playfield with hammerhead and a pool float. I love my Jurassic Park but have more movie assets on my wall and an old box of junk.
Dude.yo need to take care of Your chainsaw.STIHL is supposed to start on the second pull.todays gas is just crap and it clogs up your carb.Take it to the shop for service and ask them to show you how to start it properly.
I am a STIHL retailer here in 🇫🇮 Finland and yes I am a seriuos pinball enthusiast like you
oh I knew the chainsaw wasn't going to start. lol. It's been a while since I have needed it.
Yeah the saw looked more spookier than the fearured film😂😂😂
I still will say I know it needs more but I love my hot wheels. Only adjusted one switch since I got it new in March 2020. Now when I got my TMNT LE they had to send me a whole new ramp cause the van lock diverter was digging into the ramp and sticking open
Some people are suggesting Spooky Pinball released their games early to beat Stern's Jaws to market. If they really want to take the wind out of Stern's sails, instead of their cartoon-based theme being Looney Tunes, they could have partnered up with Hanna-Barbera again to bring a Jabberjaw (another Frank Welker voiced cartoon) themed game the community!
These Spokey games have great titles but are made with cheap parts and they don’t last.
Stern anyone? 😂
That intro...was funny as hell ! 😂
Tobe Hooper the director of the movie thought he was going to get a PG rating (no PG13) back then and was shocked when he got an R rating
there was stuff that was meant to be comedic but no one picked up on it because everyone was scared shitless so the sequel from the same director and writer (which you should absolutely watch) goes in a very different direction that i wont spoil
Great video..love your reactions to the movie!! You are now a shill for the movie j/k.. Keep up the awesome content. You have the most honest opions that most out there. And I agree...Looney Tunes FTW.
Used to do powder coating for a job. Impact tests are one of many tests that parts go through for quality control. I would assume these parts passed that testing before being out into production. And you're correct time will tell how pretty they stay, but even an ugly ramp is functional and can be recoated as apposed to needing to fully replace cracked plastic. That isn't free from becoming ugly with time as well. I'd definitely be in on a Looney Tunes if i can ever sell the wife on letting me buy a friend for my TMNT finally 😂😂
😂 dude. What a great video
One of the first rules of horror movies is that you have to have the victims trip and fall. How else is a fat old guy wearing a mask going to catch up to a young fit person?
u gotta release the whole movie reaction video! Funny Ass Sh$t!
well they cant get any worse,Spooky is hot garbage
Good perception! TCM was a comedy essentially but the mass audience didn’t see that so TCM 2 was a straight up comedy
Cary watch the 2nd movie!!!! It is sooo much better.... 😂, we need your re actions for that
Hey Cary! I’m both a Looney Tunes fan and a Texas chainsaw massacre fan. As you said, the original Texas chainsaw massacre was a big hit when it first came out because of the time period and it was the only beast on the block like it. The follow up movies that were done more recently (remakes, prequels, etc) are much more interesting and terrifying in ways. I see Spooky making a good call using the OG as the model. I suggest reviewing the one with McConaughey to represent the best of the franchise. All in all, I love your video here and although I’m more of a Looney Tunes fan, having more of a family component to it having involved my children and many more friends throughout the ages, Texas chainsaw massacre is a good fit for Spooky and our industry.
By the way, I have Galactic tank force LE and I just love it. I have JJP, Stern, Dutch, Pinball pins, etc. and Galactic tank force definitely needed more testing before it went out, but the home fixes have been fairly straightforward and the game is simply awesome. I’d love to share more thoughts or even a conversation with you about this to even the playing field. I have become fairly masterful at it and it gets better with every play. There are no more issues and the game is an absolute beast. It’s super fun and keeps me coming back for more. It’s challenging as hell and mean at times but that’s fair when it comes to pins that mean anything.
Thanks again for all you do.

Glad you enjoy your GTF. Been getting mixed reviews...
Get 2 birds stoned at once.
Kids go NUTS for this theme!
I like that they offered the two versions. Like you said hitting 2 demographics.
I agree, Your dead on. This may be a fast sell out. from BILL new sub, ps Thank You.
My only Spooky is ACNC but I might be in on TCM. Love horror themed pins, and this does look good in theme integration and game play.
TCM is what got me into horror but I saw it when I was 6 at a friends house and it scared the crap out of us
Off topic: why do you have covers over your games? Seems especially when they are on in the lineup, hiding the attract mode defeats the purpose. Is that only because you film and it messes up exposures? As for the two themes, nothing wrong with it, but Looney Tunes is so animated and has so many mech possibilities. You don't even have to think about the mechs cuz they are all there in the show. Looney on it's own I think could have had a lot more love in mech design at least.
Darker room helps the puppies be more calm. With a lot of light they start yapping and barking.
Sorry . I did not read your comments.
Hello Cary, the vieuw with the pinball covers is not as nice as your old vieuw.
It will return when the puppies are gone
Here's one for you. LW3 and T2. Very very similar layouts and shots.
I might be in the minority, but I prefer LW3 (with the altered rom - no "okay okay okay")
Try to get one later in the run. Have they confirmed what board they are using? Are they sticking with the warden or something new again? If a new board I'd be hesitant to be an early adopter. They'll get you fixed eventually but after a lot of time invested and frustration
Same board as Scooby and they've made some improvements
22 minutes and not a single shot of the puppies? Puppy baiter.
puppies at 4:46
First! Finally. You're my favorite Pinball TH-camr by a HUGE margin. Thanks for the consistently awesome content.
Wow, thanks!

Most of the sound effects in the promo materials for Looney Tunes are not from the "golden era", as they call it, the age they said they are trying to honor. Most of the sound effects are from later sources, like the Hanna-Barbera library. The error probably goes back to Warner Bros. itself, since they probably provided them. WB doesn't know its own library.
Looney Tunes is further behind on the "Approval for Market" aspect. They have mentioned it. Fingers crossed they get what you want!
Is Ben Heck Coding Both games
no. two different teams. he is on TCM.
Looney Tunes please
Do they, though? (Keep getting better). That's what I thought with Scooby - then I had to work on it for 40+ hours upon receiving the first few weeks. There were some inexcusable mistakes too like one of the flippers on the upper PF not tightened, resulting in me having to take the whole machine apart practically. Oh, and the code still not close to done? A year later.
I'm a busy guy I don't have time in my life to be a pinball tech. I realize there's things that go wrong and come up with high flying metal sphere's flying around, but I'd at least like to get a fully working product delivered and they are pretty much batting .00 on that. It's too bad I'm rooting for them they are a great bunch of guys it seems like, but they really gotta tighten their shit up in the QA dept.
"tighten their shit up". I guess that is figuratively and literally? lol.
Had just as much time spent and continuing to spend on my Elvira’s House of Horrors. Only spent a few hours fixing easy things on my Scooby. Just my experience so far.
@@CaryHardy LOL indeed. That was not the only thing that happened by any means but after like 12 games when the flipper just completely almost came off (it was so loose it was pointing down) I was just like aw come on
@@nightsurfride I've heard when HOH goes bad it really goes bad...the house is quite the mech. Mine never had issues... Hey I'm glad it seems most people got good Scooby's sounds like...I didn't. I'm just going off my experiences, my R&M, Alice Cooper, Halloween and now Scooby all had "above average" to "very, very above average" problems let's say.
R u going to buy one Cary Hardy ?
I don't buy a game until I play it first! So, if I do - it will be a while.
@@CaryHardy so you’re considering it. As am I mon frere !
Ultraman and halloween were the same layout also
Yup, but with these two the inserts are in different spots and shapes. Much more different than people think.
We need a full version of Cary watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre 😂
Stating Spooky and plenty of testing in relation to one another is humorous. Spooky even.
They don't get better. They didn't show the game. They priced everyone to get a CE otherwise all you're getting is a bunch of plastic cutouts. At least in Scooby Doo you had the van and the aqua dude in the upper playfield in all the trims. Then Spooky starts tugging at heart strings on Pinside to get people to purchase their games before anyone flips one or sees a stream or knows anything about the game. It's insane people are spending 10k on something they have no idea about. When they finally get the pin they sell it for a loss at 2-3k because they realize a bunch of things are wrong with the game. It's the Spooky formula and people fall for it every release.
Gameplay video is already up, my friend!
I was able to play them the other day at the factory and ordered one of each! As soon as the licensor finalizes they'll be able to show the gameplay. Games are in production now so they launched. Now maybe they're trying to get out ahead of Sterns next launch too haha. No problem waiting until you play it to make a decision. Games are expensive!
