I never get tired of pinball. I used to spend a lot of quarters on them back in the day.
When my local free play arcades are from $10-$15 a day or for some $20 for the month that's a lot of arcade action. You can do the math. How many visits can I get for the $7000-$15000 one plunks down on just one of these to have in their home? I've found that home arcades are cool for a bit, but mostly go the way of exercise equipment. You get bored very quickly. And they basically become something to show and wow people when they come over. An actual arcade keeps things fresh and alive and you don't have to keep these machines up, which BTW break quite often if they are actually getting used. Just my 2 cents.
How many pinballs do our free arcades have you ask? Depends on which one you go to we have a number of them in town, but from 8-28 pinball machines both new and vintage. Plus all the other arcade cabinets. Just can't beat it.

My wife sticks to the MS Pac-Man multicade, but dad and I share our love of Demolition Man (w color dmd). Only other one currently is Cue Ball Wizard, though I’m looking to move it and find either Star Trek TNG or Iron Maiden LE, pref locally in Atlanta market.
@@wolverine3344 I have Demolition Man in my pinball bank of 16 pins. I bought it for $800 before the prices shot through the roof. ST TNG is a great game and I thought about and it became a choice 25 years between Twilight Zone for $1000 or ST TNG for $1000, I didn't have money to get both so i went for the Twilight Zone. Months later when I had the money it was gone, but I did pickup Indiana Jones for $1200.
This is so COOL!! I love pinball, been playing since 1975 but thought that no one played or was interested in pinball anymore. Great playing field on this machine.
there was a brewery in pittsburgh I went to that had dozens of tables, and a bunch of people huddled around cheering other people on. i think those people were playing for money, or gambling because nobody gets that excited over someone elses quarter. either way. it was a fun time. and pinball was very much alive in that place.
PINBALL is alive and kicking. You should check out some of the latest. Nothing beats the Adam's Family pinball though.

Baby Boomers are probably biggest pin collectors. As they grew up with the EMs for a nickel a play. And really drove the collecting craze, plus we have the bucks. one reason why pins are so expensive.

Great looking mods. I recently lucked into a NIB Godzilla and was hesitant about installing art blades. This video changed my mind. I think your mods are tasteful without being tacky which can be tough to get right. Really nice job. 👍

What a cool machine. Shows that for a lot of people, pinball is anything but dead. Stern is really making some cool pinball machines these days. If money was no object, there are several of theirs I would love to own. I'd love to own the limited edition "Halloween" machine that was released. I know I'm dating myself here, but the Terminator 2 machine, when it first came out, was probably the most fun I ever had on one of these. Would definitely find a nice original or one that's been refurbished. Great score on this! Of course you can get something like a pinball machine on Amazon!

@@therexershow that's what I thought I remembered, enjoy it! The premiums absolutely should come with a shaker at these prices, it's kind of silly only the LEs get that sort of thing from the factory. Especially at these NIB prices these days.
You installed the side blade artwork like a pro. I’ve seen people pull their hair out trying to line up those things while keeping out air bubbles.
I was hanging in a pinball arcade when I was 12 in 1969 listening to The Who’s Pinball Wizard on the radio. Still love playing pinball. I live in Las Vegas so I get to play at The Pinball HOF. Usually I play the games from the 1990’s, only $.50 a play.
Thats cool! We just had a client ask to engrave his QR code for him to use without having to take out his app. We had stern support test and confirm our engraving worked. I just didn't know consumer machines would come with that already. I assumed it was only if it was being used in a commercial setting.

I miss the pinball machine we had as a kid, my dad turned the main room downstairs of the house into a cool hangout room. Pool table, neon bar signs, steel bar signs, a decent tv to watch sports and of course the awesome Lethal Weapon 3 pinball machine. Very fun pinball machine.

Zombie Yeti (the artist) has done some amazing work for Stern over the years. Ghostbusters, TMNT, Iron Maiden, Deadpool and Godzilla are some of the other awesome machines he did the artwork for.

I knew as soon as you got your first pin, you had joined the dark side. :) Just an FYI in case you didn't know Pinball Life sells art blade protectors that you can put over the side blades that prevent scratching them when you lift the playfield. I got a set, love em.

Man! That SouthPark machine behind you in the beginning brought back so many memories. My friend and I would also walk down to the cinema on the weekend just to play that pinball machine. Probably spent close to $1000 on it just in quarters lol

Why isn't the shaker motor added from the factory. I've played pinball for over 50 years. Great entertainment when I was growing up. I remember inventing multiball before there was multiball. Machines in the 1960s had a pop up ball feature that you could play as many balls at a time as you would like
Stern only adds the shaker motor standard on their LE models. Obviously they want to sell you accessories on top of your already expensive pinball machine for more revenue. Very similar to cars and their factory option accessories.

I prefer the Pro models, especially after the price hikes that happened in January. Plus it always seems that many of the recent premium model games' added features always have some weird issue with them that people complain about. I don't won't that type of headache for these prices.

U know this is a fantastic machine shows the real quality and colors and creativity the new machines have. It is really perfect. Yes, obviously old games r incredible the smells, the way it is extremely difficult sometimes to really get a high score so u work hard at perfecting different things to then get a chance to go further and double ur score. Regardless, this machine is a 10/10 in my book just beautiful
im gunna change it to a 9/10 actually lol. i realized it might have just 2 much colors lights going crazy at times

We had a pinball machine at a theater I worked at back in the 90's. Can't remember what it was called but it had a robot woman on it, and she seemed to make some very suggestive moans. But I remember you could hit the ball and it had a robot head and it could land in the mouth and the head would rotate. Can't remember the name of it though. One of our employees ended up buying it from the company that supplied our arcade games.

COOLTOY I've been in a nursing home for the past three years due to a spinal injury and use a wheelchair to get around. Pinball has always been my favorite arcade game. After watching your video, I realized that I've never seen a pinball machine that could be played by someone in a wheelchair. Would be nice to see a pinball machine that was low enough to be played by someone in a wheelchair or a simply a chair for someone with a disability that would not be able to stand long enough to enjoy a game of pinball.
There was actually a Space Jam pinball machine that was custom made for Christopher Reeves that allowed a wheelchair to slide under it and allow him to play while in his chair. There are some pictures of the machine floating around the net.

I played this last night for the first time at Recbar 812 (local gaming place) I really liked the cool feature of avengers tower in it. I like Deapool more gameplay wise but this newer pin has actual video in it instead of the Deadpool pixelated look. That's just my opinion, doesn't mean much.

Congrats on Avengers infinity quest, definitely a top three pinball machine IMO. The flow on this machine is simply unmatched, combos everywhere with incredible sound and a sick light show. Mine is bolted to the floor.
The repeatable upper flipper shot has been super satisfying to nail on a constant loop to build combo values. I’m really enjoying the machine a lot!

@@cooltoy I’m kind of surprised a techie like yourself would say that, to each their own. As someone that’s been around pins since 1983, Stern makes the most low quality, overpriced, rushed machines the pinball world has ever known. I at least was getting them at a fair price, and own about 15 of them…they are all pretty crappy, fun crap….but still crap….a quick for instance….notice your SP doesn’t make fan noise, notice how loud the newer Sterns are…this is because they go as cheap as possible on the power supply, have been called out for years on such things, and know they can get away with anything and people will wait in line with every release they vomit out every 3 months so….I could go on, but no one likes a Debbie Downer….have fun…I dare say the longer your in the pinball game, you’ll start noticing how poorly made they really are.

Of the three listed, Kiss was my favorite.

You have a nice collection of pins. The have gotten so expensive theses days. I started collecting about 30 years ago before the prices really sky rocked. Stopped after my 16th addition. I haven't added anything to my bank in the last 10 years. It would be tough to replace some of my top machines like Indiana Jones. Twilight Zone, Cactus Canyon, and Theater of Magic. I would like to buy a Medieval Madness, but they are very pricey.. I do have a spot and might get a VR machine, not ideal, but will seal some of my pinball gaps.
That Indiana Jones one looks so cool and really sparks my nostalgia

I went with the Pro model. Premium is out of my price range now after the prices went up so much on all the new machines back in January.

@@kantidinda6218 that Toy Story machine looks pretty. But I just don’t see 12k in value on it. It’s almost double the price of a Godzilla Pro model for crying out loud. I really hope Stern doesn’t raise the prices again. But I can understand if they did, they are still selling machines faster than they can make them.

Looks like a nice pinball game. I didn't know that you could get these now straight from the vender. After watching you play it, it looks like it has a black hole. Which means the balls always get sucked down the middle. A perfect pinball game that doesn't have the middle or side holes is Theatre of Magic.

Wife wants Godzilla, she said it’s her favorite Stern game to date. But demand for that game is still crazy high, so I don’t foresee it coming into the collection for us anytime soon.

These Stern Pinball machines are absolutely beautiful but would you mod a Ferrari? no…would you mod a Mercedes? no….Keeping the originality of one of the best pinball machine companies in the world is a must.
The mods I did to the machine were all direct from Stern

I'm currently playing on my Muhammad Ali, which is a very satisfying pinball game. I'm not fond of all the gimmicks on the play-field but you have a nice machine.
I have a bank of 16 machines and one of my favorites is Williams Space Shuttle.
Awesome video, what part of the US do you live? I'm in FL and have been wondering how they would handle being in the garage with the type of heat we have. We'll done with the upgrades it really completes it nicely. It's hard to decide between Stern vs Arcade1up, classic or modern? Did you notice a big difference between having the shaker or does it just add that little something.
I live in the midwest, we get all seasons (sometimes in the same week lol) no issues in keeping the machine in my garage. Though I have no issues with moisture in the garage, which would be the biggest issues these machines could be exposed to. The shaker adds a little something to the game modes and things that are happening on the playfield, enough to notice for sure, but it's not distracting.

The mods have always been a want to but finding the right parts to give it that extra joy. Playability has always been at the forefront of my selection. Thank you again my friend.

I made a video a while back doing a high level overview of an Arcade1up virtual pin comparing it to a modern Stern machine. Obviously they aren’t an apples to apples comparison, but they do the job a scratching that pinball itch for new comers or those on a much tighter budget.

Not sure if the shaker is a Stern or an aftermarket, but the aftermarket shakers have blown node boards. FYI
