I left in 78 after graduation and joined the military. Then moved to Florida in 88. 20 years later I went back to Richfield Springs and most of the beautiful dairy farms which were all family owned were shut down. What a sad site it was.

Very much enjoy your channel and your viewpoints. What percentage of your crop do you bin and store to sell later in the year? I realize we all have bills to pay and the cost to dry the crops are getting very expensive but it seems like the more you guys store for sale later on, the more in your pocket especially if the grain supply is terrible worldwide. Grain price is probably lowest when the crop comes out? Appreciate you and what you do and sharing your livelihood with us.
Kevin I probably have about 25% presold because I don’t have the bin space and then I sell throughout the winter into spring to try and catch the carry in the market
You proved my point! When you said that when you got 3” of rain and the run off feed the corn plants in the run off area of the field, your corn ears were 20 kernels around! Why can we have 20 kernel around on all your corn stalks? If you capture the rain water, then redirect it to where it’s needed more water = more kernels around! For the type of verity of corn your planting how many earns per stalk does each plant suppose to produce? All this is determined on soil prep, drilling depth, spray and nitrous applications, and water availability thru our the growing season. If you use the right programs on your drown when you fly, one program is the land contour program, this will totally tell you how each farm plot you farm Is laid out! With that info you fly using the topography mapping! Each section! Then you create an over lay of the farm lands you are farming! It’s amazing to see 3d model mapping, then you know how the land your farm flows. It’s all about using the free rain water that fails on your fields, redirecting the over flow of said rain water! The gear isn’t expensive! When you shop at farm auctions! You already have some of your fields tiles! Awesome! Just set up collection tanks to store the field tile drain water! Here is a question, the verity of corn your planting, is that the best one for over all yield? The more things you can control the better your yield will be.

You have good-looking crops compared to ours in southeast Kansas we had several weeks of over 100° and no rain our corn for the most part burned up beans aren’t going to be real good didn’t get that good of stand’s we double crop down here, but we will get through it like you said it is just part of farming keep up the good work enjoy your videos I’m a new subscriber haven’t been there long The reason it was so hot here was climate change lol 😂

Don't know if you will answer this late. I'm 62 and lived on a nice dairy farm in Amsterdam NY for a few years in the early70s. My stepfather milked the cows and I got to work some too. In 76 he bought what I called a Green Acres farm in Richfield Springs NY. He lost it in 84 . I move d to Florida in 88 and went back to Richfield 21 years later and most of the beautiful family farms were closed up .What a sad site and a blow to the good memories. Where is your farm ,if I can ask. And thanks for helping feed us.

Not an expert on Roundup, though I use it for weeds in my yard. I thought the big concern was not cancer causing carcinogen's but the glyphosates that flowering pants try to dispense through their flowers. The plant sees it as a poison and presumably, then puts pollinating bees under threat. One can see the benefits though, as well with genetically engineered seeds being labelled 'Roundup ready'. Corn and other crops can yield very well under this equation.

The majority of my corn goes to feed mills for animal consumption some goes to an ethanol plant it’s not what you buy in the store and eat corn on the cob

You proved my point! When you said that when you got 3” of rain and the run off feed the corn plants in the run off area of the field, your corn ears were 20 kernels around!
Why can we have 20 kernel around on all your corn stalks? If you capture the rain water, then redirect it to where it’s needed more water = more kernels around!
For the type of verity of corn your planting how many earns per stalk does each plant suppose to produce?
All this is determined on soil prep, drilling depth, spray and nitrous applications, and water availability thru our the growing season.
If you use the right programs on your drown when you fly, one program is the land contour program, this will totally tell you how each farm plot you farm
Is laid out!
With that info you fly using the topography mapping! Each section! Then you create an over lay of the farm lands you are farming! It’s amazing to see 3d model mapping, then you know how the land your farm flows.
It’s all about using the free rain water that fails on your fields, redirecting the over flow of said rain water!
The gear isn’t expensive! When you shop at farm auctions! You already have some of your fields tiles! Awesome! Just set up collection tanks to store the field tile drain water!
Here is a question, the verity of corn your planting, is that the best one for over all yield?
The more things you can control the better your yield will be.

It was outside Lee and round up is like global warming it’s a money maker when they scream about it from the rooftops about how horrible it is but does anyone remember the 1970s when they cried the next Ice Age was coming and then in the 80s or 90s it was acid rain haven’t heard that in a while have we 🤦♂️ then there was Y2K remember fear is the number one motivator and there seems to be an awful lot of 🐑 out there

You have good-looking crops compared to ours in southeast Kansas we had several weeks of over 100° and no rain our corn for the most part burned up beans aren’t going to be real good didn’t get that good of stand’s we double crop down here, but we will get through it like you said it is just part of farming keep up the good work enjoy your videos I’m a new subscriber haven’t been there long The reason it was so hot here was climate change lol 😂

Don't know if you will answer this late. I'm 62 and lived on a nice dairy farm in Amsterdam NY for a few years in the early70s. My stepfather milked the cows and I got to work some too. In 76 he bought what I called a Green Acres farm in Richfield Springs NY. He lost it in 84 . I move d to Florida in 88 and went back to Richfield 21 years later and most of the beautiful family farms were closed up .What a sad site and a blow to the good memories. Where is your farm ,if I can ask. And thanks for helping feed us.

We will have to run our ears thru the sawmill this year in Mo. because the ears won't fit thru the concaves on our combine. Of course we had dancing girls out in the fields a few times this year.

Not an expert on Roundup, though I use it for weeds in my yard. I thought the big concern was not cancer causing carcinogen's but the glyphosates that flowering pants try to dispense through their flowers.
The plant sees it as a poison and presumably, then puts pollinating bees under threat.
One can see the benefits though, as well with genetically engineered seeds being labelled 'Roundup ready'. Corn and other crops can yield very well under this equation.

The majority of my corn goes to feed mills for animal consumption some goes to an ethanol plant it’s not what you buy in the store and eat corn on the cob
