At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

In the show, it was Selim's birth that finally brought Hurrem the Sultan title. She was Hurrem Hatun for too long.
When Hurrem was in pain, and everyone was looking at each other, where thry afraid she had been poisened again.

Yes, if she was only aimed to take revenge of her parents so it could be justified but then she shouldn't be portrayed as a true love of Suleiman when actually she was a betrayal on that name... These two different things to take revenge of her parents and to be the fair in love with the same person couldn't be placed at a same place...
But funnily the people judge her in both at the same time when it could never be justified in any moral values to take revenge and to be fair in love with the same person.
@@saimasaima1118 yea , she became all that because of them only , she was happy in her own home , but she was brought to palace everyone there was not in her favor and her life was always at risk , so to survive and to literally survive she had to become all that (even tho not agreeing that she was all that )
I feel sorry for Leo from one side but from the other he also behaved so irresposible so he condemmed himself in some way to a tragic end. When he met Hurrem again she had already three kids and the fourth was coming. She lost one family and she did everything not to loose the second and her second family were now kids and Sultan. Should she sacrifice kids for Leo? I think Hurrem didnt forget Leo very fast, when she saw her mother in a dream she said to her : I missed you so much. She also missed Leo but she thought that he is dead and didn't show it outside because she knew her enemies will use it against her.. She had to live without him. And Leo was also in some way guilty for that situation, Hurrem firmly told him : leave. I have new life, new family there. He didn't listen to her but Hurrem warned him what the consequences can be.

Oh my gosh me too! And the actor was so handsome. I absolutely love this series. When it popped up on my videos I watched it then I found it to watch on TH-cam and I seriously locked myself in my bedroom and binged watched it! I was up, no joke, for 5 days with no sleep cause they ended each episode to where I couldn’t wait to watch the next one. I have watched it fully 3 times and still find things I missed. Even the children was amazing. I didn’t even mind reading the subtitles!

Why does everyone seem upset that hurrem was having pregnancy pains
For the most of them, it's just concern since, in that time period, it could be a lot more difficult to figure out whether mother and child were fine or at risk. So any shift in the normal pattern of things can trigger concern. When it comes to Mahidevran, though, she simply doesn't want to hear anything about Hürrem's pregnancy due to jealousy (and might even, silly as this sounds, think that she's reacting to draw attention).
So, how come Mahidewran is a sultana but Hurrem is not? 🤔

It's never shown as it's treated as if she had it from arrival to the capital. Basically one of the more obvious historical inaccuracies within the show since it was created for Hurrem probably around the 1530s.
She has it from Suleiman's Princedom.

Again, Hürrem shows she's learned absolutely nothing from being banished from the palace nor listened to Hatice's advice for very long. She did not need to goad Mahidevran by congratulating her AT ALL, its understandable she hates Mahidevran, but Hurrem should be very aware of her disadvantaged position.

I had a young man in love with me. Due to circumstances it didn't work out and we didn't run into each other again until I was married with a few children. It doesn't matter how good of a person or in love with me he was. I have moved on under the assumption it wouldn't work out and I can't just go back. Leo once he learned where she was at should have moved on as well.

Mahidevran literally almost killed Hurrem. Hurrem is fully within her rights to dish it back out
And she is to her. Mahi started the whole fight and didn't play it well. It doesn't excuse what Hurrem did, but I can understand the reasons. She tried to survive in the world full of murderers.
Selim II looks like Leo.. is there a chance he got her pregnant? Among her kids, selim is the only one who’s different as to attitude and body built.
