At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The Leo plot is honestly one of the most nonsensical plots on this show. He was so smooth brained and downright suicidal thinking its possible for him to run away and marry with the now favorite of the Sultan, who's given him THREE kids at this point.

Furthermore, Leo refused to see reality, he refused to see that Hurrem no longer loved him, he refused to see that Hurrem loves Suleiman, and that Hurrem is faithful and loyal to Suleiman, and therefore Leo stayed in the palace in vain since Hurrem was never going to return to him, Hurrem would never return to Leo, and she never going to run away, because Hurrem is happy with Suleiman and her children. All Leo did was waste his time and in the end he lost his life in vain.

From my point of view, Leo was egoistic and selfish. Leo loved Alex, he found her, but.... she was not Alex any more, she was Hurrem, Sultan's favorite and mother of his three children. If Leo truly loved her, he would step aside. But the scenery writer set many lines of even horror for viewers of the serial.

It was never a hurrem problem as you can clearly see. All ways been mahidevran fault and and obsession not letting anything go and have peace, that why she deserve everything she got from emotion to punishment and consequences (and she brought it all on herself ,she was her own self demise. She did it all on herself.

Why did ottomon sultan keep so many women. Muslims are only allowed 4 wives. Isn't it haram?

      4 muslim women
      These were slaves
