LOVE LOVE LOVE Bette Midler. I've been in the entertainment field since i was 16 and when i heard her on a record and then saw her perform in movies and concerts, I was blown away by the level of her talent.
Hoda is pure goodness and light ❤ Bette is just an absolute legend. I’ll never forget seeing her in Hello Dolly. I had just been through a divorce, the death of my mother and a redundancy - all in 6 months. For my 40th birthday I flew to New York from my home in Ireland and paid $400 to see Bette. An unforgettable night at the Schubert. I’d pay it all again ❤
I'm Australian and in my mid 50s. Bette was a big influence on me when I was a kid. Of all the films and music she's been a part of, the biggest tear jerker was seeing a video of Bette on the other end of a phone talking to a terminal teen and singing " wind beneath my wings " when asked. It would have been an unseen moment had the family not put it on youtube, and it made me wonder how many times had Bette done that kind of thing in her life and no one even knows about it. As far as women being funny, Carol Burnett, Phyllis Diller, Lily Tomlin, and Bette are definitely my influencers. Strong, funny, bold, independent women. They definitely were a part of shaping me when I was young when I didn't have that kind of guidance in my life.

Just looking at her and hearing her voice makes me cry in a loving, admirable and memorable way. I sang the rose to my 37-year-old daughter as a lullaby ever night when she was a baby. I saw her in Hello Dolly on Broadway. She was just amazing! and I had never seen something like that: when she had her first entrance to the stage, there was a standing ovation for minutes and then the show continued after the applause! She was sooo good and playful in that role!
I literally just came from watching this movie and it was so fun!! I laughed a lot! I hope everyone takes the time to just put out serious lives in the back burner and raise your spirits with this awesome flick.

We saw her too, only because the hotel was offering free tickets (with a buffet) to fill the theater. All I remember is the cheesy and cheap production, and how terribly off key her singing was. People were literally squirming in their seats. Interestingly, we also saw her old piano accompanist, Barry Manilow, during that same time. He was equally bad.
Bette is a truly inspiring decent human, I adore her. Beaches is the same for me - A CRYING FEST. it is me and my best friend I lost to cancer in our 40's.

Saw her show in Las Vegas perhaps 20 years ago. We were on row 6 from stage and I snuck my small camera in, only to have it taken away by an usher who saw me take a quick pic. Show was fabulous and I was so surprised by how petite she is.
I am thankful I've been a fan of her talent for 5 generations. I bought my first Bette Milder album in junior high school. I love her completely. Besides her great voice, acting and humor, she is one of a kind. This was a great interview. I think she will be like Betty White. There are a few decades left of being blessed by her talent.
She has made me very happy so often with her singing and acting. I am so glad her daughter and husband give her great joy.
