@@GaryRetroGamerdo you know a game that you jump in this big Mummy statue thing. You jumped in it and then closes on you, and you have to escape like the walls are crushing you while you're escaping. Do you know a game of that? I seen some one played it before when I was a kid
Thanks so much for this patreon Steamkey, Gary! It's IN SOUND MIND, which according to its Steam description is "an imaginative first-person psychological horror with frenetic puzzles" ... and it also happens to have a 95% positive rating from Steam users. Wow, gotta try it!
Wow interesting list -- with A LOT of first-person and third-person shooters, which for me were the most boring genre in 6th gen and later. But I do realize that my tastes don't match with most Xbox-playing Gamefaqs users, haha! For me the top 10-20 games on this list are pretty close to correct ... but some games should be higher, like Project Gotham Racing 2 (Top 10), Beyond Good & Evil (Top 20), Gunvalkyrie (Top 30). That said, it's great to see some love from voters for Advent Rising, the Otogi games, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jade Empire, Shenmue II. Some of my personal favorites missing here are: Blinx wasn't perfect but was a fun game and quite experimental, the Colin McRae Rally games were top-of-the-line in their genre, Kung Fu Chaos, Metal Wolf Chaos & Murakumo were all ridiculous fun, and Sonic Heroes underrated to this day.
@@floppytaco244 I agree that different lists will always be weighted toward some games I like, and away from others I like. The idea behind this list is that if there are a LOT of people voting, then subjective bias should be thinned out somewhat, and there should be some better recommendations of games. But Gamefaqs users (who in large numbers voted on this Top 100, it wasn't Gary) have never had the greatest taste LOL... I do find "subjective" lists useful, in my treasure hunt for finding good games I didn't know about before. Of course, that doesn't mean that all the games on ANY subjective list are games that we would enjoy the most.
I agree. Shooters in early to mid 2000 were mostly only good during that era. Probably the genre that aged the worst. I think Halo 2 is the only one that holds up
@@TheBeggies95no way they are still awesome most of them. I think it’s one of the main reasons why the Xbox fan base is lost at the moment. We grew up playing all those awesome shooters and most were on Xbox but now there’s hardly any new ones worth playing and we are left scratching our heads.
I appreciate the og Xbox more than I did back in the day but to be honest it’s still my least favorite console of the 6th generation. Ps2 had literally everything, the GameCube had the typical Nintendo first parties and same really good 3rd party games, the gba in my opinion is the greatest handheld of all time with an amazing library and the Dreamcast although it had a short lifespan, since I was one of the 9.9.99 people to get it day one, I got to experience every new release that kept coming out for it and the console continued to blow me away with the games it was getting.
Since Dreamcast was dead by the end of 2001, I've never really considered it in the same gen as ogX. It felt like several of the games that would have been on Dreamcast ended up coming to ogX ... some of them popular, some hidden gems. PS2 is the obvious #1 of that 2000-2007 gen ... though I have always felt its game library tailed off in quality after 2003 -- some very good games in 2004-5-6, but fewer and fewer of them. GameCube and ogX are about even in my book ... and you're right the GBA was absoutely amazing. Nintendo's best-ever handheld in my opinion (is that a 'hot take'? LOL)...
@@sonicmania9993 that’s a fair enough take, shenmue 2 being exclusive to Xbox in North America, Panzer dragoon orta, crazy taxi sequels, Jet set radio future, outrun 2 are all games that definitely would’ve been on Dreamcast that ended up being on Xbox. Only reason why I separate the gap between Xbox and GameCube is not only the typical Nintendo first parties but also I was a big resident evil fan and GameCube got all the resident evil games from 0-4 to code Veronica and Xbox had none. It is what it is though because as I mentioned I do appreciate the OG Xbox nowadays and I see myself playing it more and more as time passes
ps2 had good games but the best experience still is in the xbox, the framerate in ps2 in some games sometimes is really annoying, psychonauts for example
@@haynnergomeseuzebio7595 that’s also true I would say most multi platform games ran better on the Xbox and in some cases the GameCube much better than the ps2. I’m still going with ps2 though I know quantity isn’t always the basis to choose what’s better than the other but in the case for the ps2 there’s just too much quantity of games to ignore and with quantity there’s a whole lot of crap games but there’s also a whole bunch of quality as well and the ps2 had that. It also helped that it was my first DVD player as well 😂
