I'm loving it. It's actually made me competitive, the rain suits my driving style perfectly. I actually won a race at Nords in the rain a couple hours ago. I never win road races. Now I have.

I just found your channel and I’ve just got back into racing games after a kinda long break…. Got a wheel setup and all that…I’ve been thinking about building a computer to play iracing as I’ve only played on consoles…. Just haven’t pulled the trigger…
Anyways I like your channel, I really like your attitude towards learning and knowing you won’t be amazing at first and not getting super frustrated with it… You’re really making want to actually build a computer and start my Iracing career!

I noticed the rain will let ya know if your FOV in mirror is set right.
If the spray looks far behind in mirror then needs adjusting to get it closer

Awesome video! I feel the rain to be pretty realistic overall. How do you like your DDU on your rig? I’m running a Simucube base but have been thinking of getting a DDU

I love it! It’s been great for what I need, super easy to install and to use. No complaints at all. I only got it fairly recently but I would never go without one again haha

Rain looks impressive, I tried it yesterday, just a test track as I know i'm going to kill my iRating in the rain. So I found it best avoiding the normal racing line altogether, especially in braking zones as it will have the most rubber on it and will hold water up. Off the racing line the water is more absorbed and more grip. I really want to see the series line up for Season 2 so I can do a bulk purchase of tracks. What do you think of the new Algarve Track?

It was very impressed too. Yes you are right, after testing it more, it definitely seems like there is a need to take a completely different line to get the most grip. I haven't tested Portimao yet but I remember it from the F1 races and I think it will be a very fun track to race on!

@@SarahNocchi I like that setup you got. I still got my rig from sim seats on got in 2012. Still same 3 monitors, wheel, shifter and PC have been changed a couple years ago. Somehow still using the original load cell inverted pedals I got in 2012. Waiting on them to go anytime now. Somehow they still trucking along being stomped on lol
@@racegrubb2152 thanks! I love my setup a lot. Honestly I think most peripherals are really high quality and last a long time. Since 2012, that's impressive though! Everything other than my rig is over 3 years old now, and it still feels the way it did brand new. I will be testing out some new ones soon, and I am really interested to see how much progress has been made in terms of how realistic/smooth they feel compared to what I have. But love everything about my current setup tbh.

When wet, stay away from the kerbs! It becomes really slippery. Great video!

Now your on single ultrawide 57"...Do you miss the triples ? No right window & mirror with 57" ...?
Another great video. To help with the rear spray effect, you should change your rear view mirror FOV a bit.

i have mine set to 60 FOV ,normal value always shows other cars far back when really they are right on your tail
Once we all have access to the rain, you will see what I’m talking about. It can make the stream of water behind the car look like it “starts” a few feet off of the car, instead of right behind - where it normally would be. Either way, excited to experience the rain!

I used to be so intimidated and frustrated racing in wet weather (different game, not iRacing) and now, I'm disappointed if the forecast calls for rain but doesn't actually rain. 😂 I sort of enjoy slip, slidin' around.

You are running a triple screen setup with a 3060TI? 1440p? I have the same card but I am hesitating to jump from ultra wide with 1440p to triples with this GPU.
I have the rtx3080 and I run triple 27" Samsung G5s at 1440p. My frame rate is around 120-140 in iracing on ultra settings. I am more than confident your 3060ti would run triple 1440 but you might not be able to run everything on ultra settings
rain is going to be great for endurance racing ...but for the sprint races i see nothing but pure carnage and chaos lol
I think you should consider faster PC if you truly want to run 3 monitor setup. 3060 Ti isn't exactly fast for that purpose.
unlock the FPS to 120, your card is very strong for this (needs only the 1/3 of GPU power)
I would like to see them pull the spray cloud in the virtual mirror closer to the car's rear. It breaks the immersion every time I look up at it.
I actually just need to adjust my mirror FOV! haha
WHICH ONE is the most realistic visual looking driving game on PC? iRacing, Assetto?
I think that the main problem with rain is not rain itself, but drivers behavior. IN real life, you are cautious cause you know that if you do stupid things you will end hurted on a nasty accident, but as real fisical risk doesnt exist in the simracing, people tends to act silly, (aka trying a divebomb at rain in turn 1 at a 24h event) I really hope that people behave when this get implemented at the huge 24h and 12h events. Nice vid as always!
Very true! A lot of people are going to drive like they usually do, and end up putting the others in impossible situations. That's why I am wondering if anything will change regarding the SR, or if they will allow more Xs on races with rain.. It will be interesting to see how things go.

Are you aware of the reasoning about dry line vs wet line while racing in rain? It's not about standing water but rubber deposits on tarmac.

Two channels I wanted you to know about, with one being a Canadian pro race car driver (Daniel Morad) having done a tour of a company in Montreal QC specializing in all this sim racing and full motion. It's an amazing looking place selling top notch products. I sure would love to go visit the place, even though I don't have the space for a full motion setup, plus my neighbour below me would get a hate on real quick from all the noise!! Having plenty of family in the area, I'd have free room and board at least.😊
He also does racing setups and what not, I'm sure you'd be interested in. He shows his home setup in other video's, which would probably bring new ideas to mind for you, as you move forward with this amazing hobby.

The other gentleman out of Michigan does multiple sim games, with the majority about ATS and MSFS. This link is about his incredible custom built man cave!! I've never seen such skill and talent before. He also has an eBay store selling custom made 3D printed parts. I recently bought his custom made phone mount for my DD+, again, the quality of that piece is like no other I've bought before!! One very talented man, nothing he does is hap hazard!

Oops, lets make it 3 channels. Another gentleman doing sim racing content, showing how to install a mini amp and bass shakers for more immersion. I just watch yesterdays video of him trying iRacing in the rain for the first time. He had the exact same problem you had the first time.

Looks like youre being followed by an invisible car. The mirror doesnt look right.
If you have the FOV to wide on the virtual mirror, you get that anomaly.

Heavy rain..lots of Puddles and you still srive on race line which is full of rubber and standing water. You can clearly see where NOT to drive and see the rain line. Dont drive in wet conditions if you are not willing to adapt
I was testing it to see how realistic it is.. I clearly say in the video that there is a need to avoid the racing line and find areas of the track with more grip

@@SarahNocchiYou have great taste in automobiles! The nicest sports car I've ever owned, was a 1984 Camero Z-28 bought new off the showroom floor in the fall of 1983, at the ripe old age of 22! It was light silver, with red/orange recaro seats and T-tops. It was an awesome car to drive considering the tech back then. Also had Eagle GT tires. I was even able to keep up with my buddies 1982 Corvette. Great times at such a young age, plus I have a 24"x30" framed photo of it on my wall!!

@@SarahNocchi Agreed, you don't need to have played it for 10 years to be able to research its history, which is something you do well on your channel, especially with track history etc. I think its agreed among all content creators that this is probably the biggest update for iRacing in a long time.
The problem for creators is having to deal with people like you.
