So glad he's making a comeback after covid, he seems like a genuinely great guy.
Agree, I love both of the Ko's.
all 3 of them are incredible human!
Dude I love the Ko brothers. Big Ko seems like a class act. Always rooting for him.
Wow $30,000 for a cue! Awesome. You asked all the right questions about the cues.
The “Holy Cross” cue, a regular price (if regular can ever be the right word for such a custom. Probably average is better) of 15-18k dollars. Ko’s cue is decorated with golden details which of course dramatically raises the price. If I am not mistaken conical tapered ahafts, 12.5 x-pro is little lower deflection than their standard (ZEN) maple shaft. To my knowledge of course. Gorgeous gem for the Taiwanese typhoon.
Congrats champ
Just to add on a little bit, the Holy Cross (十字飞翼)with 40 points has a standard price of 80,000 RMB in China, which is roughly around 11k usd. Currently, Zen has 6 different types of shafts, 2 of which is dedicated to american pool, the XPro (with a more pro taper) at 12.5mm and the 95 (akin to old school Southwest shafts) at 13mm. There are 3 more dedicated to chinese 8 ball, the 83, CQ and AR, at 12mm, 11.5 and 11mm respectively. The newest shaft that came out is the XQ, a hybrid shaft that can work on both american and chinese pool, with the slimmest pro taper yet so far from Zen, and a tip diameter of 12mm. Zen cues also adapt a practice commonly done in mainland china, which is adding a taper to the ferrule as well. Most of their shafts (excluding the american pool shafts) has a taper from the beginning of the ferrule to the tip, where the 83 has the most severe taper, 12.6mm at the beginning of the ferrule to 12mm at the tip.
He said $30,000; around double the price
Ko Pin Yi is my favourite Ko brother. Great player! Congrats to you, Champ! Love the design of the Zen cues by the way. 😎
Ko Pin Yi is One of my Idol besides Efren Reyes..Thank you very much Karl Boyes for this kind of interview..love from🇵🇭
Our pleasure!
Great interview mate, props to Ko Pin Yi giving it a go despite his lack English👍
I've always loved the what's in the case vids. My man Karl has taken them to the next level. More of these please
Thanks 😊
Is it too late for The GOAT Efren? 😂😅
Great to see someone doing a "What's in the bag" segment. And what a nice guy Pin Yi is.
I'm a sucker for these videos. I know what is in a bag for the most part, yet I always watch them, lol. Thanks Ko!
Good hahaha
@@KarlBoyesPoolLife It's pretty cool to hear from you Karl. Admired your game for years brother (except when you were beating us in the Mosconi, lol) Hope all is well.
thanks dude ur getting good at these and bringing back nostalgia of the older videos of the same likeness... keep it up
Thanks
finally, we need more videos like this...
it also help some amateurs to compare with same type style of play, especially cues and tip.
Keep it up karl..
They are coming 💪🏻
Ko bros are doing the right thing to have an academy of their own at this age. No only competing but sharing the knowledge as well. I am great supporter of KO bros. Go go KO!!!
Karl is the absolute man for doing these! Keep it up! Lovin the content
Thanks buddy
I'd have to hire security if I was carrying around a $30,000 cue! Lol. Absolutely gorgeous cue and the gold inlays are immaculate. I would be scared traveling with that cue! Thanks for the videos Karl!
No worries thanks for watching
Very nice playing cue! Cool looking cross! That's A very great tool for one of the Greats!
That was awesome, Karl! Thanks mate👍😎.
He is one of my favorite players besides Albin Ouschan! Love this video 👌🏻
Ko Pin Yi seems like a very nice person, I'm not even mad that he beat my fellow filipinos in the asian 9 ball tournament.
Great video karl keep them coming when ever you can
Great video. Awesome that he's able to communicate in English a bit... His brother Ko Pin Chung knows zero English so i thought we would never have some kind of interview from them...
He puts his own tips on his 30k cue? Wow. A true professional.
Wow I had no idea he was so polite and humble. Watching his matches always thought he’d have a totally different personality.
PinYi is a class act and an amazing shooter. Great video. And goodness gracious what a price tag on that cue. Used it well to win it all though! Great vid. Cheers
No worries thanks for watching and commenting
i love ko pin yi. i have never played pool in my life but i love pool. the 2015 world cup of pool final match ko and chung won it was my 1st pool match watched on youtube. this is wholesome. thank you mr.karl...
No worries thanks for watching.
truly love this series!!
Love your "What's in the Bag" videos! Please keep em coming! I love that Ko uses a $30k cue for an everyday player & his bag looks like canvas, lol. How will anyone ever top this? One thing you don't ask is the brand / type / material of bags they use, (although I did hear you once ask someone if their bag was a 4x8). Karl, do you still enter the big events, or strictly commentating & vids? Long time subber / subscriber hear
This got a like the moment I saw the thumbnail! More content with the Ko brothers please Karl!
I 2nd this comment karl my man 💛
Excellent commentating, you asked all the right questions... thank you
Thanks
Please do more of these. These are so much fun to watch
I will promise
Ko seems like a genuinely humble dude. Congratulations on your win! Salute from PH 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

Nice one Karl.. Been curious about his arsenal..
Love these videos! Thanks Karl 👍
No problem more to come
Great Interview Karl.Second cue i see in my life that cost 30k..after the one we saw at German Open.
That Zen Cue is BEAUTIFUL ..I once had a Gena cue that looked similar ..they are great but boy they are not cheap
Awesome video Karl, more contents like these please! :)
Will do thanks
Jeeeeezz 30k! welp if there were ridiculously expensive cues out there. World class players like Ko and his brothers are certainly the appropriate players to use them. Cool video.
i love all the three brothers ! good ambassadors for our games
What an immaculate-looking cue. A true work of art.
Agree
For 30k cues is nothing compare to what he already achieved. Lovely playing cue. Thanks for upload this kind of video Karl. Cheers
Thank you
Hey my man lovely video yet again. I love the Ko brother they are so down to earth and are amazing. Ko bag is stunning. He playing cue is so beautiful. Congrats to Ko on winning the Asian 9 ball this passed week. Saw the final yesterday. Bring on thr next event ( Us open pool I think) ? #MuchLove #HeyPoolFans #PoolLife
Thanks champ
@@KarlBoyesPoolLife welcome my man 💪🏻
My goodness, what a beautiful cue! The details on it look so nice. Must feel so good "wielding" such a beautiful "weapon". Ko seems like a really nice guy, humble, quiet and deadly on the pool table.
Cheers for this "what's in the case" series Gov, really nice to get a glimpse of what the big boys carry with them to tournaments.
Also you sold me on the JFlowers JF10 - 10F...its gonna be my next purchase, really nice cue especially for the price its available at, and now the white sighting ferrule bit is available too, for an extra 15 usd...
Keep up the great work and I cant wait to hear your commentary for the Mosconi Cup 2022, it starts tomorrow...GO TEAM EUROPE! (even though i'm excited to see Earl back in action, the US has a very strong team this year).
Can't agree more. Ko's playinig cue is more like an art collection. All the golden decoration is actual gold and all the white is real ivory. It's like holding an average sedan every time when playing, so crazy omg
His playing cue is gorgeous
Great video once again, Karl. Would also be nice if you would’ve interviewed a few Filipinos. Cheers!
Thanks for the message
Karl, I've commented a lot on your videos. I even asked for W.I.T.B. with Shane. But this has to be the best one to date
Such a beautiful cue!!
I love this video. He is one of my favorite players. Good guy.
Thank you
Love seeing these videos. Catch up with Josh roberts one day and make a video when you are back in the states
Sounds like a plan
Seems like a real nice fella- super talented too!
Last time I see him was when vegas was shutting down during the early days of Covid, glad that Ko Brother slowly making a comeback.
He can communicate in english now that's nice, his bros can barely hold a conversation in english without using chinese words
Excellent pool video! Good stuff!
Thank you
Chill dude. 😎 helluva cue
He's a nice guy i think so. Goodluck in career champ.
Very good equipment to practice Pool 🎱
Cool guy, one of the best❤
Nice video Carl, big KO is great to watch.
Man that cue is stunning but 30k, needs to take it to the toilets with him
Hahaha true
Finally got the answer.. thx karl for this footage.. hopefully the next is wu jiaqing..
Congratulations to Ko Pin Yi for winning the APF Asian 9-Ball Open 2022!!
Such a good dude and great ambassador for cue sports. Not a bad player either
I’m impressed his English has came a long way. Even more impressed with the bag though lol 😂
Amazing player and his English is actually pretty good he can understand and speak well
I've been playing with viking for awhile but use a different brand break cue. Cool to see top players using different brands. Most guys use all 1 sponsor.
Brilliant looking cue. 😍👍🔥
Thank you! Cheers!
Karl thanks for doing this, could you do a filipino player next time?
very nice cue and I'm also a non-glove player.
Curious to see more details on the tip tool he showed. I haven't seen that one before.
The Ko brothers have their own jump cues and cue tips. They put on their own cue tips, shape them and tested them
You are my Idol 👍💪👍💪👍
CONGRATZ KO IN RECENT ASIAN TOURNEY,!!! from ph!!!
I just started watching the “what’s in the bag” shorts, and it’s fascinating to see their gear! I think it would be hilarious if he went into a random pool hall and did a what’s in the bag with folks at my level “bangers” lol. I bet there’d be some funny stuff in the novice’s cue cases
very humble guy one the best today
I ❤️ the Ko brothers and they even got their own brand jump cue...thats fukn awesome!! 😎💪
@@bigstu4700 hell ya asians are known for being smart even tho their English may not be the best but he's getting better 😉
That jump cue is awesome
I own one, and it plays better than cuetec propel or predator air ii in my opinion
Incredible. $30000 cue. Better never let that leave his sight
Harbourfront, Singapore? Niceeee
One of my fav players
Notice how his playing cue has a pretty standard black with white spec irish linen wrap! Nothing fancy, lol.
Nice video Karl
Thanks
I joked about someday needing to carry a sharpie in my bag. I didn't see one in Ko's bag. He's for sure sharpie level. You need to send him a sharpie so he has one. ;)
i'm Really appreciate to your worth explanation for amateur player.
And i'm also interested in the bags of another brothers😘
Ok will try my
Best hahaha
Man I just can't justify playing with such an expensive cue but if it works for him 🤷♂️ why not. Congrats on the victory
he is such a great guy…spent time with him in Atlanta
Agree sound bloke
Gotta say I love the look of zen custom cues the most 😮💨
You no what I do too hahaha
We all have some expensive taste. Lol.
Gorgeous cue.
What brand extension is he using? (the first one he pulled out)
Karl,
Can you please do "What's in the case" with Joshua Filler? please and Thanks...Good job.
That’s coming
great guy , great player Ko Pin Yi

秉逸回英文算是不緊張了,有些回得也不錯👍
Bravo ... Ko pin yi
Felt like interrogation))

It was 😜
bro u makes him nervous 😂😂😂
Nice video
Thanks
legendary
Him and his two other brothers are monsters in pool
Thanks Karl...
Nice work. Oh, and this guy 👇🏼 Lmao.
KPY is a top 5 player imho. I'll watch his matches vs Shaw, Filler, Gorst, Biado, Orcollo, Feijen. Good looking cue. I thought Shaw's cue was expensive.
Karl, could you do Carlo Biado next? Thanks mate!
Yes 💯
He's like a typical Taiwanese, very nice guy
