The battery adhesive that you just removed is actually reusable because they are not being congested when you pulled the battery out of the phone, you can reuse it for several times between teardowns
I looked for a teardown video after mistakenly inserting the sim ejector tool into the adjacent microphone hole, worrying I damaged the mic on day 1. Glad he clearly showed that Samsung were considerate enough to prevent this with some clever engineering.

This phone looks good in terms of repeatability ... I had the ultra 22, decided to go down a bit with a smaller phone and got this for me and my wife, and i am pretty happy (except the camera its just alright, but it is what it is)
Very clean teardown. Manufacturers should just release these kinds of videos along with image/text repair guides. Even if I'm not a phone repairman and just an end consumer, it's quite satisfying and reassuring to see what's inside a device that I'm gonna use for 3+ years. Samsung is not even sharing a detailed spec sheet anywhere on its website. Like wtf I can't even see what kind of storage/RAM they are using and I need to trust a 3rd party website for that info which might not even be correct for the phones Samsung sells in my region. These small details are the only differentiator between mid-range and flagship phones these days and it's just sad that companies can't even bother to point out these subtle differences to their customers who are willing to pay twice for a product that's almost the same on paper.
At 9:08 when you are demonstrating the waterproofing of the microphone channels, what about the other pin-sized hole/channel next to the speaker on the bottom? What even is the purpose of that hole, and does it share the same waterproofing as the bottom microphone hole or does it have waterproofing located somewhere else? Thanks.

I got the S23 and the fact that they use the vapor chamber this year instead of the graphite cooling on the S22 wich was terrible, the result is magnificent! I don't have any heating isseus or battery drain problems i had the S22 but i sold it i'm from europe so it had the shitty exynos 2200 chipset, now it's the snapdragon chipset global finally!

Say I was trying to deep clean my phone,what would happen if you stuck a pair of tweezers into the speaker grill to get the grime out, but accidentally push too hard into the speaker hole? Similarly, what would happen if I stuck the corner of a sheet of paper into the top earpiece speaker to try to get the dust out? Would both of these be harmful to the waterproofing gaskets? If yes, what would you recommend to get those two places cleaned properly, as they're very hard to do so?

Best build quality ever Samsung offered. But the Side Button still has the same issue of dropout A3 2017 or the A-series line of 2017 was better than flagships about build quality.
Interesting on the adhesive being less tacky than the older Samsungs. I wonder what that means in the long term as far as water resistance. There's clearly a difference between the adhesives in an iPhone vs this.

@@TheJohnRowley everyone else who dissasembled it just pulled the screen out without alcohol so i think its not a big deal, i would at least the screen up before doing this. Jerry also showed that the screen is extremly durable against heat and the pixels wont die from fire lol
@@daidalos1508 I think we might have some misunderstanding - I was alluding to the battery pull tab not being as good as it could have been. Having watched RT's other videos they seem much more effective in other phones he's worked on. Still, as he said - at least there was one at all on this model!

I never understood why all the videos I've watched that they took off the nfc antenna from the bottom speaker housing. Unless you are changing the bottom speaker only keep it connected. Thank you for this video of you keeping it connected finally! And the balls are behind that round black sticker where you thought it was gauze. Also when reassembly does anyone torque the screws or just go till they are tight?
I think that speaker has foam balls in it but it's closed with extra protection after introducing self-repair. To prevent users from accidentally poking?
It does have little white balls (not sure if they're actually foam balls, as I've crushed them into powder before on other phones). I think the valve controls air coming into the speaker better.
Watching after a long time someone taking care of an expansive tech gadget with so much care which gives me peace of mind, not like the brute bald guy who gives me heartache everytime he bangs the new expansive phone 🤌🏻✨

i made that sputid mistake and pushed the sim slot extract pin to microphone hole. i wonder if i damaged the water resistant mesh on the hole. it seems on this video mesh is not directly positioned perpendicular to the hole but rather horizontal after hole makes 90 degree turn to the actual mic. if its what i think it is water mesh on my phone should be still intact. i hope.

Unlikely. But see my community post on the subject, where I have a microscope image of the hole. There's a plastic wall around the hole, which may get damaged and block the hole. But if you mic is working fine, then there's no problem 👍

The bottom speaker mesh seems to be damaged on my s23. I watched this to get a sense of how bad that is. Yes I put a pokey thing in there to get lint out (I know I shouldn't have done that, lesson learned). My tool didn't go in far, so if the membrane is more than a couple millimetres past the mesh then I think I'm safe. From what you saw of the teardown, how bad do you think it is?

@@anviksiki108 No. There is a plastic wall to that mic channel, so you probably just dug into the sides a little bit. Should have no affect.

It's not that uncommon with Samsung's. Usually they're all the same size except a couple of odd ones.

I just screw them in until finger tight.

I think they did a nice job on the changes. Lord knows engineering smartphones is not easy work and I thank these people for doing an amazing job. Finally sticking it to the apple snobs 😬😁🤣
The bottom speaker mesh seems to be damaged on my s23. I watched this to get a sense of how bad that is. Yes I put a pokey thing in there to get lint out (I know I shouldn't have done that, lesson learned).
My tool didn't go in far, so if the membrane is more than a couple millimetres past the mesh then I think I'm safe.
From what you saw of the teardown, how bad do you think it is?
