    Very clean teardown. Manufacturers should just release these kinds of videos along with image/text repair guides.
    Even if I'm not a phone repairman and just an end consumer, it's quite satisfying and reassuring to see what's inside a device that I'm gonna use for 3+ years. Samsung is not even sharing a detailed spec sheet anywhere on its website. Like wtf I can't even see what kind of storage/RAM they are using and I need to trust a 3rd party website for that info which might not even be correct for the phones Samsung sells in my region.
    These small details are the only differentiator between mid-range and flagship phones these days and it's just sad that companies can't even bother to point out these subtle differences to their customers who are willing to pay twice for a product that's almost the same on paper.

    Great video, as always. Love the precision and care you have towards devices. I have a question related to 9:08. Say I was trying to deep clean my phone,what would happen if you stuck a pair of tweezers into the speaker grill to get the grime out, but accidentally push too hard into the speaker hole? Similarly, what would happen if I stuck the corner of a sheet of paper into the top earpiece speaker to try to get the dust out? Would both of these be harmful to the waterproofing gaskets? If yes, what would you recommend to get those two places cleaned properly, as they're very hard to do so?

    I never understood why all the videos I've watched that they took off the nfc antenna from the bottom speaker housing. Unless you are changing the bottom speaker only keep it connected. Thank you for this video of you keeping it connected finally! And the balls are behind that round black sticker where you thought it was gauze. Also when reassembly does anyone torque the screws or just go till they are tight?

    I think that speaker has foam balls in it but it's closed with extra protection after introducing self-repair. To prevent users from accidentally poking?

    • @RestoreTechnique
      @RestoreTechnique  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does have little white balls (not sure if they're actually foam balls, as I've crushed them into powder before on other phones).
      I think the valve controls air coming into the speaker better.

    i made that sputid mistake and pushed the sim slot extract pin to microphone hole. i wonder if i damaged the water resistant mesh on the hole. it seems on this video mesh is not directly positioned perpendicular to the hole but rather horizontal after hole makes 90 degree turn to the actual mic. if its what i think it is water mesh on my phone should be still intact. i hope.

      Unlikely. But see my community post on the subject, where I have a microscope image of the hole. There's a plastic wall around the hole, which may get damaged and block the hole. But if you mic is working fine, then there's no problem 👍

    The bottom speaker mesh seems to be damaged on my s23. I watched this to get a sense of how bad that is. Yes I put a pokey thing in there to get lint out (I know I shouldn't have done that, lesson learned).
    My tool didn't go in far, so if the membrane is more than a couple millimetres past the mesh then I think I'm safe.
    From what you saw of the teardown, how bad do you think it is?
