@@brandongrapevine dont get me wrong. I absoslutely love the OM. But I just picked up a 2005 passat TDI for $1000. Couldnt pass it up. We'll see how the OM treats range. If I'm not getting at least 30mpg, I may switch to the BHW. 29gal LR tank + 18gal stock tank +5gals of jerry cans would net me a 2000mi range and nothing is cooler than that.
@@wtice4632 shelved in favor of the VW BHW TDI. The OM in the 3rd gen 4Runner just didnt make sense (fitment). I love the VW TDI in the 4runner. Game changer. Nothing epic but 200hp and 400lbft of torque is a monster compared to the gasser 5VZ. Watching copart for a good Landcruiser for the OM to call home.
Brother what turbo are you running and was it hard to do the hella actuator tuned? I am running stock turbo but am looking at going bigger to shoot for 200ish hp
@@brandongrapevine oh ok ic so what I’m doing is I’m taking the 4.6l v8 outta my 2005 ford explorer and swapping it with the 2.0l vw tdi 2013 engine and putting the bigger injectors stage 2 comp bigger turbo. I’m doing it cause my v8 engine is shot it lacks power leaks oil burns gas and the body is still in mint condition I got about 6inch lift with 31s under it and I think it’s gonna be great!!
Which 2.0? The CJAA out of a 2010-2013 Jetta is a great engine but far more complicated to swap. For simple older vehicles like this Toyota, the ALH or AHU is a great engine to keep it basic and make easily double the HP and 2-3x the torque of the factory engine reliably, and economically
@@DirtRoadTherapy the cjaa engine I don’t have to do to much to it I don’t even have to make a wiring harness it’s pretty much plug and play for the wiring I have all the plugins throttle and glow plugs are just plug in
Clean. I'm waiting for the injection pump to come back before I throw the OM606 into the 4runner.
Nice! I had considered that engine but room looked a little better with the TDI.

@@thediddlefiddler5569 sweet. What mpg with the tdi?
Beautiful work ❤
Got any videos detailing the build and how much it cost you and how difficult it was?
More power than a 4BT, weighs less the same as a 3 liter aluminum v6
Where did you get the adapter for transmission?
tdconversions sells em for a prettt reasonable price for pretty much any transmission worth swapping onto. mounts will prob need be custom tho
Holly crap what turbo is that

Air filter please
What tranny and adapter plate you running?
How's the cabin vibrations?
Is that the 1.9l tdi was just curious why nobody goes with the 2.0l tdi
Yea it's the 1.9. Aftermarket support is a lot better with this engine vs the 2.0.
