Keeping sheets of cardboard around is a beautiful thing. Not only great for laying on but also for soaking up oil. Always place some cardboard underneath your vehicle and work areas 😊

Rad bike man. Oil changes can be so messy sometimes. When I did the snow blower this year its was a nightmare. Fun video as always.

Snowblowers are sooo awkward! LOL I had to change the carb on my this year....It runs great now...but not during the season of course haha.. Thanks!

Oil changes really shouldn't be messy as long as you know what you're doing with the specific vehicle. There are a couple vehicles where you really got to reach down inside of a small area to get to the oil filter but other than that you should be able to do the most of the relatively clean. I have literally shown people that I've can change oil after coming home and wearing a white collared shirt when I used to work at the office lol I have one bets on showing people I could do it and not get dirty.😊😂
Just got to know the vehicle and have a couple things around like gloves, rags and cardboard for the ground. Old socks are a miracle workers. Old towels should never be thrown away. Old cotton t-shirts also great. Keep all of your old things like this around because they're better than any rag you can buy especially to consider they are free.

Just wondering if you had to call the Environmental Department. How much oil is on your driveway? Did it all run into the sewers come spring? That must be why you didn't change it in the garage.

Ms. karen arsenault, No, not for the ~1/4 cup of oil over flow. Of that amount most was recovered. Unsure, probably trace amounts. No, there are no sewers on my property or in the area. No, I changed my oil outside so I could film. Thanks for the watch!

If you use automotive grade oil- which he did- change it VERY often (500 miles) as it does not have the more stable moleculer structure of a motorcycle grade oil, or a pure synthetic. The gears in a motorcycle (which are lubricated in common with the motor oil) tend to shear the molecules much more than in an auto engine where gearboxes most often have a separate lubricant. It doesn't cost that much more to use a premium lubricant and will last
much longer- so effectively no cost difference.

Agree and true. Kinda a longer story, but I ended up changing the oil Twice on this one to get the proper grade.

Pro Honda GN 4 10w-40 is what Honda recommends.

  • @electrotronic3687

It says 10w-40 but I see you put 10w-30. Is there a reason? Doing a oil change soon and need help, thanks

100% use what the manual calls for… long story on my bike but I ended up changing the oil twice to get the right stuff in there.

I was thinking that I did not have to wait 3 weeks to change the oil, as it was in stock. ;)

Fram is the absolute worst- wix & purolator are very good, Bosch is good too. Or the more expensive honda one. $12 won't break the bank

@@Smittyschannel yeah I could trust someone named Smitty on the internet or I could trust an actual before and after, analyzed by a professional organization who's entire purpose is to analyze contamination in oil down to a few PPM. I watched a guy pour almost 30 grams of 30 micron aluminum powder through a fram filter and it did fine. You sound as dumb as those Chevy vs Ford dipshits
