First of all, love your videos. I got mine from my carrier 6 days ago. I got the 512Gb. My daughter said I upgraded and downgraded at the same time. Very much so upgrading from my current iPhone 12 128Gb and only downgrading to a smaller screen. But, I am happy as it’s more pocketable & easier & lighter to hold & to reply messages. I can reach the whole phone with my thumb. Yes, a hit on the battery life, I notice it. But, I carry a small charger & portable battery pack, so no issues there. Overall I am happy with my iPhone 13 Mini. Love from Malaysia.

Recently upgraded from the SE 2020 and it is quite simply the best phone I have ever owned. Great camera, incredible form factor, nice screen and works so well with the accessories such as MagSafe Wallet (I credit you for this purchase!) and MagSafe battery pack. I don't think I will get a bigger phone than this in the future- it fits every situation perfectly.

using since march, not going upgrade, loves the most about compact phone and cameras since iphone 13 series share same sensors between pro series (but without the macro lens). and the most important are this phone can slip into my pen case for tactical cheating (don't try this kids)

      Touch ID > Face ID
-Touch ID more convenient in darkness
-Touch ID more convenient for Apple Pay
-Touch ID is like 95% register all day
-Touch ID more convenient in warm climates
-Gesture can get in the way using apps
-Swipe up can close my texting app
      -Prefer Control Center from bottom
-Can see battery % clearer without notch
I've been offered from AT&T to get an iPhone 12 mini for $1 per month for the next 36 months if I sign up for an unlimited plan. No thank you. Sold my 12 mini and zero regrets.
I really hated when I would type and it would accidentally close because the space bar is right above the gesture line. Certain games require a swipe up gesture. And my Pixel 3 took better photos than the 12 mini.
I guess SE 3 will be the last to have Touch ID, home button, and sim tray to avoid that e-sim nonsense when you want to switch phones a lot. Apple will not bring back a fingerprint security in the foreseeable future. Truly a Special Edition while the X fooled the world that Face ID, gesture swipes, and a notch was good for us.
The SE 4 will give us more overrated bezel-less crap. More inconvenience with Face ID that you end up inputting your passcode more than half of the time. More inconvenience using a swipe up gesture which can accidentally close apps. A notch that will get in the way viewing content or a simple battery %.
Love my iPhone SE 2022. The last great iPhone before more brainless sheeple think Face ID, touch gestures, a hideous notch, and e-sim only are better for us when they aren't and never will be.
      Two best iPhones ever made

      iPhone SE (2022)
I use them both daily as the SE1 is used as an iPod for more convenient wired headphones listening. No need to charge wireless earbuds. Battery life lasts much longer using wired.
I still prefer my Flip 3, Razr 5G, and Pixel 3 over them because I'm an Android guy but SE 1 & 3 are only two iPhones I will ever need until Apple brings back Touch ID or anything with fingerprint security.

Just purchased the 13 mini going from the 11. This phone is great. The 11 was just too big to navigate with one hand and was a bit frustrating. The size of this phone was the biggest selling point for me. It reminds me of the older phones like the 4 and 5 when compact phones were popular and also convenient.

I have had my iPhone mini for about two months now and I upgraded from an iPhone 11.
Best decision I made at the time when I was considering the 13 series vs 14. Don’t hesitate there is so much more value and the performance is all there.
I would recommend this phone if you are the type of person who doesn’t want to miss out any of the standard flagship features in a phone out now today but appreciates the convenience in form factor, and one handed usability.
Adjusting to a smaller screen size didn’t outweigh the fact that the oled panel looks so much more rich in color in terms of consuming content and recording video from this phone it feels very natural.
The iPhone 5s was my favorite iPhone of all time and this phone just feels like a spirited successor.
Happy new year to anyone this helps!

I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini.
Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible.
It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.

I got mine a month ago, shortly before spending 3 weeks abroad. It's been a great travel companion. The cameras are amazing, the battery life is good (I only felt the need to charge up before the end of the day 2 or 3 times in 3 weeks of sightseeing!), and the one-handed usability was priceless while navigating around unfamiliar places with my luggage or hiking in spots when I needed my other hand for support. Without a doubt, my favorite smartphone to date. I'm very sad Apple has chosen not to continue the model.

I got mine 2 days ago. Decided to give it a try, especially, that I can return it and change it for 14. The reason was portability. I have missed so many great moments while running and not having my phone with me (12) to snap a picture. Now, after 2 days usage, I am starting to fall for that phone. Each time I pick up the 12 (company phone) the screen seems to be HUGE, and each time I use the 12 with one hand it's like an elaborated gymnastics. Still have 10 days to change my mind, yet probably will stay with the mini. Oh, there is one more reason. I stream apple music that cannot be used on my Garmin, hence I will be able to do it with the Mini in my pocket:)

Regarding the size of the 13 Mini being too small for some things, there’s a pretty good compromise. Get an iPad Mini 6 alongside your iPhone mini for the best of both worlds. A tiny, awesome one handed phone and a large (but still convenient) screen that dwarfs even max iPhones and has split view app functionality. Bonus points of you get a cellular iPad mini.

I love my iPhone 13 mini! I bought this in Oct 2022, and I wanted to comment about the heating-up issues, the only time my phone is a little hot is when I am charging it. But, I also discovered that when the phone gets too hot while charging, the system will detect it and notify that it will stop charging until it cools down. So, it is fantastic; I love this phone to bits!

But it can deliver at any condition. I would have go to a iphone 14 pro because it matches the pureview but i realized that price depreciation don't worth all that money for a slightly better picture and a zoom. Better buy a good compact camera instead and keep it running a decade at least

I switched from the 2016 se to the 13 mini a few days ago, and it’s been amazing. Literally everything is better, and honestly, one of the things I noticed most was the haptics, followed by Face ID, which is so insanely fast it genuinely feels like I don’t have a password.
My one complaint is a better of a weird one- it actually feels to big. Don’t get me wrong, it’s way better than a full sized iPhone, but I expected it to be smaller. Even though it’s only a few millimetres bigger than the 2016 se, the fact that the screen covers the whole phone makes it feel way bigger, to the point where I sometimes struggle with one handed use. It might also be that I’m just not used to the bigger screen yet, so I’ll maybe update this comment in a week or two to talk about any changes in my experience.

    • @coxxycabee
      @coxxycabee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Your description nails my experience too.
I have been using my 13 Mini for almost a year now. It's a good phone, but OGSE is the best size in my opinion too. As you touched on, I think bezeless design is a stupid concept. Bezels offer reasonable space for people to put their fingers. These spaces could be utilised with front facing speakers which are great too (This was done half a decade ago) but they're preferencing visual aesthetics which is a real shame.
I switched back to my OGSE for about a month and a half in 2022 and It performed pretty well. It holds up. The only reasons I switched back to the 13 Mini was the lack of fast charging and the 13 Mini camera is great, (specifically night mode).
I am honestly tempted to go back to my OGSE very often. I love that phone.
I am a tech nerd to some extent, but at the same time I am primitive too and hesitant to adopt some technology trends.
I do not use mag safe on my iphone. I do not have a wireless charger in my residence.
One thing that I had not realised that I had become very reliant on is fast charging.
When I swiched back to my old OGSE, charging speed became very very very apparent to me.
I do love the OGSE. It is the best phone I have ever owned but fast charging has become very important to me and that alone and warranted my continued use of my 13 Mini. Camera quality was a factor too but it was minimal.

Just upgraded from the XS to a mint condition Product Red 13
    Mini.
I knew I was swapping my XS this year, as it's about to lose the latest iOS, but its battery health (or lack of it) hastened the upgrade.
Using a bumper and MagSafe grip - not a fan of full cases - and have already got myself quite a few MagSafe accessories. These include a portable charging stand that I can use on the go, and to trigger Standby Mode when I'm home.
This 'Mini' iPhone has the same footprint as my iPhone 7 - how times have changed.
    Thanks for the content.

As for the iPhone 13mini it heats up if your charger is not original Apple. I experienced that issue now. When I plugged my old original charger it seized heating up. No other iPhone did this. My girlfriend’s iPhone 12 Pro works fine on the non original charger.

Excellent review revisiting the iPhone 13 mini! I've got two questions:
    1. How is the typing experience on the iPhone 13 mini, with its more compact onscreen keyboard?
    2. How is it like when used for navigation i.e. using Waze or Google Maps? Does the maps and icons appear to be too small compared to the maps on the regular iPhone 13 or Pro Maxes?
    Thanks.

    • @jayavionharris

Hey, I had an iPhone 14 Pro Max and switched to the iPhone 13 mini because the pro max was simply too big. I’m a computer science engineering student and I realized that the main benefits (Better cameras, bigger screen, and 120hz) were so very underutilized from me it was actually a liability to me because of it’s size. On the mini, everything works flawlessly. The keyboard is a bit smaller so it’s a short adjustment period if you’re coming from a big phone but after a day it’s VERY manageable (especially easier to adjust if you’re coming from a larger iPhone instead of android). Same with navigation and media consumption apps. If you’re used to a big screen it will admittedly take an adjustment period, but you’ll never be directly hindered or unable to see something because of the size. If you’re older and are sensitive to smaller texts it can be a bit more difficult because a larger font affects the phone much more on the mini than it would to a regular or max. I’d only 100% recommend you to get one in your hands for a couple days and see how you like it. I had my mind made up and had NO intention on going back to a big phone, but the smaller screen can maybe be a deal breaker (not likely though, as the screen is not as small as it may seem). Like I mentioned, my studies and daily life has no need for a larger phones benefits, and the smaller size is a greater benefit than you could ever imagine. Hope this helps.

Been running on a iPhone SE 2016 for about 2 to 3 years now, moving 'back' to it from an iPhone 8 Plus, I just had it replaced by T-mobile. I love the size, but I understand that it will slowly be phased out, no more updates and I have noticed some sluggish network issues. So moving to the 12 mini over the older first gen SE would be good for me, as far as battery, the SE last me all day, but I do carry a battery pack designed for the iPhone. I think I will make the move to the 12 mini based on price, if I can find a 13 mini, better, definitely not moving to the 14, don't like the new SIM design.

I had the 12 mini but as you said that was inferior with the battery, camera and the chip. 13 mini has the same chip as those 14's and it is impressive.
Like you said the 13 mini battery is for single day use and for the casual user. The heavy user will see the battery could last up to 12 hour or a bit more but not a full day.

      Two best iPhones ever made
      iPhone SE (2016)
      iPhone SE (2022)
I use them both daily as the SE1 is used as an iPod for more convenient wired headphones listening. No need to charge wireless earbuds. Battery life lasts much longer using wired.
I still prefer my Flip 3, Razr 5G, and Pixel 3 over them because I'm an Android guy but SE 1 & 3 are only two iPhones I will ever need until Apple brings back Touch ID or anything with fingerprint security.
