  • In 1973, Amels built three North Sea pilot cutters for the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
As you might expect, these extremely capable hulls could withstand heavy sea states.
But If I asked you what do you think happened to one of these beautiful ships, then I bet you probably would not expect what you are about to see.
From the workhorse of the Dutch Ministry of Defence to a luxury explorer SuperYacht with a truly global reach, Motoryacht 'Just B' has been transformed into a world cruiser.
Her timeless lines carry with them the memories of the last 50 years.

She was a beautiful looking vessel before the conversion, and I am pleased that they kept the traditional lines of a graceful ship, without the obvious swimming platform aft.she is a joy to look at and keep an old retired seaman like me happy..a very well put together video.cheers Roly🇬🇧.

Hell will freeze over before I ever get a chance to buy a ship like that. If I do get wealthy enough, I would like to own one and use it as is. Go through all systems and make sure everything is up to par and do some serious serious boating.

I think each one of this class has been converted now, except for Markab which has been used for the last 7 or so years as an armoury boat in the Red Sea for a maritime security agency that specialises in supplying anti piracy crews for the hotspots around there. She’s now back on dry land in the Emirates, asking about €1.5m - start a GoFundMe 😉

Thank You for a great video, images, and narration. I think this is the way to go for serious / practical / experienced owners. Find the sturdies / most seaworthy hull, and get a realistic assessment of the cost and process of converting same to your specifications, and ongoing operation.

ooooh Johnno, you're back with us from your slip into temptation, good boy. Yet another beauty that's going on the list, (interior not withstanding). As you know, one of the first things i look out for on an explorer/expedition yacht is the size of the tender and their storage. I don't see the point of travelling to the far flung parts with only a 4 seat condom with 20hp strapped to the back. This baby has 2 of a sensible size with one stored port side, love it. As me bruvver Oliver is always saying, more please.

looks ice class B. A bit slow.. 17knts would be preferable wit a 12knt cruise, but that would require substantial re-engineering. Still would like a crane of 5T+ and helipad.

Even if the owner can genuinely afford to buy the boat. Cruise around for three years then sell it. How can you put a price on experience.
Because at the end, about all we have left are memories.
