    I hate it when I order something, get excited about getting it, and then it doesn't work. 🥴 Great video!👍

    So much great information from this video! Thank you so much for posting this. I also have a sportster 1200 and want to put a windshield on it. Like you I've read, watched, read, and watched countless video's, and reviews. This video is by far the most helpful. Thanks again Carl for the fantastic video,,, and help.

      I don’t know if you watched any of my other videos but I went with the Memphis Shades Del Rio and so far so good. I can’t wait for some warm weather to go for a really good ride and test it out really good.

    Hey Carl. That is physics! the air you push always from your chest need to go same where . Most of it will be redirected over the shield. The fix for that is to have a longer wider wind shield to push that extra air over your helmet.
    My original wind shield on the my 1200T create buffeting too, but not bad because it is very wide. I do not do much highway but one day i will buy the wind shield extender to be installed on the top of my wind shield. That extension will still create buffeting however the air wil be pushed over my helmet and keep my head inside a pocket of silence 😉

      I have been doing some home research and I think the extra room around the headlight is allowing a lot of air to flow around the headlight and sucking the wind around the cut outs on the lower fairing. New shield arrives tomorrow 🤞🏻

    Carl, I went with the Memphis Shades Del Rey for my Sportster & absolutely love it. It came highly recommended by another You Tuber “Great Egret” it’s a little smaller but takes the edge off, good luck, hope you figure it out, really enjoying your channel!

    WoW.. Sorry to hear about your “disappointment”...
    Do hope your new screen will solve your problem.
    Do keep us informed.
    Actually I have the 2020 model of the Iron 1200... and I’m very much planning to install a windscreen.
    So I’m most definitely interested in all your projects.

    I have the Memphis Shades El Paso 19" installed on mine today. Went for a highway ride and it works great. Yours (15") is too low. You need the taller windshield.

    • @MotorcyclingwithCarl
      @MotorcyclingwithCarl  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with the Del Rio and it is working perfect but I bet the 19” would even be better!

    @mohawkmikemotorcycles9077 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have had the same issue. Left it off. Maybey a sport fairing would work better. That would change things. Even a shorter windshield might help. Going wider vs taller. Cool channel. That sporty is rad.

    • @MotorcyclingwithCarl
      @MotorcyclingwithCarl  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks going to give the del rio a shot if that doesn’t work it will be back to the drawing board. I really want to do some long trips next season so I want to figure something out that is easy on and off and will provide protection. I will be checking out more stuff on your channel tonight.

    Sorry to hear it's not working properly mate, maybe a shorter one would be better. I had the same problems on certain bike's at the shop I worked at with factory fitted screens. Helmet buffeting is a pain. hopefully the next one will be better. Stay safe mate 👍🇦🇺

    Hi Carl - Sorry to hear on the buffeting on the El Paso. I am thinking the larger opening around the headlight had some impact and created a vacuum of increased air to increase buffeting. I had ordered and installed the Memphis Shades Del Rey. I'm extremely happy with it. It is taller than the El Paso...it may be too tall looking for some...the wind does go very much over me. The beauty of the gradient black or smoke on these bikes is that the windshield does "disappear". I do "pop" it on/off instantly for the longer rides. Here is a link: th-cam.com/video/AXYYNKb4e2c/w-d-xo.html. The Great Egret also has a great site/review too: th-cam.com/video/AIEPCyM3NXc/w-d-xo.html. Look forward to it working out for you...I know it will! Thank you as always for sharing!!

      Thanks for the info I am going to check it out. I do personally have a feeling the gap around the headlight is the probably cause. I am going to be waiting patiently for the Del Rio to arrive 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
