  • I've been getting some great feedback and interest in the Memphis Shades Cafe Fairing on my Iron 1200! So I wanted to do a review to let everyone know exactly what you're getting with this fairing. This video will provide my thoughts on some key points such as looks and functionality. The video also has a complete walk around so you'll get an idea of what this fairing will look like on your bike if you're interested in it!
    Drop a comment down below if you have any other questions on the fairing I didn't cover, or any other parts on my Iron 1200 you might be interested in getting more information on for reviews in the future.

    I'm thinking of installing the HD or HD like "speed screen" fairing strictly for looks on my Nightster. Your thoughts of the stock fairing? Did you not like the stock HD fairing? Sounds like your decision was driven by blocking some wind in addition to the looks. Many thx for your sharing your content...great looking bike! Many thx!!

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! That small stock HD one is okay of you like the looks. I think its definitely just a style piece. I like the looks and wind deflection of a bigger one. Definitely check out memphis shades, they have tons of options.

    @NYGiantInTX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fairing looks good. I'm planning on getting one for the same bike but not sure exactly which one to go with. This one sounds good. One thing I don't like about the bike is the wind resistance so, I'm definitely looking for a way to cut that down without putting what I call a cop shield on the front.

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! This does help cut some wind but not enough to take away that natural wind feeling of riding. I'm a big fan of the looks! Good luck finding one you like!

    Do you plan on getting the extended block for a flush headlight? I think that would give it a clean look.

    Is this for a 5 3/4 or 7 inch headlight? Thinking of putting it on a MotoGuzzi.

    • @TheMotoJawn

      Thanks! Its 5 and ³/4 headlight. Not sure what the fitment is for other brands or style bikes.

  • @NevermoreMoto
    @NevermoreMoto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    10/10 would put a road warrior on my Triumph. 😂. I’ve heard one “complaint” about the fairings is it deflects the wind off your chest, but redirects a lot of wind up from the bottom and blows your shirt up. Any issues there?

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm interesting, I haven't noticed that but I'm a shorter guy, so I could see if a taller person being more upright might have that happen getting more direct wind.

  • @Ryan-lv8dw
    @Ryan-lv8dw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When Installing this did you just take the old one off, mount the brackets and toss this on without moving the clutch cable and taking off the turn signals?

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah simple swap out. Shouldn't have to move any light or cables. At least if you're still using the stock bars.

  • @HD2O13XL12OOC

    What about updraft. drafts / wind from around the tank area and up Do you get some of that too?

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think so not anything out of the normal. I will so though I am a shorter guy so I think blocks pretty well for me. Taller people might sit up higher in a more direct wind path.

    Can you do an install video with what parts are used. Memphis shades customer service is not helping. I ordered the cafe fairing part number 7301 and install kit but the clamps included in the kit are too big. It also looks like it really isnt going to fit on the forks. Please help

    It looks like the headlight sits extremely far back compared to stock. Does this cut nighttime visibility by narrowing the light output?

    • @TheMotoJawn

    Think with this fairing I could still fit some 4' speakers at the bass of the bars?

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will help cut some wind but being taller i think you'll still be taking some to the chest region. I'm shorter so I think a lot of goes up and over me.

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely cuts more wind than the stock one. I'm pretty short though so I dont sit up very high. Someone taller might still take a lot of wind.

    • @TheMotoJawn

      I have a saddlemen step up seat. Maybe not the best pad for the passenger but it works. Harley has a few of their own brand for 2 up sportster "touring" with more cushion. Stay tuned this week I have a video coming out about the my saddlemen seat.
