I wanted to thank you for the detailed videos. I've changed brake pads and rotors many times, but never a caliper or had to bleed a brake line. My daughters Elantra needed all 4 rotors and RR caliper changed for a state inspection. Part total was less than $200. I can't imagine what my garage would've charged. I can't tell you how many times I viewed this video before I got started. It gave me the confidence to proceed and I completed the task yesterday saving the caliper/rotor wheel for last. We're up and running. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm going to be doing my first attempt at brakes soon. Mechanic in town quoted me $625 for new rear calipers and rotors. I'm sick of not being able to do this myself so Ive been watching a lot of videos on car repair. I think for $625 I could buy all the parts and tools for less or the same price. Plus learning how will save me money in the long run. I have a 2012 elantra. Edit: doing the rear caliper, rotors and pads today. Also the parts I needed I got for 380 and I can return the previous cores for $60. The tools were the expensive part. But theyre an investment for future projects. I spent at least 400 on tools because i literally bought everything I could or might need for doing this. I didnt have any tools before.
Thank you again. I changed my rear rotors, calipers, and pads thanks to you guys. I had a friend come over (hes a mechanic). He double checked my work and helped me bleed the brakes. I'm going to be paranoid for a while though. Im costantly checking for leaks. But the pulsating is gone now.
Any tips on aligning the back of the inner brake pad (with the little protrusion) into the "hole" of the brake piston? Is that a crucial step? (Not talking about the wear feeler thing).

Skipped the most important part: Parking Break back onto the caliper hook....

You skipped putting the parking brake onto the caliper hook.

How’d you take the clip off the emergency brake
For breaking the brake clip loose, I used a little Wd-40 and a mid size lever to pop it off.
And you did NOT connected your emergency brake wire. This is useless...

Caliper bolt 50 ft/lbs I believe is incorrect.
