Thank you very much for taking your work very seriously and providing us with these enlightening contents.
Officially won over.. This was an outstanding video explaining in detail the 011 evo features and you even showed it to us with an eATX board, which is exactly what i was trying to see. Just bought the case. Keep up the great work!
I genuinely think your content is quite under rated, good review, shame ATX is too big for me, currently on M-ATX, and I'm considering ITX for when I go DDR5 at the end 2022/start of 2023
@Callum Leigh Montgomery I have a Asus Crosshair Impact ITX in my 011D with the horizontal mounting bracket. Mine is water cooled with two 360 rads side and roof. They are wonderful. I am going to get the EVO because I want to clean up my plumbing. I will be able to sell my 011D with my older hardware and finally afford to buy a gpu!
I was thinking of moving to the Air Mini for my next build, but I've had issues with smaller cases in the past. This could be a good compromise between overall footprint and better airflow (with the front grille of course)
This is a groundbreaking review Leo! i really like, that you take your time showing off, all the features and possibilities of this case. This is the most flexible and versatile case i have seen so far. Thanks for doing so.
I can never get used to the use of pounds as a currency. When Leo said it was 300 pounds worth of fans, I was thinking those must be made of some very heavy material.
No need for a review. I've already immediately clicked over to the manufacturers website and looked at all the specs upon first glance of the thumbnail. I've finally found the case I've been looking for all this time. Breath of fresh air.
Best case review I've seen in a long while, straight to the point. Fast and precise, directly to what we want to know or see. You were very knowledgeable and helpful, thank you.
My thoughts exactly; this is the first KitGuru video I’ve watched and I was mightily impressed at how comprehensively all the elements of the case and accessories were covered! I will be subscribing momentarily and buying the EVO for my new build. 👍👍👍
I liked the flipping feature, because when I bought my first case with the glass window I realized I am sitting in a position where noone can see it, including me. So that feature is great for small rooms, where you can't move the PC. I always liked those lian li cases and this one prooves that it has plenty of features that gamers always need or might need. Although seeing what they have done, I would expect a fully modular case in the future, where you can attach components to a rail and then move the rail inside the PC - ease of installation :D
I realise this is quite an old review, but I intend to buy this case soon and have watched a fair few reviews. It's not often I leave a comment, but your review was head and shoulders better than any other (even compared to more popular channels). Succinct, informative and thorough without the unnecessary waffle, cut scenes and fluff. The fact that you compared to to the original O11 Dynamic was fantastic!
Thanks for another great review, Leo. This is a very interesting case. However, I'd like to see Lian Li include the mesh option with the case, as my be quiet! Silent Base 802 did.
The flipping part with this case would be huge for me. I struggle with finding anything else thatd look neat along the left side of my seteup, but this case does. So sad that the upright riser is so badly executed, no way I would want a massive cable through the middle of my pc. Great review, hopefully theyll rework it and make a Mini!
I'm using the O11 Dynamic XL and all what I can Say its just AMAZING how good it is. BUT Seeing this O11 Dynamic EVO is something else. It's like a dream comes true. This is latterly (THE BEST CASE EVER). THANKS A LOT LIAN LI FOR LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS OPINIONS AND IMPROVE IT TO A MASTER PIECE. YOU HAVE MY RESPECT
Fantastic review. This case has it all! I just finished my build in the XL in black, but the EVO has me wanting to buy it just to build another machine in it! I love how modular and tool less so many things are. It would be interesting to know how much one would have to spend extra on a lot of those accessories. I definitely think the mesh front should be included for that price at the least. The 60mm fan mounts for HDDs are interesting and probably make sense since storage never gets active cooling in the Dynamic series when put in the back of the case. Thanks Leo!
Finally, a case with a detachable front IO. This means that I know I can install the front panel connectors before putting the motherboard in the case.
I'm presently building my first new PC in nearly two decades. I have decided on this (Evo) case, due (albeit not entirely on yours) to the many TH-cam reviews. It's not quite top-tier bits, but far closer than any of my previous machines. (Ryzen 9 5900x, MSI Tomahawk X570, 32GB G.Skill 16c, etc.) Anyway - my reason for writing is to compliment your presentation style. I am retired from the US Army and appreciate a clear, honest, professional and informative briefing. You deliver on all counts. Well done, and thank you!
31:12 it is my opinion that if you are using a tempered glass chassis, a 270 one such as this, you would be mounting it ON the desk and not on the ground. Therefore, the lower I/O is more practical AND if you want the top I/O you PURCHASE it. Though, I don't think it really cost that much just to have included it.
Great & professional review! I was debating buying this, the old O11, and the Hyte y60. I am now sure that buying this probably won't be a mistake! Only complaint are the prices they charge for the accessories, like the Riser cable!
24:34 that cooler is from like 2015/16 not recent at all I remember getting that cooler brand new back in 2016 for my very first PC build and also Corsair has released so many coolers over the years since with a different design. I know its old since they haven't released a cooler with that design in ages and on the box it still says Corsair Link which was their old PC component control software which they had since the early 2010's and back in like 2014 they introduced Corsair CUE (Corsair Utility Engine) for their gaming peripherals and in like 2019 I think it was they merged the 2 softwares together in to Corsair iCUE to control gaming peripherals and PC components in one software as well as synchronise the RGB of gaming peripherals and PC components
I've been torn between the O11D Xl and the Corsair 680X (White) for a while now, neither had the HDD capacity I needed (I'm downsizing from a CM Storm Stryker), this came at the perfect time. This will be my next case in white. Nice review!
A beautiful looking and very practical case I have to agree. Have shortlisted it for my next build. Thanks Leo. Pity though, that they spoled it by putting the usb connections at the bottom of the case instead of on the side as previously.
Been waiting for this. It was supposed to be released today but I can't find it for sale anywhere. Usually Overclockers is good but no mention of it. The O11 air mini was meant to be released on the 15th but has been put back to the 23rd.
It's one of the best cases I've used. It's amazing to work with, and if you do custom water cooling it's also incredible. But I noticed one thing over time is that with the bottom as an intake a lot of dust gets inside, so I changed mine to have exhaust on the bottom and top, then the side as an intake. At idle I get temperatures of 31°C to 32°C on my CPU, and 36°C to 37°C on my GPU. It's also summer in Australia at the moment, and I'm getting temperatures for most triple A games is 62°C to 65°C.
This can't work well! The GPU fans suck air from the bottom and blow it Every Witch Way. You would have its fans and the bottom fans fighting against each other.
Thanks for this eval. Most useful for trying to decide upon a case for my next build. I agree with you, many of us put PCs on the floor and want io inputs on the top. The ability to flip the entire build in any case is essential. I may well buy this one bases upon your evaluation.
The closes I can come so far, using air mini with 3x 120mm fan bottom, 3x 120mm fan top, 2x 120mm fan side, 2x fan 140mm front, 1x 120mm fan rear, aio 220 2x fan 120mm on the front with push pull config. Modded to run the 3x 120mm fans on the bottom. E-ATX x570 aorus xtreme.
30:42, can you lower these side fans? I sold regular O11 Dynamic because there was problem to install 2x 360mm AIO (TOP and SIDE), because there was no space for side mounted radiator tubes - could brake them easily off 🥺, bought XL version and its nice BUT XL versions back panel with PCI-E slots ar sooo cheap and flimzy, like aluminum top panel... Regular O11 have strong back panel and my vertical GPU was stable!!! There are no 90' type-c connector on XL version but in O11 regular was! XL is worst than regular O1q, but what about that case? 🙄
Excellent video, keep up the good work!! I have a quick question: at minute 10:12 you show up a website with all the add-ons for this case. Do you mind sharing it? I'm interested in buying it but I want the front panel Mesh kit that you showed there. Thank you!
This case is so versatile and flexible! 😯 currently looking at ditching my nzxt elite that I have in black for a white case and this could be it.. great review
With 120mm fans on the bottom I was not able to plug in the connector for the front USB connections to the MB as there wasnt enough clearance between the MB and bottom fans. Beware.
Thanks for the tip but that's why you get slim fans (15mm or slimmer). The O11 Air Mini has the same issue when using an ATX board and the solution is the same.
Why is no one ever mentioning, when you flip-mount your GPU to the top, facing upwards. The thermals get significantly worse if you don't pull extra air from above via case fan. This also increases noise drastically depending on your GPU Cooler. Currently i have my case flipped, GPU upwards. Because the front IO faces now towards me, its more convenient that way. However, by doing so i started to hear my GPU and it startet to throttle. I hat to put a Fan on top of my GPU to counter act.
Q: How to reach the Front I/O if the case is on the floor? A: Computer cases should never be on the floor. Anyone that would select/can afford this case for a build would not put it on the floor.
Absolutely love this setup, especially with the Noctua fans. As my British friend says, "Superb" airflow. No arbitrary RGB unicorn puke everywhere, just pure performance. I have a question, does the RX 6800 XT or 6900 XT "need" an AIO block for cooling, or is adequate air cooling enough?
It'd be nice if that 'front' I/O could be moved to the rear of the case in a similar position. I've a corner desk with my PC beside me on the desk with the rear facing towards my monitor, so that the rear I/O is easily accessible. Having the front I/O at the rear would give me more options at an even easier to reach location
I think that I would like, more than anything else, for modular front I/O to become mainstream. I've turned away from a lot of otherwise great cases in the past because of their choice of front I/O positioning.
Of course, were you to fit a large air cooler it would be very impractical to fit the graphics card in the upright position on the right as its cables would not reach over the cooler and would be unsightly anyway.
Excellent review as always. Thank you.. I do have one suggestion for Lian Li. I wish there was a way to put a power supply in the front on the bottom like you can for the Asus Helios case. The Asus PSU has a readout. That's the only reason people will be buying the Asus case over this one, possibly me included
Hi Leo, That was a little bit unfair. Some of us need an inverted case not out of choice but necessity and finding one is excruciatingly difficult - we also sacrifice having to have our components orientated the 'wrong' way. I welcome more manufacturers embracing the need to invert the chassis so well done Lian-Li Having recently searched high and low, I ended up settling for the Silverstone LD01 which I only built a week or so ago. Had the O11 Evo been available then I would have snapped it up. Thank you for yet another great review happy holidays
@@KitGuruTech this video has convinced me to upgrade from my Corsair carbide spec omega rgb, I think it offers a lot more future proofing be it water or air cooling 😎 thanks for the video
New sub here, what about an air cooled O11 Dynamic Evo? There's rarely any builds for it and I was wondering if it would be any good. Chromax black fans all around and an NH-1U2A black would be sexy! Great review.
Can you fit a 360 rad in the front with 3 120mm fans in the bottom? I'm thinking of doing this with the arctic liquid ii 360 in the front and 3 more fans in the bottom for intake.
I love the upright GPU feature, but it's kinda sad that the huge riser cable covers so much of the motherboard. In a make believe world, I'd like to have a motherboard with a PCIE 16x where the ram is and the ram where the first PCIE slot is, so a short riser cable can run over the 24 pin mobo cable and have everything clean :D
If you want proper cooling this is not the correct orientation for the uprightl GPU mount you can look at Christopher's video and see that you can install the upright GPU with three fans behind it which actually makes for some of the best air cooling in the case
Good case but the top IO is stupendous. They should have a replaceable little tab in the box, not charge the whole plate. Same with the front glass. Either have an airflow version or put it in the box. Bequiet has many panels in the box, ie.
So I see it the evo case the side Intank fans are mounted behind the fan bracket closer to the back panel fesh air slots, my question is I just bought the Gen 1 oll dynamic and so many people mount the fans in the mobo side of the chamber, but gamer nexus mounted the fans and you mounted the fan in the evo in the psu side of the chamber, what one is the better/correct way? Closer to the air and mesh gaurd of the back panel, like where a pump res would sit or bumped out in the front of the case?
Hey Leo! Would love it to see a vid of the most optimized fans config for the case with thermal results. And what’s the best GPU placement as well. Seems like an unsettled topic amongst the case owners of the O11 line cases.
Where in your videos or this video would i find out how to install the GPU in a horizontal fashion (regular way)? I can't find ANYONE doing it ,I heard there is a special bracket that keeps the card from sagging. I really need instruction on that as they are not in the manual. Everyone is left to guess as to how to install the GPU horizontally. Thanks in advance if you can shed any light on this.
We know a 180 degree rotation is possible, but does the same mechanism allow for a 90 degree rotation? i.e. can you put the 'front' of the case into the separate base piece? It would largely block off the power button but that can be worked around with an external power button.
A very detailed and comprehensive review 💥>>> Thank you 😎 Although the space is tempting to upgrade, if you don't have any additional items to add, a lot of space will be open and the case will not be beautiful. Just an opinion. keep it on with your excellent reviews. 👍🏻
I just bought the o11 evo, and I didn’t get all those accessories with it? Like the mesh front panel and the other stuff? All I got extra was the extra storage bracket? Am I not suppose to get all those other things? Do you have to buy it separately?
Why did they put the front USB IOs on the leg as default? There is an optional IO plate that you have to buy separately but I think that is the one that should have been included and not the feet IO.
Most people that would want to purchase a showcase case like this would definitely not be putting it on the floor and would be putting it on their desktop, so the bottom mounted I/O is actually in an ideal location, especially since you can move it to the side that is not the show side and allow your cables for your keyboard and mouse to go off the back of the desk and back up onto the desk or into the pull out keyboard tray, I like the idea of having the second I/O panel for that side and putting the original one with the headphone jack on either the front or the show side so that you can plug the keyboard and mouse in the back and have the cables hidden and your headset in the front, I've just ordered mine and am excited to move my PC out of my old case and into this one, unfortunately the GPU my buddy bought me for my B-day is about half an inch too big for my current case
I was close to getting an o11d XL but this seems to be similar. Is there any major differences? Is the XL still bigger than this or about the same now? Also, I was now even considering the huge y60, but it’s backordered till late June.
stupid question(s): are the fans blowing in the case or out (or a mix)? Same question for the cpu cooler. I'm running under the assumption of having mix with more intake than exhaust to give positive pressure, but maybe I'm a dummy.
Thank you for the amazing review! I have a quick question: are the front glass panels themselves identical between the old and new generation? I am asking because I have a custom reservoir the fits the old O11D, and I am wondering if I can fit it in the new O11D Evo. Thanks !
Leo here: Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I didn't compare the two panels but am 90+% sure they are different. The cases are different sizes and the installation method for the panels is different so you are surely out of luck.

Currently i have my case flipped, GPU upwards. Because the front IO faces now towards me, its more convenient that way. However, by doing so i started to hear my GPU and it startet to throttle. I hat to put a Fan on top of my GPU to counter act.
I love that blacked out look.
Flipping great as he said 🙃 looking forward to it love my mesh lancool 2 though! Saved me money on the hanging gpu thanks!!
Great review Leo!!!
I just want to say that ur great reviewer gj dude.
I really like the configuration options of this case.
Hi Leo,
That was a little bit unfair. Some of us need an inverted case not out of choice but necessity and finding one is excruciatingly difficult - we also sacrifice having to have our components orientated the 'wrong' way.
I welcome more manufacturers embracing the need to invert the chassis so well done Lian-Li
Having recently searched high and low, I ended up settling for the Silverstone LD01 which I only built a week or so ago. Had the O11 Evo been available then I would have snapped it up.
Thank you for yet another great review happy holidays
putting the glass panel, onto the glass panel... and then a steel panel on top of that... it made me cry XD
You'll be glad to know that no parts were damaged as you can see in our second look th-cam.com/video/DOLthP8F81U/w-d-xo.html
That's one of the main reasons to get the mesh front panel. Air cooling.
Switched O11D to Evolv X. Best choice so far.
Still waiting for a big version that comes out of the box with a front mesh, an "O11 XL Mesh".
Can you fit a 360 rad in the front with 3 120mm fans in the bottom? I'm thinking of doing this with the arctic liquid ii 360 in the front and 3 more fans in the bottom for intake.
Can the support bar on the front be removed to make it like a water tank. If you move the bottom front panel to the top, does it interfere with fans ?
I love the upright GPU feature, but it's kinda sad that the huge riser cable covers so much of the motherboard. In a make believe world, I'd like to have a motherboard with a PCIE 16x where the ram is and the ram where the first PCIE slot is, so a short riser cable can run over the 24 pin mobo cable and have everything clean :D
If you want proper cooling this is not the correct orientation for the uprightl GPU mount you can look at Christopher's video and see that you can install the upright GPU with three fans behind it which actually makes for some of the best air cooling in the case
Would love to see an air cooler build on that board. Does anyone know of a vid or source where I can find one?
Good case but the top IO is stupendous. They should have a replaceable little tab in the box, not charge the whole plate. Same with the front glass. Either have an airflow version or put it in the box. Bequiet has many panels in the box, ie.
Fractal Design Torrent: Hey, hold my beer!
Thanks in advance if you can shed any light on this.
been waiting for this. will be perfect for my 3080ti hybrid
We know a 180 degree rotation is possible, but does the same mechanism allow for a 90 degree rotation? i.e. can you put the 'front' of the case into the separate base piece?
It would largely block off the power button but that can be worked around with an external power button.
A very detailed and comprehensive review 💥>>> Thank you 😎
Although the space is tempting to upgrade, if you don't have any additional items to add, a lot of space will be open and the case will not be beautiful.
What you think about lian li 012
Strange design you think is ok for airflow ?
Thx lot
What's that mounting piece for the reservoir into the rad fan??
he did do the best job out of hardware sites and is a big+
Oh great. Now I have to decide between the Fractal Torrent and 011 Dynamic Evo.
They are very different cases - surely one of them just feels right while the other is OK
When is the release date? They messed up with lian li o11 mini air version. Still not available here in Holland.
Can you fit a 360 aio at the front and still get 3 fans in the bottom?
The change in orientation should be offered on more cases.
I just bought the evo one question mine didn't come with the side or top dust filter I'm assuming this is a mistake ?
stupid question(s): are the fans blowing in the case or out (or a mix)? Same question for the cpu cooler. I'm running under the assumption of having mix with more intake than exhaust to give positive pressure, but maybe I'm a dummy.
wonder if these optional accessories cost extra or them come with case?
Can you mount an 360 AIO on the front with the mesh panel kit, or can you only mount 3 fans with the mesh kit at the front ? 😃
Indeed you can mount a 360mm radiator in the front, side or top, just like the original O11D
@@KitGuruTech Thnaks :)
So glad they don't ship fans with the case. First thing I do to a new case is remove all the preinstalled fans.
@@KitGuruTech Okay thanks for the info, I'll just stick to the original dynamic case, shouldn't matter much for water cooling. Cheers =)
i would say that vertical GPU stand thingy isn't just for show... but also great support for the RTX series cards which are HEAVY as fuuuuuuck
