I just finished installing the 140mm lian li inf fans and they fit so nicely into this case. Honestly, this has been the easiest case to work with... EVERYTHING is well thought out and I know many of you aren't going to believe me... But not one single screw has gone in crooked, stripped, or caused any issues whatsoever. Everything has played nice and it's a relief to see this sort of quality in 2023. Most things are rushed and done poorly... this case so well built it actually feels like I got my money's worth and then some.
This video helped me but not in the usual way. I had unboxed my case and was watching this, saw the security screws to remove front panel but mine didn't have those. Looked closer and realized Amazon sent me the Dynamic Evo instead of the Dyamic Evo XL I had ordered. Thank you for helping me catch that so I could exchange it
Hi Christopher, I completed my first ever PC build using this guide. This was exactly what I needed and I am greatly appreciative of the effort and care you took in putting up such a comprehensive video. In fact it was the deciding factor that made me get a Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo XL. Keep up the good work!!
This video was amazing. The first 30 mins, showing me all the options the case has - beautiful. I can't tell you how many times I watched this, it was insanely helpful. Thank you!
Thank you!! Exactly what I was looking for and you covered most of the major options that need to be taken into consideration during a build like this. Great job!!!
I ordered this case to do a pretty similar build and just found this video. I was really concerned the 120mm reverse fans I ordered would look out of place in the large case but alas they look amazing in your build. Well done
Bought a prebuilt and couldn’t figure out how to get the panel off lol. Lovely review, even though I came just to see how to get the window off, the rest of it was so clear I just kept watching, also love that Irish accent!
Hey man, thanks a TON! Wanted to build my first PC, loved this thorough and well paced instructional..decided to with this case (different individual components). With the help of this video I built a monster PC in two days and it works first time. Thanks!!!!
Thank you for your guide, Christopher. This one and your version for PC build beginners really helped me out as a first timer. The only thing you said that I questioned was the “no dust filter” on the exhaust fans. I’m seeing mixed opinions on that, so maybe it would have been good to discuss the pros and cons.
Am I the only one who has the urge to buy this case and then load it up with four 3.5" drives, two 2.5" drives, the fan hub and three 420mm rads with every possible fan on them. Go big or go home.
Bellissimo video, ottima spiegazione e colpo d'occhio sul case e sulla build. Complimenti. Il migliore visto fino ad ora - Great video, great explanation and overview of the case and build. Compliments. The best I've seen so far
In case it hasn't been mentioned elsewhere: If you already have the 600mm riser cable for a vertical install in the 011D Evo (non XL) like I did from my previous build, it WILL in fact fit fine in the XL, no need to buy the expensive 900mm one. This is provided you install the GPU in the upright position with the riser side facing the motherboard (so you'd be plugging in your monitors in the TOP of the case), and the motherboard in the middle or top position. You'd also need to connect the riser cable after the card was installed, and then just run it through the grommet next to the card. I'm not sure if it would work with the motherboard in the bottom position, as I did not test that and it would extend the cable further).
You, good sir, just built my exact plan, just in white instead of black. Only other real differences are my choice of motherboard, ram, and storage solutions. Those HDD trays and associated cables need to go, lol. Great case review/build guide though. She’s a beauty.
I just did a build in this case. Make sure to leave the hinged covers open when installing your graphics card. Especially if it covers slots on the separate sections if you have the MB in the lowest bracket. Mine covers three (3rd and 4th top 1st bottom)and I couldn't figure it out for like 20 minutes.
Excellent and very comprehensive review, thank you. 😎 Although the space is tempting, if you don't have any additions to add, there are many open spaces. 🙄
hi Chris, I vote for the optimal fan configuration video. I have the original o11 Evo and wondering how thermals would be in the XL with top fan and side fan configurations. I remember in the original Evo video, you'd recommend installing the AIO rad on the side and having those fans as intake which is what I did by your suggestion. In this video you have it on the top so wondering if you changed your mind about where to place this rad. Thanks
Hey Mr prawn. You do know the black cases or maybe newer cases purchased have an extra thumb screw on the back next to where the power supply goes into. But yeah there is an extra thumb screw on the back in the middle slot where the power supply goes. Do not take the 4 out and think why won’t this motherboard tray come out, there’s 5 thumbscrew you must take out for newer cases built or just the black versions. I am not 100% sure on that though. But I am 100% sure I almost bent my motherboard tray trying to take it out watching the video thinking there was only 4, luckily I grabbed the manual and noticed a 5th thumb screw.
The only thing that I didn't see here is that some AIO's use a backer for intel 1700 cpus, and you want to put those on before you put the motherboard in the case, as your AIO installation is after the motherboard goes in. Other than that, great guide! helped me build my first pc.
Assembled my first pc step by step with your lan cool 2 videos in 2020. Now I have a 4090 in it and was wondering if I should get a new case, though my lan cool 2 is still amazing. Would you recommend this in black for a non rgb build? need to see the thermal differences
First time viewer, will be back for more reviews and build guides as I plan mine out, have you done a performance test like passmark on this build? Would be interested how it performs with these parts
Chris, thanks so much for this thorough video. If you have time could you answer 3 questions. -Does the l-connect software allow the user to setup separate fan curves for each individual fan? -Can you fit a 420 AIO on top and if so does that create any compatibility/fit issues with fans or GPU on the side of the motherboard? -You can buy a front mesh kit for installing front intake fans. If you do this, will that create any compatibility/fit issues? Thanks again.
Question: 🙋♂️ the two 120 rear fans those are the regular fans acting as exhaust so they’re not reverse? Also when he put the GPU up right, the fans there were 140s acting as exhaust or intake( reverse fans)?
What was the total fan breakdown? Which fans were reverse and which ones weren’t? If i understand correctly it seems just the bottom fans were reverse blade everything else was normal?
The fans fit fine with the blanking plates at 7:00 however if you have the QX link fans by Corsair you cant get the plate on because of the connector. Anyone reading this, mount 140mm fans if going with the QX link range
Thank you for amazing guide. I buy the case and im looking for buying fans. How many fans should i buy and which ? 3 fan from radiator ?x infinity fans ?x reverse blade
I’d say if you want to cover all the holes, x4 Sl inf for top mount exhaust. Get the Galahad 2 and side mount X4 Sl inf rev blade for bottom X2 sl inf for exhaust on left side of case.
I’m building my first pc and I have this case and I’m curious what the purpose of having the fans above the radiator do? I assume they are set to exhaust to help push out air from the lower exhaust fans of the radiator? Just looking for proper guidance in properly building :)
Hello, this is a bit of a strange question but I was wondering can that front right side panel (the panel with the power button) be removed just like it could be in the original O11D Evo?
30:38 wait I don't want everything upside down, just on the right side to have the pc on the left. Can I flip JUST the mainboard tray now? So everything is updright again, but still on that side of the case???
Waiting exactly for this, i rather have lian li fans than Corsair icue link, hope it gets released so that i can finally upgrade to this case build from my existing Antec P120 crystal case for my new Intel 14700K build i have planned for this winter.
Hi, I am following your build and it is just fantastic for help with my second build. I have hit small issue with my new case (Evo XL) it has 2 x 3.0 USB headers as you have stated so I thought I would buy a splitter and its not working? I must have bought the wrong splitter. Can you tell me the correct splitter so all 4 usb plugs work. (MB - Rog Strix 590-A single port) many thanks M
Hi Christopher. When you have several fans daisy chained like that in a single channel, can each fan be addressed, or do they all get controlled as one single device?
Thanks for telling is how to take off the bracket what u installed the gpu to... instruction manual here we go... the only think I wanted to know amd u didn't even tell us what a waste of my phone data
@ChristopherFlannigan i just realised after buying all the parts of my case i only have 1 x usb 3.0 header and 1 x usb 2.0 header on my mobo. I noticed in your guide u need 2 x usb 2.0. One usb 2.0 for the Galahad AIO and 1 x usb 2.0 for the uni hub for the fans. Does that mean i cant follow your guide and need a new mobo? or is there a way around it? Many Thanks
For this exact mobo / case does the type c front io port support the 20 Gbps speed of the usb 3.2 2x2 header? I cant find a solid on if the header or port dictate speed for usb type c.
Just got my case but im already having issues taking off the front panel. The top panels thumb screw is too tight, i was able to unscrew the one next to it but im having no luck. Any tips
Question: Does the GPU Support Bracket that you show in this video come with the Case? Or do you have to buy it separately. I can't tell from the description at Micro Center if it comes with the GPU Bracket for the Horizontal mounting or not. Also does that magnetic dust filter and the cover plates for 120mm fans on side come with the case?
After searching another unboxing video from Jordan Ash, I found that in the accessory kit, it comes with the cover plates for the 120mm fans on side and the GPU Support Bracket. It looks like the Extra Magnetic Dust filter does not come with it, but If I plan on using the 360 rad at the top, I assume I can move the dust filter to the side. Is that correct?
Hi, I have some questions about this case. I just changed my focus from NV7 to this case because I want to use the "RM1200x SHIFT PSU from Corsair" and as you see, This PSU has a different cable position. So if I mount this PSU in NV7 it is just the game over to me because the cables that I have to use are facing on the top side of the case and there is no space left for any cables to use. But in the o11D EVO XL, I noticed that top hot-swap storage cage @ 49:57. Can that thing be removable? If it is removable there are no more problems for this PSU from all cables have to face on top of the case. Thank you.
i got this case with a 4080 super and some times when its under a heavy load i can hear the gpu bracket vibrate when i hold it with my hand it stops. any suggestions on how i can fix it?
Im currently looking for a case. This case is great, but its too big for me. I prefer the original 011D, but my problem with that one is that the corner support bracket is not removable like this one. Thats my dilemma. My only other option is getting the NZXT H9 Flow case, but I dont like the placement of the psu in that case being the middle of the case opposite side the mobo. What are my options?
i can't find the sata port and power port for ssd on back panel :< my NMVE is 250gb and my ssd sata is 1tb but i can't find the ports so i can't use it
Wow, there is no assembly and review more complete than this. This content is wonderful, thank you.
I believe you i just finished building mine lol. What a masterpiece! Couldn’t agree more with ya

Well done Chis. Took a lot from your video to build in the o11 XL case and it looks fantastic.
THE most thorough guide i have seen yet. amazing job!
Am I the only one who has the urge to buy this case and then load it up with four 3.5" drives, two 2.5" drives, the fan hub and three 420mm rads with every possible fan on them. Go big or go home.
Why not
Yeah, you're the only one. 😁
I'm about 60% of the way with ya there 😅
Me too lol
Doing the same. God bless. Jesus loves you!
Yes ! I have been waiting for this !
Hope it was worth the wait

I love this build. I just got the same motherboard and case. Only think really different is i'm using an ASRock aqua 7900xtx and making a custom loop.
Very detailed guide, 10/10 Especially the small things helped me a lot! Thank you so much!
Loving this video and enjoying putting this case together. Only thing I ran into this far is having to order a 2.0 to 3.2 adaptor
Thank you very much for this detailed guide. Followed each section and it helped a ton to setup my pc faster.Cheers!
Great production once again Christopher
Your welcome
Wonderful tutorial … every details have been clearly pointed out
Excellent and very comprehensive review, thank you. 😎

Great channel every video explains things fully, I especially love your case thermal videos. *Yes Im subscribing*
Thank you so much for this build video. We built the same pc with a few exceptions.

Nice case. It is a shame though that you can't move the PSU to the top or bottom of the case. Maybes in the next revision?
You never know
Great work. I've already pre-ordered Evo XL case today.
hope you could test the upright GPU sson. :D
Coming soon
This case is awesome, I hope Lian Li can release a Mini of this version for matx builds, I would buy it without thinking twice.
Assembled my first pc step by step with your lan cool 2 videos in 2020. Now I have a 4090 in it and was wondering if I should get a new case, though my lan cool 2 is still amazing. Would you recommend this in black for a non rgb build? need to see the thermal differences
Could do, but I much prefer RGB build in simple white
About the GPU anti sag brackets. Check if your GPU is heavy/has enough width before installing it
very nice guide as always thank you❤
Your welcome
Very nice video friend, a question, what is the name of the screwdriver, what are you using?❤
The best review. I buy it. From Russia with LOVE!
I actually love this case. I would order one if i didn’t already have the normal O11D Evo.
First time viewer, will be back for more reviews and build guides as I plan mine out, have you done a performance test like passmark on this build? Would be interested how it performs with these parts

What's the electric screwdriver? Thanks
I don't have the support bracket for the back fans!!
Great video as usuall Christopher :)

Wow, this is the best review. thank you
Awesome video, very detailed! Looking forward to the thermal testing review and which push/pull orientation is best!
Kingston FURY Renegade RGB White is only showing as XMP
just want to check that it will work with Expo before ordering with that MB and case
3 fan from radiator

I’d say if you want to cover all the holes,
x4 Sl inf for top mount exhaust.
Get the Galahad 2 and side mount
X4 Sl inf rev blade for bottom
X2 sl inf for exhaust on left side of case.
hi, great video. Rearging to adding extra 3 fans on top of radiator, is really necessary? increase a lot cooling of the case? tks
Stupid question maybe, with the individual fans, do they come with cables to connect to the controller, or no?
I’m building my first pc and I have this case and I’m curious what the purpose of having the fans above the radiator do? I assume they are set to exhaust to help push out air from the lower exhaust fans of the radiator? Just looking for proper guidance in properly building :)
Hello, this is a bit of a strange question but I was wondering can that front right side panel (the panel with the power button) be removed just like it could be in the original O11D Evo?
No, just the USB modules
great clip, very clear thank you. What long riser cable did you use for the GPU vertical mounting.
Awesome video. Is it difficult to find motherboards with two USB 3.0 headers?
Ty for the masterclass
Fantastic video!
Very good guide. Do you have a solution for this? Lian Li cannot supply an O11D EVO I/O kit for USB 3.2 Type-C and two USB 3.2 Type-A
30:38 wait I don't want everything upside down, just on the right side to have the pc on the left.
Can I flip JUST the mainboard tray now?
So everything is updright again, but still on that side of the case???
I'm hoping to see a Lian Li 140mm infinity fan 3 pack come available soon for this case, in both normal and reverse configurations.
Same, dont really care if they come in a 3 pack but 140mm reverse fans would be great.
Waiting exactly for this, i rather have lian li fans than Corsair icue link, hope it gets released so that i can finally upgrade to this case build from my existing Antec P120 crystal case for my new Intel 14700K build i have planned for this winter.
Any vertical raiser that works? The older ones are not compatible.
Thank you so much
Your welcome
Great review. One question. Let’s suppose i have more fans , can i install a lian li fan controller with the aio controller?
How do you flip the case so that the right side of the case is glass as opposed to the default left side?

Did you install the screw on the motherboard closest to the expansion slots? I read that people have experienced issues with this board and case

What diameter of 15 mm thick fans can be installed to cool a hard drive?
Hi, I have some questions about this case. I just changed my focus from NV7 to this case because I want to use the "RM1200x SHIFT PSU from Corsair" and as you see, This PSU has a different cable position. So if I mount this PSU in NV7 it is just the game over to me because the cables that I have to use are facing on the top side of the case and there is no space left for any cables to use.

Thank you.
i got this case with a 4080 super and some times when its under a heavy load i can hear the gpu bracket vibrate when i hold it with my hand it stops. any suggestions on how i can fix it?
What's supplying power to the sata ports in the hard drive cage?
Chris where do you buy your parts and do you sell builds?
Im currently looking for a case. This case is great, but its too big for me. I prefer the original 011D, but my problem with that one is that the corner support bracket is not removable like this one. Thats my dilemma. My only other option is getting the NZXT H9 Flow case, but I dont like the placement of the psu in that case being the middle of the case opposite side the mobo. What are my options?
is it possible to use a vertical mount ? there is no screw on the pcie slots.
i can't find the sata port and power port for ssd on back panel :< my NMVE is 250gb and my ssd sata is 1tb but i can't find the ports so i can't use it
Hi all does the pcie .4 long white cable work with the rtx5090 or do we need to buy. Pcie 5.0 any help on this thank you
I can't install 4x120mm fans in the provided bracket. Any work arounds?
Do all these bracket and pcie cables comes along with case or have to purchase seprately
Thanks!
Welcome!
25:54 how much need is there for a fan on your hard drives?
Is overheating hard drives a thing?
Do you know what the max GPU length is for the upright bracket?
I can still get over the fact that the cable passages are gray, but damn why is the card holder black? I can't understand it
how come you have a negative airflow set up more exhaust than intake
Do you build these for customers?
No, just myself
Hi, based on your experience with this build, is it possible to install a Corsair Shift PSU?
Do they have that same case where the glass joints together but in a mid tower ?
