- Today I will show you how to waterproof basement walls with this GURU waterstop and Membrane. The first thing you want to do is clean up all of the walls to make sure that you don’t have any imperfections that might get them away. Next you’re going to use thinset to install the membrane using a 1/8 inch trowel.
This membrane can be purchased at

waterproof has to be done from outside
What if they want to make a swimming pool in their basement?
He did waterproof the outside as well I believe, in his other videos.
@@splanzza good point
@@Sleepless222 in that case wateproof from inside is wasting money
What happens to trapped moisture in the cinder blocks?
What happens to the water when it comes in from the outside? Balloon?
Thank you for sharing. Will this work on cinder block walls also?
What kind of thinset do you use for all your guru stuff?
Waterproof so you don't have water damage to the outside?
In case basement floods….🤣
Damn that sure looks nice !
Cement has to breathe. If u have water coming in ....what u r doing is going to fail . Drain at bottom , with sump is only thing that'll work.🎉
Can list the materials used?
Won't you have to do the floor too
This makes zero sense…..did they supply you enough so you just run around putting it everywhere? If you get water penetration through the cement wall it’s only going migrate down and come out under the banding….
Hydrostatic pressure will just push on through the layers. These membranes work in a shower/tub where there isn’t constant hydro pressure and water. Under slabs and behind basement walls can have water present for days/weeks at a time plus the hydraulic pressure behind it.
@@POLOLOUS3 if there was an internal weeping system to a sump it could work for a while, but tile thin set will only last a short time before it degrades, as a tile guy with some cement knowledge it’s crazy some of the stuff you see on here
The only benefit will be that it “looks” pretty😂
😮😢
This is dumb, drylok is easier and faster
Drylok....@ Lowe's? I'll check
