One day I would love to get to Hever Castle. This episode was a fascinating conclusion to Part 1.

vile to think it was the executioner who could have disrobed her to take her clothing as partial payment. that's incredibly degrading to the remains a former queen. I would have assumed that her ladies might have disrobed her before burial and then gave the clothes to the executioner afterwards.. at least I hope so for the dignity of Anne. What a gruesome thing for the women to have to pick up her remains and place them once disrobed in probably all but her chemise/shift in an arrow chest. Surely they had guardsmen do the actual burial itself. I can't imagine asking ladies of the court pick up shovels and prepare a grave.

I wonder if it had something to do with the Biblical story of the guards gambling for Jesus clothes when he was on the cross. They were so religious in strange ways then but I see them doing this

The other thing I am thinking. If you were King Francis, I certainly wouldn't have let my son marry into that family. The other kings saw Henry, kill Thomas More, and Fisher and the monks. That is why Francis wanted his son to marry Mary. That is why the other kings want Mary.

Sorry, Henry would never had dared kill Catherine of Aragon Because she was of more royal blood than Henry. Anne and George talked about his ed. The other men heard it. They all knew about his ed.

I agree. Katherine of Aragon was the aunt of Charles V, the Holy Roman Emperor, Duke of Burgandy, King of Spain, etc. Executing her would not have been politic.

Surely the only thing she was actually guilty of, and it’s bad enough by the laws of the time, is “imagining the death of the King” in her unguarded moment and the comment to Norris.
