Potentially cost us the ring in 16 with that nut hit. Then the kd thing, though i think kd was leaving anyway, especially after what bob myers said at the parade, like i wouldnt wanna stay there after that comment. However, green just made sure that kd would leave 100%.
But must say that he has grown and cut down on his antics on the floor and hasnt hurt us nearly as much with that bullshit. As much as hes cost us, hes also helped us win so fine, like his shortcomings (his temper/passion) is also what makes him great. But this? No, not ok with it. Ur a vet/leader, u dont go punching anyone, much less a young player ur supposed to guide. Unless poole talked shit about his family or seriously crossed the line like that, theres no excuse for it. Not saying it would be ok, but at least its more understandable that ud lose ur cool in that moment. And well, i doubt poole went THAT far with his trash talk.
Ive heard this saying that as we repeat mistakes, the bigger/harsher the consequences get until we finally learn our lesson. First it was one ring, then it was potentially multiple rings with kd, and now it could be his money, rings/future with the franchise he helped build up and maybe tarnish his legacy with the franchise/fans to some degree.
Id say most fans have been willing and able to forgive him for past mistakes, but depending on how this all plays out and how it could affect curry and klays future (in terms of winning), it might just be final straw. Like yeah, we will still love and appreciate him, but now there will be this one thing that we cant just forget/forgive cuz well, enough is enough.

It was calculated to make money off of it. He wasn’t likely to get what he wanted contractually anyway. That was being talked about long before the incident. That may have been the cause of Green’s attitude the day of the incident. We all knew Poole was going to get paid. We knew Wiggins was getting a new contract as was Looney. All 3 are younger than Draymond. Additionally Green had a dismal finals in the first four games in which he admits that he allowed the Boston fans to get in his head and effect his play until a conversation with Steph got his head back in the game. Most players in a contract year put up their best numbers/play at their best. Green at the wrong time did the opposite and then compounded his problems by assaulting Poole. He provoked a confrontation and figured he would let off some steam against a non- threatening teammate and took it too far. The team continued to enable his behavior by his minimal suspension (preseason games) and a monetary sum that maxes at a certain amount. Their response sent a negative message to the young players on the roster and likely ruined whatever positive energy that would have carried over from their successful title run not to mention what it did to team chemistry.

This is different. Draymond called Poole his little brother . Their lockers have been next to each other since Poole got drafted. You don’t fire off on the lil bro. He didn’t do nothin when Isaiah Stewart jacked his ass up the other night but he punches his teammate??

People don't recognize that Green is in a very sensitive position so he can't divulge too much. But everyone should remember this: when he punched Poole, it was not as if the whole team jumped in to stop him immediately. They did step in eventually, but it wasn't immediate. There's more than meets the eye and the video getting released so conveniently is proof of that.
My conspiracy theory is that the management is trying to paint Green in a bad light so that they have more leverage with his next contract. Green not revealing more about the altercation is him trying to protect his relationship with the other veterans i.e. Steph, Klay, Kevon, and to keep the dynasty alive.
Everyone be thinking negatively of Green but honestly he has nothing to lose if he snitches on Poole/the management. Other teams will still pick him up even if GSW doesn't give him an extension.

The moment he slugged Poole in the practice he lost all leverage, video or not.

Why Draymond act like he still doesn't know how to answer the question about that video? He still stumbling across an explanation. Dude just keep it simple.....say you were embarrassed about your actions and that you should not have let it got that far. @4:55 Draymond we always see vids from your practices with Steph and Klay hitting millions of 3s

I love how people in the comments are acting like Draymond is taking ZERO responsibility, when he’s already done that, and apologized to the team publicly and privately. This explanation is his point of view of the situation several months after it occurred, so what is he suppose to do? Apologize again and beg for even more forgiveness? He already did that and explained why his actions were wrong.
Also, nobody knows what happened before the punch, what was said, who was instigating it, what was said in the private conversations between him and Jordan, etc. There’s a lot of context we arent privy to. Y’all act like these public statements are the only things that were said, when there’s a lot more happening behind closed doors. For all we know, Draymond cried in front of him, apologized to Jordan’s mother and sent his family flowers.
People just hate Draymond, because he’s an agitator and plays the villain really well, so they will use this opportunity to push their bullshit virtue signaling.

There are players, coaches and staff that are witnesses that were certainly interviewed during the team’s internal investigation into the incident in its entirety. The guilty party received a fine and suspension. That would be Green not Poole.

I’m dumbfounded by these comments 🙄 what Draymond is saying their was more leading up to the punch and the video only shows the punch to make him look bad.. which is fair and understandable considering his contract is coming up.. doesn’t mean punching Poole was okay.. but I’m sure Poole was adding fuel to that fire as well and that’s all Draymond’s saying

This was a veteran thing to do Draymond, you basically saying (For All the people violating him) "I'm just tryna win, the team's first, but that video wasn't as it seems, but exactly what it was, it made me feel like a violent player, with no teammate respect, but really, I understand that I was in the wrong, the story isn't out so... I'm not a victim, nor is he (JP3) It was very immature of me. I know I was wrong, but the fact of the matter is, I was mad and I reacted out of control. TMZ are bums and I dislike their platform, but I don't care at this point, I accept my responsibility, apologized to JP3, Staff and Family, I just wanna move past this and, we collectively wanna win and be a true Family, get over the past, JP3 will always be an amazing kid and player no matter what. Just wanna look past that and say 'Lets Go Dubs!'" - Draymond's Interpretation
Gotta respect his ownership of what he's done wrong and its great to see that he is reconciling with JP3 and the Team
