Duuude!!! Thanks so much man I appreciate the compliments. I will keep trying my best and I might get some of those views. Thanks for stopping by and checking out one of my videos. It really means a lot to see someone I like to watch on TH-cam see something I put my heart into.
Thanks so much! It's always important to play to the song. A lot time drummers including me, play way too much and don't let the song breathe. I have been trying to work on playing what's right for any given song.
What a cool video! I love how you are always experimenting and trying new things. Awesome job and I hope to see this snare drum tuned down again in videos to come!
Really great video, I liked it cuz it was easy to listen to you. Laid back with good production and decent sound from the 10" snare, low tone my man. Fine machine like playing at the set, the music was very good man. Congratulations, top audio/visual with yourself as the boss.
Dude that awesome! The bigfatsnare works wonders I use the original for my pearl 14x6 and it sounds great. Thanks for letting me know the size of Benny's snare
I have a cheap pearl poplar 10"x5" snare. Sounds fat and great when I put an upside down 10" head on top of the batter head, paid about $100 CAD for it about 15 years ago
IMO it actually sounds pretty good, deep enough for my taste and perfect for my future portable drumkit. i'm also looking for piccolo snares, so maybe i can try the lower tuning myself lel.
Looking at this in 2024 and I am considering the Gretsch mighty mini this could sell it to me ‘cause I have short legs and man spreading around a big snare is a bit uncomfortable 😂
Thanks for making this video. I’m getting a Gretsch mahogany 12x6 for low volume playing and still need to make it fat. Hopefully I can do it! Incredible playing as well.
I have a cheap 10”x6” snare by griffin and I can get different sounds from it. Made some changes. Replace the top hoop more thinker and also the drum head Remo coated control or clear block dot and replace the bottom snare wire more wider Now is my main snare. The sound is fabulous.
I am using Sabian cymbals, 18" HHX Complex crash, 8" AA splash, 22" AAX Omni, and for hats I am using 2 16" crashes and finally a stack I made out of 3 old and cheap cymbals
Great video. But having "Pearl" and "Mapex" confused got me. :D There are some great "Deep Vintage" or so heads by Aquarian out there, that really make fat sound. That would be cheated in this context, though. Great playing, also.
Vid quality is prime time. and the lighting is beautiful. This channel should have more views!

Thanks I really appreciate it 🙏 I'm trying my best to put in the time and work to build this channel. 💪 hopefully someday soon more will come
I LOVE doing this with my 10” snare😀😎
Great way to simulate a detuned 808 sample snare🤖

Another great video, Drew! I thought it sounded good. I love what you were playing as well!
Thanks so much. I really enjoyed making this video. I've been sitting on this one for awhile now and I'm glad it's finally out
Awesome snare sound!
Thanks so much I didn't expect it to sound so good. It was fun to hear the recording
Great video Dude. I like the sound of that snare. Just ordered a Pearl Artisian 5x10 snare after seeing this.
Thanks so much! That'd awesome man I'm glad my video could inspire you. I hope you love your new snare
with a band i tour with we use a Sonor 13x7, using a bigfatsnare donut to dampen the resonance, fattest snare ever.
btw the benny grebb is 13x5,75
Dude that awesome! The bigfatsnare works wonders I use the original for my pearl 14x6 and it sounds great. Thanks for letting me know the size of Benny's snare
@@drew_the_drummer we have a benny grebb in the studio, sounds amazing in every tuning
That's awesome. I play sonor and would love a Benny Greb snare one day.

That's awesome! It's so exciting to experiment and find sounds we like. Thanks telling me about your snare and thanks for watching!

I use a 10 aquarian reflector head, it's plenty fat. Also evans hydraulic heads will do wonders
That small cymbal you have on your right hand side sounds like someone sneezing 😂 love it btw ❤
Haha that's awesome!

Hey thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed. Don't worry I'm positive you can make a 12 inch sound way better than my 10 inch snare.
You can! Also completely detune some of the lugs to get it extra deep.

That's awesome! I've never thought about using a 10" as my main snare. Thanks for the comment!
Depends on what you call fat ?? Dry in its self can be fat ! Keeping those heads looser helps .
What's the name of the track that he is playing to
This is a royalty free song from Epidemic Sound. I can't remember the name of the song but I will let you know if I can find it.
dope vid! also possibly throwing a cloth over it would add a little more to the sound, pitch and thickness.
Thanks so much for watching! You are right it probably would have made a wee bit thicker
Yes, the most common mistake is to crank reso head.
Yep gotta tune those reso heads the right way or the drum won't sound right
What kind of cymbals are you using and what song was that
I am using Sabian cymbals, 18" HHX Complex crash, 8" AA splash, 22" AAX Omni, and for hats I am using 2 16" crashes and finally a stack I made out of 3 old and cheap cymbals
The song is called Falcon Crest On Acid by Do Vea
Great video. But having "Pearl" and "Mapex" confused got me. :D There are some great "Deep Vintage" or so heads by Aquarian out there, that really make fat sound. That would be cheated in this context, though. Great playing, also.
Thanks so much. Yeah I'm sorry about that I definitely ment to say Mapex.
@@drew_the_drummer Yeah I know how that is, talking to a camera. I just had to grin, that's all, no need of course to apologize.
Well I appreciate it. Thanks for watching the video.
turn that into hybrid tom x snare😅
Boy you talk a bunch
You did my son ! Sounds low for your usage !
