Is it weird that I personally like having my heads get dirty and worn out? I like to be able to see just how much I played by looking at my drum heads. I also think my vintage Ludwig kit looks better with used heads

my new drum came with clear single ply evans. On the 10" tom, they lasted 10 mn each ; I had to use the reso one that ended the same way: looked more like an open pit mine rather than a drum head...

On my uv1 14” coated head , the coating does wear off but I takes a lot longer then a G1 coated head
I use the uv2 on my drums
I clean them with a magic eraser and they are left looking perfect
I love it when my heads look like they are 100 years old (not a joke)

I saw that you live in an apartment style home. Recently, my wife and I purchased a house and I had to buy a Roland VAD 503 so I can drum because we have a townhome style house.
I know your upstairs neighbors suck lol but do you worry about others around you? I'm seriously thinking of returning this eDrum kit for an acoustic. It just feels weird but maybe I haven't given it much time. My issue is the walls and having to "sound proof". As if that truly helps when you're this close.
It’s crazy how even though I’m a guitar/ bass player I love these videos about drums. It’s really just great content and his older videos actually helped me improve my rhythm when playing. Who knew drums and rhythm were connected… joke… haha anyway love your videos man keep it up :)

Drumhead I need your help now that you’re a baller with Evans (congrats btw). So I only play Evans heads (loving the EC2 frosted at the moment), but I have a 23” bass drum made by DW. Would you believe the only company that makes 23” drum heads is Remo?! I’ve begged Evans to make me a 23” Emad and unfortunately they said the demand is just not there yet. I just need more folks to ask the same question that I asked! I would appreciate it kind sir.👍🤙🏼

great video thanks!! im just curious, have you ever really dove into the Tune-bot? they can be complicated, but very educational as well... just asking for a friend.
I’ve used the tune bot while working at GC! They seemed to work great! I’m not too picky about tuning though but tunebots can really help you dial it in.
Reminder that thicker heads (of the same size) can also be tuned lower than their thinner counterparts due to mass. Think of a guitar string.
Normalize using dual ply heads as a reso!
