    Yep, did that one about 2 years ago. Carmen Hernandez got me both the front and rear for either Christmas or my birthday! A gotta do farkle because the stock plastic reservoirs are so ugly. Ughh... speaking of my S3 has been out of commission for about 2 months. I gotta get the battery/starter cable upgrade finished and get her back together!

    It is not a front brake master cylinder change, it is a reservoir... but this is what I am looking for. Dam Triumph's dealer install lower clip-ons on my thruxon r without cutting reservoir brake line as on the instruction have told. All I have to do is DoItMyself. Thank you for this trick.

    where'd you order your reservoir from? i gotta find one for my 2019 RS. i already have one, but it appears to be leaking from the sight glass.. not sure if there's a way to fix it. sucks i have to replace the whole thing because of that.

    • @motofun72
      @motofun72  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That does suck. This bike was a friend of mine. I think he bought it from triumph.

    Hmmm. I wonder if there is one more trick that can be done to assure no air is left in the line. What if, before beginning, you pull the brake lever and tie it off. This way, the maximum amount of fluid is moved to the slave cylinder. Change the reservoir, fill it halfway, then release the brake. Fluid should return back to the reservoir, pushing any small amount of air that could be left in that section of hose.
    Yes? No?

    • @motofun72
      @motofun72  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, give it a try. However, if you zip tie the level pulled in (engaged), it “opens” the master cylinder. I like to keep the level disengaged to keep the master cylinder closed.
      Either way will work. In the end, it’s always good to bleed the system anyway.

    • @ElementofKindness
      @ElementofKindness 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@motofun72 Yeah, ya know, quite right. Me overthinking things again. Bleeding is so much easier on a bike, that I don't know why I'm avoiding it. The fluid in the clutch reservoir looked like it was in need of a flush anyhow. Just installed a set of Rizoma's. Thanks for the video walk-through.

      @@motofun72wrong. When you compress the brake you close off the reservoir. His suggestion is best. As is to just pinch the hose then remove the reservoir and fill. No need to bleed to the system at all

    You mention having just done brake pads and you aren't flushing that nasty fluid? It takes 5 mins. And it's a reservoir not M/C

    Thank you for your videos. I am getting ready to install front and rear new reservoirs on my 2013 ST-R. My bike has low miles (3500), so if I don't want to bleed everything out, am I okay following your 2 videos and not bleed the brakes? Thank you in advance.

    • @motofun72
      @motofun72  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but be mindful not to introduce air into the system. If you do, I have a bulletproof way of bleeding the system on my channel.
      I have a few videos on this bike, so check them out.

    I have a leak and its coming out from top, everything is ok , cap , rubber, but its still leaking, and probable cause?

    • @motofun72
      @motofun72  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have a crack, look closely.
      I have seen the rubber expand and not seal. Even though you install it, when you put the top on the rubber gets pushed in.
      Loosen the cap, slowly, and look around the sealing groove to make sure the rubber is in place.

    What do you do IF you do get brake fluid on any painted parts other than wipe it off?

    • @motofun72
      @motofun72  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually spray some kind of cleaner on it (something safe for paint) as soon as possible. Contact cleaner works too. Remember to put some polish back on too.
