Another of our "Old Farts" Tour with the group from Golden Grove Truckstop & Cafe Perique in Gramercy, LA. We toured Lula Sugar Mill Factory in Belle Rose, LA. on Thur. Nov. 14th, 2012. Lula Sugar Mill is 1 of only 13 Remaining Sugar Mills in LA. The Mill converts Sugarcane into Raw Sugar which is than Sold to the LSR Refinery in Gramercy which converts it into "Refined White" Sugar which you purchase in Stores...

who was the maker of the mill equipment? mill rolls, what degree of "V" are you running? 40-45-50-55? do you use Crownwheels to power the rolls?

According to my cousin Scrap Hymel that would have been made by Bancroft & Ross. Not sure where they are today? Not sure what drives the roller…

People would buy raw sugar better refined white sugar . I would less chemical!
