good stuff Charles! rmz450 was my first MX bike, I had it for 3-4 years, did a build on it and realize I cant handle the power :) but you are better rider than me, maybe one day I will come back to 450rmz. last year I spent a lot of time on 2020 rmz250, it was a great bike once we did suspension tuning and vortex ECU
Thanks Rado! Haha yes you can handle it I saw you killing it on the big bore CRF!!! When are you going to come up to Northern California and ride with us? -Charles // mXrevival
I bought a used 18 with 45 hours on it last summer for 5k with a new shock and everything else already fixed. It's a great bike! It took some getting used too coming off my yz250 but I'm happy with it. They say the rmz is the weakest of the bunch when it comes to 450s but somehow this thing is a holeshot king.
Most Guys could never use all that this bike has to offer and to get it for so much less, gives you money to improve it. Nice job..keep the videos coming.
Your exactly right about price gouging used bike prices are off the charts right now when a reasonably priced bike gets listed it sells in about a day while most are listed for months or never sell at all, sounds like you got a great deal on the RMZ.
It's crazy right now!! Man I sure did. About 11k is southern California new last few places I went. I get it though, I want then to get their money and stay open too.
Getting a crated bike is magical. I got a 02 CRF450R that way. My bro and my eyes were the first to see it since some Japenese person sealed it up. Awesome!
That's awesome getting a crated bike. I'm very interested to see in the end how much you end up spending total versus buying say one of those austrian bikes
Starting point is over $5000 gap! Stays pretty even too as the same mods usually find their way onto the other bikes too, keeping the gap consistent. Thanks Kyle! Loving my first Crate Freshie 🤘
I got the guys at the shop too dial in my rear shock and set the sag for me which feels good for me weight saving would be good. People who I have let have a ride on my new baby really love it's instant punch off the line it's a beast.
What dealership did that come from in Oklahoma? I live in Oklahoma and was just curious which one u got it from!! Ur killing the videos big man keep up the good work!!!
I’m right at that stage where I’m ready to do mods. I’m so glad I found your channel. Bike seems super sketchy getting up to speed, mainly in the suspension. I use to have a CRF250 and I can’t put my word on it but I could just haul ass and know what’s going to happen. Not to much with the RMZ. It’s still a great bike and I love it but I just need to do the upgrades you’re exactly talking about.
YES EXACTLY. You are on the money. The suspension, mainly, is the problem with the RMZ stock. It gives the sensation, in the back of your mind that- "ok I don't know when this thing is going to spit me out". Like your old CRF, we don't want to think about the bike at all. *_It's predictable._* That's where my 2018 RMZ450 is now. And hell yes that's exactly what we're going to talk about in future videos, very soon. It can be made VERY stable, predictable, and also not give the "spit you out" sensation. You will hit obstacles with ease & without worry. Also, if you case something or come up short, the bike will soak it up like a champ. No injuries or swaps compared to stock. You're going to like this series! Thanks for watching 🤘 -Charles // mXrevival
Go to Chad at xpr motorsports, and have him map a vortex ignition for you. My 2018 ran super lean and stalled all the time, and the couplers didn’t help. The bike actually ended up with 3 more horsepower, and more torque. Well worth the price.
That's rad- I know what you mean.... my 18 would "flame out" once in a while too. The 20 hasn't done it at all yet. I'll definitely work up to an ignition mod in the future. Thanks for the feedback Jeff 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great video. Suzuki guy from way back my first was an 1984 RM 125. My last on is the 2018 RMZ450 but not liking the way the company is going and sadly going to make a switch in 2021 but will always remain a Suzuki guy at heart!!!
Thanks! Hey, Suzuki just split their motorcycle and marine divisions into two different departments with emphasis on better development for each. That e-start & weight loss will come soon enough my man! You know Suzuki was always the first to the punch with things like EFI on moto-models & had body styles that were so ahead of their time that these STILL look good (2001 RM two strokes & 2008-2017 bodies!!!) 1984 RM125..... the bike and I are the same age. Thanks for watching! -Charles // mXrevival
Hi dude, Yes we can get them but they are EXPENSIVE as there are no aftermarket options. OEM plastics only. If you can tell me a bit more about your bike here (goes to my email inbox) I can continue to help you look: www.mxrevival.com/contact -Charles // mXrevival
I take it you are the type of guy who roots for the underdog, due to your love for the Suzuki, before I bought my 2019 yz450f I looked at the rmz450, could have had it for $6500.00 here in San Diego, I just didn’t want to spend the money to get it to my liking. The Yamaha was good to go.
That could be true... In the case of Suzuki I just have a big old soft spot for them after growing up around them. I've owned the new KTM's too- amazing bikes. I do enjoy a good value & then mod. Kind of like the old days I guess. So I like to tweak. Also, the rewards are hidden in the work. Be it the RMZ, TH-cam, life. 😉 That would have been a killer deal for you! The Yamaha is badass. My last one was a 14 YZ450F and it was great minus the lack of steering feedback it gave to the rider. I bet the 20/ 21 is so much more talkative in that regard. Super good looking. They all are, really. You definitely won't blow it up anytime soon!
Bought my 18 450 new here in western ny for 6500 bucks before tax they had twins and wanted to get rid of them so I bought her got to say only mods I’ve done is full bills pipes exhaust and twin air intake system so looking forward to learning what I can do to make it even better!
Hi Klay, When it's finished being built- I'll be shipping it to the owners of Anchor Hoagies: 1956 Lincoln Hwy, North Versailles, PA 15137 It'll live there on display!
Nice bike! A new four stroke is more than I can afford and I'm more of a two stroke guy. Only because I've not ridden four strokes a lot. My friend has a yz250F and yea they are pretty cool
Ahh killer! First year of the SFF (separate function fork) on the RMZ450 - It only has one fork spring up front instead of two. The other fork leg is the damping side. I would say that the first thing that needs to be done is this right here: *_th-cam.com/video/XL8Br7PzquE_/w-d-xo.html* It'll only take a few hours & costs under $20 to do (and free if you have the tools & grease!) That will start you & your new bike off fresh together. You'll get a good read on the condition of things as well as you'll KNOW everything is all good inside After that, the most important thing will be to set it up for your weight. Sometimes that means springs, and sometimes the springs are ok for the rider- it depends on how much you weigh. The key is to get the bike (any bike) balanced front & rear - then you can attack! There are several mods from there of course, but those two are most important because they'll make every other mod & change you make after proper setup, shine their best. If you need more help or info, you can check this out for the springs and balance aspect of things: *_www.mxrevival.com/product-page/rider-spring-n-grease-package_* And you can blast me a question anytime with this link too: *_ **www.mxrevival.com/contact_* Thanks for watching 🤘 -Charles // mXrevival

Very interested in this, what you have going on here, I've been a KTM fanboi since 1997 and I am just not happy with some of the decisions the company has made. I think the price point is now just ridiculous where they are at, and my wife said, "look at the Japanese bikes, maybe they're what you've been looking for." I looked up some prices and saw Suzukis so much cheaper and went, hooooooooooooold up what's the catch. Super glad TH-cam shot your videos over to me, I have some questions and perhaps they're in your videos which I will be watching whilst riding the bike this week. If they are ignore me, sorry. Can you make these so they have an offroad light? Is there a good spot for a battery to hide somewhere? I would be doing the suspension almost right off, like you suggested trying it out first so I can see the improvements.
Hi Gil, thanks for your patience on a reply! If you want an off-road bike it can be done for sure! But would probably be money better spent on something setup with e-start & lighting IF that's really the route you'd like to go. You'll save big on an RMZ vs other brands with no sacrifice in actual quality- but the cash needed to get an RMZ ready for TRUE off-road riding will put you in the hole enough to have just picked up a YZF-X or CRF-RX for example. I hope that helps! Glad to have you too 🤘 -Charles // mXrevival
How did you have this bike delivered to you? Cause I’m finding better deals across the country on these left over Suzuki’s and I don’t wanna drive for 2 days.
If you own a motorbike and you can't kick start it in one kick every time no matter what. You should sell it and take up golf.
