I essentially delayed my Backlog of JRPG's anytime I had an opportunity to play a Trails game. I'm kinda happy to finally be caught up to the English releases. From 2019 to 2023 probably 20% of my gaming time was dedicated to Trails.

Trails really hooked me, I’m excited to get through Cold Steel for sure!

I really wanna play them but they'd probably take a whole year to get through all of them. If I started now, it would take me until midway through my senior year of high school.

Man it’s a rough year for a backlog but this list is super solid. Star Ocean, Judgement, Trails and Blue Reflection are all super great. Good luck and great video as usual!

Lost Judgement is in my backlog too but I might play it after I finish the Yakuza games

Can’t wait for you to start Cold Steel, I love those games. As for my backlog, I need to play Baten Kaitos as well!

CRYMACHINA has some minor issues but overall I really enjoyed it. Based on your tastes I think you’ll like it as well. I’m trying to get through Nier Replicant and Like a Dragon right now. Backlogs always growing as they say lol

Gotta finish Like a Dragon so you can start Infinite Wealth, it’s so much fun.

I played through every Trails game from August last year to beating Reverie on new years (I did the endgame content in January) and it was one of the most fulfilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had; I can’t recommend playing CS 1-4 and Reverie enough.

I bought a ton of jrps last year. Fairy tail, atelier ryza, one piece oddyssey, trails games and more. I beat tokyo mirage sessions near the end of last year and started atelier ryza. I like crafting so it’s pretty good.

I love Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Ryza got me into the Atelier series, so I’m excited to try Sophie 2.

I want to grab Baten Kaitos as I never played it before and it looks great.
I'm going to play Sky 3rd this year. Little ways until Cold Steel.

You should start with the first Blue Reflection game. And the Blue Reflection Ray Anime. And Blue Reflection Sun. The series leads into the storyline of Tie Second Light. It's a really fun series to get into. Also the Blue Reflection Ray Anime has 24 episodes. And 24 Chibi mini OVA Episodes tht is all worth watching. And is very important to know before playing Second Light.

Just wanted to offer another take here: Second Light was my first experience with the BR franchise and I enjoyed it immensely. You don’t need to do a bunch of homework to enjoy and understand the sequel. I’m now going back and playing the first game, but it doesn’t get as great reviews, so Second Light is a great place to gage your interest!

@@adam_antoise You should also watch the Blue Reflection Ray Anime if you haven't yet. It's storyline is very important. It's basically what started the Ash Syndrome to rain down upon the world. Also if you didn't know Uta Komagawa was a Rouge Reflector. And a psychopath who enjoys pain and inflicting pain upon others. The first game. And the Anime is what got me invested into the series. I know anyone can start Tie Second Light first, but I'd rather experience the storyline from the beginning. Also when Shiho Kasuga said she used to have a different team of friends. And Reflectors battling against the Ash Syndrome, she was talking about her friends from the Blue Reflection Sun series that takes place storyline before Tie Second Light does. I myself don't wanna miss out on things that the Tie Second Light game mentioned.

@@brigadeleaderharuhisuzumiy8589 I’ve seen a couple episodes of the anime actually! It was good, I’ll get back to it after I play BR1. You’re spot on about getting all the lore for maximum enjoyment. But if someone was to only play one game, I’d recommend Second Light for sure is all!

Quite a few of these are in my backlog lineup as well. I'm trying to be disciplined and not buy a bunch of new releases until I finish at least a few more xD
But I will say, Star Ocean The Divine Force is a ton of fun, pretty much my GoTY for 2022. I'm a huge Star Ocean fan, and this one's probably my second favorite in the series

When I started playing cold steel 1 I dropped every other game I had and only stopped after finishing the fourth. Btw, it get's a lot better in cold steel 3.

You can actually start with trails through daybreak, just know that u will miss a few things and recurring characters. You can also play kuro 2 but Kai no kiseki is a definite no go for new players. Kai is not a new comer game, that game is starting trails end game.
