    Love ALL the content Dan puts out. I paid for a course 4K and it’s helpful but the way DAN breaks it down so thoughtfully, I am able to absorb and retain the information. As to AP Prep Service. They are located in the East Coast like Vermont or something. Rate are:
    Receive your shipment $19.95
    Storage: $39 per pallet/ per month
    Get you cartons ready to ship to Amazon: $19.95
    You pay for UPS or whatever transport you choose

I wish I have seen this video before ordering so many units since I didn't know about the upload limit before I create an expedition. Now I'm figuring out how to have the 200 sent to Amazon and the remaining home with a ff at gait price since In France I don't have a prep center. Thank you very much. You are really appreciated.

    You were lucky enough, Dan, to work with AP Prep? So was I. This Eric is notoriously hard to get hold of. This had a major impact at the time when my cargo destined for AP Prep had to wait at the customs for 10 days because the customs were unable to contact AP Prep. As a result, this cheap storage cost me additional $720 in UPS storage fees. Do you want to follow your favourite TH-camr's advice? Good luck.

    Great informative video Dan! I've got one question though: When production of 1000 units in the factory in China is finished. Would you advise sending 200 units straight to Amazon's fulfillment center and the other 800 units to 3PL warehouse? I'm sure you could make such a deal with the freight forwarder for a fair price. Or would you say it'll be more cost effective to ship all the 1000 units to the 3PL warehouse like mentioned in this video?
    Thank you!

    • @ericabbey6965
      @ericabbey6965 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is almost always more cost effective and far simpler to have just one international shipment and send everything to your 3PL center. Then have the 3PL facility send a shipment to Amazon immediately.

    Hi Dan, I watched this video and was willing to create an account with AP prep. But your guest did not talk about 79.95$ non refundable account setting fee. Is it new since your video was launched? Thank you

    • @ericabbey6965
      @ericabbey6965 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The setup is not new, but it's not a reoccurring fee, so we didn't think it deserved to be mentioned. We are trying to help sellers anticipate what the consistent month-by-month fees will be. We certainly weren't trying to create any surprises for anyone, so sorry about that. This fee is worth it; it reserves you a spot in the warehouse and covers everything involved in the setup of your account.

      That is true A K but freight forwarding can be quite hassle free. I recommend checking with your supplier if they themselves have a partnered freight forwarder or what they would charge you if they organized the shipping, sometimes they get astonishing rates and then you pay them a DDP (DELIVERED DUTY PAID) price which includes manufacturing and shipping.

    • @ericabbey6965
      @ericabbey6965 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, don't do this. It will likely create confusion. Simply give the supplier or FF the address of AP PREP, exactly as they gave it to you. Once AP PREP has your products, you can have them create a shipment to Amazon and they will be able to do all the labeling. They charge no extra fees for shipment creation and labeling too!

    crazy thing is for research sake, I went into what it would cost per unit to store say 2000 pieces of my product the 3PL vendor wanted MORE than the cost per unit it took to make. I was like, are you kidding me?! It was over $1.50 per unit and my product costs 1.38 per unit to make. Maybe I only researched the not so good ones but any new FBA seller just can't do this..

    I’m a new seller and will be launching my first product in a few weeks. I found a product that was a bit on the pricier side so I could order the 200 quantity. When would I need to order another batch from the manufacturer, ie do I see if it sells in the first few days then order as it will take a month to manufacture and another month to ship

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Pamela, this is one of the harder things to calculate, your re-order point. If I remember right, I cover this a bit here as well: th-cam.com/video/SzWRMQetrzE/w-d-xo.html
      In this situation here's what I would do:
      Order 200
      Send in
      Start selling
      When you hit 100 left in stock and at a decent pace (eg. 3 to 5 sales consistently every day), place the re-order
      You will likely sell the remainder in 30 - 40 days (depending on the sales rate)
      You will likely be out of stock for between 2 and 6 weeks, which in my experience, is okay
      Get back in stock
      Run aggressive PPC
      Get back to where you were (now more profitable)
      At some point here (order 2 or order 3) you will need to increase quanitity
      This will allow you to stay in stock longer, preserve ranking, have more profitable sales and then order even more
      Then, you can establish you re-order point more consistently (eg when I hit 300 left, I must re-order to stay in stock)

    Would we buy our products outside from the Gs1? How it can affect our business?

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi HAKAN! Do you mean buy your product codes from somewhere other than GS1?
      If so, what can sometimes happen is that the code is recycled and has previously been used for another type of product which can cause problems with the brand name or product type linked to your actual product when creating your listing on Amazon with this code.
      GS1 codes are unique and enable you to actually input brand and product details on their website, this way if the code you input on Amazon (when you create listing) is ever checked, it does match up to your details.

    Dan i have just one question I’ve been looking for answers to
    If I don’t have a brand or trademark or logo or brand registry, when I want to sell someone else product on Amazon, do I match the listing or create a new listing. If I create a new listing, is it considered plagiarism? And if I match it, do I need to differentiate my product from theirs even if Im not brand registered? And what if my product is better than theirs, will customers consider my products as theirs? There’s no brand or logo on their product btw

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Davies! If there's no brand etc on the product (it's not trademarked) or patented, then you can either list under their listing (downside is you need to win buybox and puts downward pressure on price)
      OR
      You can create your own listing under your own brand name. You will need a brand name, just create it as in this video: th-cam.com/video/zS8zvhrn0q8/w-d-xo.html
      You can choose to trademark or not (and brand register or not) that's up to you.
      I always recommend bettering the product and creating your own listing :)

    At what point the Amazon FNSKU will be obtained? Since Amazon issues them at the shipment to a fulfillment center with the creation of the shipping plan.

    • @DanRodgers
      @DanRodgers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      John you can get them there but if you list early then you can download them from your listing. Go INVENTORY - MANAGE INVENTORY - then on the listing concerned click EDIT dropdown - PRINT ITEM LABELS = you have your FNSKUs during manufacturing or even before.
      You can list early like this (PART 2): th-cam.com/video/Yxb9xN4KKv0/w-d-xo.html
      I do recommend you watch PART 1 here first though: th-cam.com/video/YyCKeXwN_dg/w-d-xo.html

      @@DanRodgers Hi Dan Thanks for the reply. I thought Amazon issues the FNSKU labels when the shipping plan to Amazon is made. So as you said above it is possible to get them once the listing is made. My stuff will be shipped after the Chinese new year holiday.

How to get the FNSKU if the shipment is going to the 3PL first? Eric says get the supplier in China to apply the FNSKU labels. I agree but need to get the pdf for the FNSKU from Amazon first. I asked that question at apprep website as well but didn't get an answer yet.

    16:40 - Does amazon makes sellers to ship FBA products to warehouses that are close by or within the state of seller's home or office? It seems no one has no clue or idea how this works, no body ever talks about this. Is it possible I can have goods sent from china by sea to long beach port in USA and then have the goods from long beach port shipped and stocked to a 3PL FBA warehouse near long beach so that the goods can be quickly for sell on amazon's website? I just saved like a month time from doing this rather than having the goods to be sea shipped to the east coast where I'm located, it seems its more logical to have the goods sent to the west coast from china and then shipped to amazon's warehouse shipping system near the long beach port. I'm sure the most best sellers and smart competitors are doing this.

      I’m speaking with Trademark attorney tomorrow Thursday, I spoke to a person yesterday preparing the paperwork for the Attorney, I tried to get my Wordmark with my icon logo, my word mark was written funny a little, I used Lookr , but she told me that it’s a logo and not a word Trademark, so I took off the icon logo and she said I can’t still because it’s still a logo because it’s little funny written, so I just told her just to use the plain black written Wordmark , now she said I can use it, but in the future if I wanted to change it to say the same but written funny I would have to reapply for a new trademark in the new look, but it’s a logo , it’s a logo regardless if it’s not written in plain text, Do you have any feed back for guidance thank you, I followed your videos but didn’t think this will be a problem thank you

      @@martinkrins3915 this is 100% normal and accurate.
      A wordmark is a "word" written in plain text and that's what you trademark.
      You don't want to trademark it in the fancy/pictoral way as a "logo", that's prone to change and easier to sidestep as well.
      As long as you have your word, I prefer all CAPITALS, then no matter how you write it, that's your trademark for that category of products and you can stop others from using that word in the same light, no matter how they write it.
      When you affix it to your products, you can 100% write it in the cool fancy way, it's still that word and therfore still your wordmark and still your trademark
