please don't forget, clothing works for us and we don't work for it. whether or not you return to your smaller size, you still deserve to indulge in fashion bc it makes you feel good. i've been recovering from an ED for over a year now and my body size has changed significantly and i also love fashion. i deeply feel for you and the struggle. we deserve to feel good in our body no matter where we are in our body, no piece of fabric can tell us otherwise.
Good for you for getting better!!!! That takes a lot of strength that a lot of people might not understand. I bet you're glowing with your healthier body and your body must be very happy with you being in a better position. You make a great point about clothing and I definitely agree! I also think if you feel lost within this issue finding your color season (color analysis) can help you feel confident in a way not related to shapes
Stop framing it as “what size am I” and instead “what size do I wear” I know it’s hard because of modeling and then TH-cam, you feel so pressured to be a packaged, marketable object but you’re a person!! And now you’re a person who MADE A PERSON. We love you and support you. Be kind to yourself.
Love this comment so much. I managed to squeeeeeze into my pre baby jeans but they didn't make me feel good. I feel better and more me in my size up post baby clothes. It's still taking time to adjust to being bigger but all of me is different now (inside and out) and I'm learning how to be this new version of me. ❤️
I don’t think she’s thinking that at all. She’s not like having a crisis because she’s a bigger size now. From what I can tell from this video, she is totally fine with being a bigger size. She doesn’t care what size she wears but the clothes she likes and ones happen to be in a different size right now so she wants to lose weight so she can wear those clothes. She doesn’t care what other people think or anything, she just wants to wear her nice clothes and not have to spend lots of money buying new nice clothes in her current size.
I don’t know why but something was so endearing about Tom pointing out “long time no see these mountains” hahaha 🤣 it felt like it wasn’t a condemnation or anything, but just like an acknowledgement of you doing something more like yourself and I don’t know - it struck me as really sweet. I’m so happy to see you all happy!

@@jacenebratzhauler9796 You absolutely can have a positive with a negative. It’s okay to be elated and troubled by the same thing (in this case motherhood). We’re all capable of a full range of emotions with every experience and it’s cruel to deny someone the opportunity to express that and receive compassion for it just because it’s something they wanted. Nobody knows what something will truly be like until they experience it firsthand, that’s just life. More importantly, acknowledging the downsides of something doesn’t inherently make you ungrateful for it.

Honestly, I’m a 33-year-old woman with my doctorate and have never wanted kids, but you sharing what you’re going through is so interesting and really helps me to better understand all of my friends with children. Everything you’re doing is exactly perfect, and from one woman to another, hang in there, sister. Your sharing your feelings and struggles makes a difference and is very courageous and admirable!
@Flower7 I think that’s a really good and fair observation, and another commenter gave a great response. Women take all different journeys in life and are often filled with self-doubt. I think one of the most empowering things we can do for other women is share our own experiences and insecurities, and encourage one another as we all figure out how to do and be our best. Lord knows I’ve had a LOT of self-doubt and have questioned my own choices, but how very brave for women like Taylor who are, outwardly, killing it in their industries to share their insecurities and self-doubt!
Your body and mind both need adjusting - you haven't lost yourself, just went through a big change. And honestly, you look amazing! Even prettier than before because you look so much more joyous!
But let's be honest, our body after pregnancy looks very bad, not sexy, not beautiful and it's simply disgusting. That's just my personal honest opinion as a woman. It takes a lot of time and work to get back to a good shape and feel well and have indeed nice body again. So that change it's temporary, because nobody wants to feel used and unattractive, that's why we work a lot for what we ve lost. Mostly women feel very bad after having a baby but many do not admit that in public. So lying that something like that is beautiful/wonderful is simply wrong, cos we all know it's not true. It's not nice, and that body makes us feel uncomfortable.
@@atsushisakurai7849 all bodies are worthy and beautiful, this is what makes us unique, we're all different, and our body goes through changes as we ages. When you are having negative thoughts about your body, it's not your body that's needs to be changed, but your mindset. Diet culture has fed women the message that in order to "feel good" or confident, we need to punish ourselves with diet or exercise, or whatever slimming products they advertise. It is so ingrained in our culture, it's hard to break away from the toxic culture.

You probably wouldn't believe how many people watching your videos are in the same boat and appreciate hearing your highs and lows in life with a new little baby. Being a mother in general comes with its own sets of challenges. Seeing Taylor persevere through such challenges is admirable in so many ways. She’s definitely come a very long way from being a model based in Tokyo to now being a mother. It’s also amazing to see her son’s progress. I hope Taylor continues to be more aspirational. She’s simply the best at everything she does so far.
Books and the internet make babies sound like machines with the routines and schedules. It's good to aim for consistency, but then let your baby take the lead. They usually settle into a routine on their own for a few months (and then it shifts). The first 3-4 months postpartum were the hardest times of my life (and while I haven't had a tragic life, I've had my share of hard times). However, it does get better, it does get easier. I'm almost 11 months pp and haven't lost much of the baby weight. It happens and can be frustrating, but eventually I think we'll find a place of acceptance.
I have a six month old and am a first time mom. I never understood how people could get babies on a routine especially with newborns! My baby ran the show and there was no way I could change it. I am waiting until maybe she is a year old before I try to implement routine. Everyday her schedule is different and its not like she understands what I am saying or trying to do when implementing a schedule. So i just follow her lead.
I’ve been watching you since I was in 10th grade in america. I’m now 25 years old and in japan. I’m also expecting my first little one in January! I absolutely love seeing people’s mom bodies 🥰 I have one, but lost my baby, so it’s a constant reminder that I am a mom regardless!! You’re doing so great and before you know it you’ll be feeling better about yourself, it takes time, but time flies

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and I’m already worried about the “after” part of all this! I did IVF like you and my husband and I are obviously so excited but also anxious for the unknown. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and read something’s that have helped shaped my mind in preparation 1. “It took 9 months for your body to make your baby. Try not to expect it to change so quickly after!” This next one is my personal favorite 2. “Your body and mind will never be the same after pregnancy and birth so stop trying to get back to the ‘old you’. You are a new, better version of yourself. Learn who she is and love her.” I know it’s easier said than done but these have been my mantras as I go through body changes already… I try not to judge the process but rather witness and appreciate it (some days are better than others). As for content, this video was amazing! If you want to incorporate more fashion, maybe share some style ideas that are versatile for changing bodies! I think everyone can relate to that and we love your style!!! ❤️ sending light and love!!!
It took 10-11 months for me to feel good again after 1, about 8 months after 2. I'm so much more mentally relaxed now that 3 will be here in September. Our bodies do so much, we have to give them some grace!
On top of that, that is really a “myth”. Not every women’s body “shrinks back” to its original size and shape. I was a big girl already. My boobs got really stretched out and saggy (but they tended towards sagging anyway) my pelvis was wider, my thighs bigger, my feet longer, etc. If you’re a petite person that may be the case that you go back to your original size. Don’t let that worry you. You need 9 months to “recuperate” but it doesn’t mean the size will go back too. It’s all normal. Remember that models and Hollywood stars make money form their bodies so they INVEST big time in trainers and additional support to go back to “normal”. But it’s a myth. Don’t sweet it. Enjoy your baby and your life. That’s the most important thing.
When my sister had her 1st she felt very lost and weird for a bit. She's a midwife now and she said a lot of new mothers feel quite lost in terms of their own self as they become a mother. Take your time! We'll be here for the journey
I HEAR YOU SO SO SO MUCH! I remember I gathered all of my pregnant clothes right after I got home from the hospital and was planning to donate them. Then every week I tried on pre pregnancy jeans and they would not even get all the way up ! It was such a shocker! I was heartbroken and devastated, like What did I do worng that I cannot fit into my pre pregnancy jeans ? For all of the first time moms, IT IS NORMAL to not fit into your clothes, you are NORMAL ! DONT LET IG models confuse you and create unrealistic expectations
Becoming a mom can be all consuming. I honestly didn't start feeling like myself until my baby was 10 months or so (he's now 15mo so not that long ago). I appreciate you putting yourself out there with your honest body and insecurities. Many new moms and moms-to-be need the realness
As a mom who tried desperately to "find myself" and "get back to who I was" the Best piece of advice I was given was to give myself grace and time... it took over 9 months, and everything wasn't going to snap back over night. Be easy on yourself. 💞

While I know nothing about motherhood having made the choice to never have children, it seems like you are knocking it out of the park! I'm currently 7 months pregnant with my first baby and I just want to say that Ive been really looking forward to your motherhood updates/Videos, It's so nice to see someone so genuine and honest about their experience! It gives me comfort that when baby comes I don't have to have everything 100% figured out! So thank you!
Give yourself LOTS of grace. It looks like overall you're really enjoying motherhood. When you get down on yourself, please remember how long it took you and how hard you both worked to get here. It's going to take time to get back to your new normal and self. But it's all worth it! 🥰 Your family is just beautiful Taylor. Though I have to say white seats and "family friendly" don't normally go together in a car. 😅🤣 Very brave.
Also, take this time to focus on your son! A child needs to see their parents as pillars of stability in the early developmental years. Your appearance will wait for you, be strong for your son! Kids not only absorb what mom tells them, but what mom tells herself.
I am a mother of 4 children, I think you are doing all the best things for you and your family. As everyone says, children do not come with instructions. I love that you are breastfeeding and I breastfed all 4 of my children. One thing I don't think is talked about enough is that breastfeeding does not help all moms snap back. In my case my body did not want to budge on weight and in fact I did not lose all my baby weight until after I stopped breastfeeding. It isn't meant to scare you just to inform you that it is a possibility. Btw, I think you look gorgeous! Oh, and don't worry about hairloss. You are just losing the hair that would have naturally shed daily if you hadn't been pregnant. It can last up to a year. I promise you aren't going bald. Postpartum can be as scary as pregnancy but you are a strong and intelligent woman. You will find what works and that there are just as much myths about postpartum as there are about pregnancy.
Yes this!!!! I too did not lose the baby weight until after breastfeeding. My body held onto everything!!! In the end it was so much better for my kids health.
I never lost weight breastfeeding, but both of my sisters did…of course…everyone’s body is different. It takes about a year to feel mentally like yourself…your body will always be a little different…you grew a HUMAN! Celebrate.

Don't forget when you breastfeed you lose 500 calories a day so think of it as a workout! Don't put pressure on yourself to "fix" things or "return to normal" its a new beginning, a new chapter, so take the time to just adjust and have fun with it. It takes 9 months to make a baby so give yourself 9 months to just adjust

I am so shocked with how quickly you are coming to terms with motherhood and the real truths vs social media truths. It's so hard for most first time Moms to deal with. And I know that you had struggled with it and probably still do from time to time, but recognizing that you need to find the new you and that you're doing the best for yourself and your baby is so very hard. I remember still being lost to myself when my first born was 15 months old! I felt like my whole identity became "mom" and not myself anymore. I even commented on one of your hair style tutorials some 7 years ago (7? Yikes!!) and how your fishtail braid was a game changer for me and made me feel pretty again (as opposed to the constant mom ponytail/bun). It's funny how even the smallest and simplest of changes can make a big deal when you're coming to terms with motherhood.....Great job Mama!!

I remember about 1-2 months after giving birth I had to go shopping for new clothes because nothing fit! My dad told me this was permanently my new size and I cried for so long after that 😭 but a year later I suddenly realized I was back to pre-baby size and could wear all my old clothes again! (I breast fed for a year, which really helped my body snap back). Don’t give up on those old clothes yet! Your body will continue changing for a year after birth! (Or longer depending on how long you breast feed)
Agreed, breast feeding (and lots of stroller walks) did all the weight loss "automatically" for me too. After 1 year I was back to my pre pregnancy weight.
My body didn't even think about "snapping back" until 6 months post partum. The changes started out slow, but they're quickly happening nowadays. My baby is 9 months now, and I'm getting back to my old shape with no dieting.
@Adora Belle it’s true that some bodies just change. The hip shape/size for example. I know of many women that never went back to their original size, so he’s not wrong and there’s nothing misogynistic about it. 🤦🏽♀️ A size 2 is basically an XS, if that was you goal fine, but I don’t even understand why it matters to fixate so much on size
Your boy is adorable! You look like your doing a great job. The first time I became a mom I was barely 18yrs. I had babysit so I wasn't clueless but I was somewhat nervous about doing it right. Then I told myself all I need to do is feed them, change them, of course keep them clean, warm or cool depends on weather. Also love them. After that I was never nervous. In fact I had 4 kids in 5 years & it was great. No help but my hubby what was so so because of his work. I'm a grandma now. So you'll be great with him. Enjoy the first year because it goes fast.✌️👍🤗💖

I had four kids and it gets easier each day…..stay in the moment don’t worry about tomorrow or losing weight fast it will happen gradually especially when nursing.
I am not a mom or anything but i really like to watch your videos, because i appreciate the way you show your body and how it really can be after giving birth and you just show normal stuff like strech marks. I just love how real you are with everything even just watching netflix when you could be more productive.
You have to remember that it took 9 months for your body to change, and it’s not going to go back super fast either. Some parts of it are forever going to different. You can definitely work on toning or losing a little bit of weight or whatever makes you happy/confident, but you also need some clothes for where you’re at now. You’re doing great. As others have pointed out, motherhood changes us so much, body and mind. You and your family look healthy and happy, and that’s wonderful ❤️
Take care and take your time!! Some people get their bodies “back” almost exactly as they were pre pregnant and some don’t. For me he’s almost 3 years old and I’m still losing hair 😑 I also have a GIANT kiddo so I’m just under 5ft and pre pregnancy I was 115 & 32 D. I had difficulty producing milk but I still gave it all I had plus formula. Apparently as a result even though I was eating 🍽 and doing “the right” things my body ate my largest fat supply which was my boobs!! Lol! 🤪 So almost 3 years later I’m 97lbs and 32B 🥺🥺🥺 The 2 things I actually liked about myself my hair and my boobs and they’re gone! 🥺 Buuuuuuuuut I got the ABSOLUTE COOLEST gift in return!!!! As for the weight loss most of it happened with breast feeding and I kept wrapping up until 6 months I think 🤔 then after he was on solids I intermittent fast I know you said most days you’re gentle on yourself and fine buuuuut it’s also perfectly ok to not be ok and or be sad about things not being the same too!!! You’re BEAUTIFUL 🤩 and your little guy will ALWAYS see you that way!!!
I relate so much. Never had boobs, but most of the fat in butt disappeared. It doesn’t matter in the scheme of things, but it was something I liked about myself 😂😂
YES!! don’t stay stuck on your pre baby wardrobe / size. Buy stuff you can wear right now or loose/stretchy garments that will follow you in your journey. It’s really important to accept where you’re at and feel good inn your body at all stages!

Honestly it doesn't matter what you do in the content. You go to a village for a blog, wear your hair anti gravity, dress in abdomen high boots, cook, dance, struggle-we love everything. I love watching you as a person, gives me inspiration and hope. Do your thing , we are here cheering!

I found your channel when I first started my IVF journey. I’m now headed into my second egg retrieval after a failed transfer but I’m so grateful for this journey and to be able to continue on this journey. Thanks for your videos!! Saaaaammmmeeeeee! I have a 7 month old, and everything you said was/is me 100%!!! You are doing an amazing job! I am so proud that you managed to do your first little vlog with Levi out and about. 1. Take it slow, like you said. Eat healthy, enjoy your food. Work on gently rebuilding your core. Breastfeeding uses a lot of calories. You will get there. 2. Try and get out at least every couple of days. Sunshine, fresh air and the accomplishment of getting up and out is so important. 3. Try not to obsess over sleep (I am working on this too) Your unique baby has his own unique needs and won't always fit into a box. Routine and general patterns are good; schedule is a hoax! There will always be a new regression, or leap or tooth that will disrupt it. 3. You are a superwoman working on your vlogs and being a mum! That is super hard! 4. Remember this new Taylor is incredible! She is a mum!
As a longtime fan, I've been through a lot of "versions" of Taylor :) I feel like the difference between your previous transformations and this one is that it was so sudden and so life changing. You've had time and space to grow into these previous versions of yourself vs you being thrown into this one so be extra kind to yourself. It will all come together someday even if it feels like you're so far from it. And most importantly, your audience will always with you no matter what content you make or what version of taylor shows up today. You got this!
I love that you made the effort to shop and dress up and feel beautiful in your body! It must be so tough, especially since you're used to being so fit. Be gentle with yourself, it will be back to normal in no time!
Buying new clothes was a great step for me postpartum. I felt like more than a milk machine and diaper maid for the first time in a while and it was lovely ❤️
The danger of being a first time mom wanting to be the best possible job is that you over-research and hyper focus. I think most new parents with a penchant for perfectionism go through that. XD So the whole sleeping debacle feels VERY familiair.
It takes a year before your body is fully healed and back to normal from child birth. I was told this by a fertility doctor . My daughter favourite toy was a spatula.
Please take your time with yourself! Before you have your first child, you have no concept of how much they change you. Not only your day to day, but what you think about and what you find interesting, and everything! Every mother goes through this. All I can say is, embrace it, and take your time! There is a reason many places in the world have such long maternity leaves. The fact you are able to be productive at something that isn't being a mom is huge. You're doing great. We'll be here still. ❤
Once you've had a baby - everything changes. That includes yourself, your relationships with other people, etc. As for clothes, you may or may not get back to your previous size. With me, it took 3 months after my first, a year after my second. It's been 18yrs since my second was born and I no longer am pre-pregnancy size and I'm (mostly) fine with that. You will have a lot of good and bad days - take the time to decompress and re-center yourself. You've got this. Also, do what suits you and bub - what works for others might not work for you. It might take some time to find that rhythm, but when you do *winning*
Taylor, you are such a strong mama! I just had my baby and am having similar thoughts and anxieties. Though I'm a few months behind you, watching your videos has really encouraged me and helped me to see and understand the beautiful changes that take place after having a baby. Taking it day by day and being the best mama you can while taking care of yourself is the most important. Your precious Levi is so very loved, you're a fantastic mother. You can tell how well he is cared for by how happy and confident he is. I know it's only what you show in the video, but I'm sure its not much different behind the scenes. The first months were hard as a first time mom (I was obsessed with sleep too haha) but things slowly got easier and after 1 year I was back to "myself" although being a mom really changes who you are, you grow so much as a person alongside your baby, it's the most beautiful experience! You are doing great Taylor!
Don't freak out, Taylor. You will lose the baby fat. It took nine months to gain the weight to create a nice environment for your baby to grow. I am afraid it takes some times to lose it. When I had my first baby, I gained almost 40 lbs. It took me two years to lose it. Keep your healthy routine, you will be back to yourself soon. It will get there, don't worry! Your baby is so cute!
Losing weight too quickly WILL CAUSE LOOSE SKIN! Collagen needs time to produce and replace all the skin that needs to stretch ‘back to normal’. Don’t lose weight too quickly!
Thank you for posting authentic and transparent vlogs like this. The mommy vloggers on youtube usually sugar coat their pregnancies and their parenting life and I think that adds to the stresses of being a new parent. I think you're doing a fantastic job, you look amazing & so does Levi!
Fellow Canadian and mom of a biracial child here! My son is a bit past 2 and we’re expecting a 2nd this summer ☺️ You haven’t lost yourself, you are simply evolving! It’s normal to have a bit of a grieving period over your pre-mom version of you. But from one working mom to another, take this as an opportunity to assess which part of you you want keep about the previous version. And for the rest of you, think about what kind of woman/person you want to be and push the evolution in that direction. Enjoying your authentic new-working mom journey content.

I'm almost 4 months post partum and it's been so amazing and so incredibly hard. Some days, I can't stop smiling. Other days I can't stop crying and overthinking everything. Seeing my little girl happy is the best medicine though ❤️
You're living the most precious moments of being a mother. We're all going to be here when you're ready, and you will thank yourself for taking the time to readjust, refocus, and find the enjoyment in creating content again. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Take your time! For me it took about a year to a year and a half to feel like myself (even if my body still doesn't feel like me, but I'm working on it!)😊 It was one of the hardest things to deal with mentally, I don't think we are prepared enough about us not feeling like ourselves after pregnancy. So much focus is (rightfully) on the baby that people rarely mention that hey, you won't feel like yourself and thats okay and it takes time to get comfortable with yourself again😊
First babies break you mentally and physically. I remember all the fears, goals, expectations I had for myself and motherhood and hear them coming out of your mouth. You will rebuild yourself stronger than before in most ways.
Taylor, you are doing really well, it's incredible how many mothering instincts we naturally have. It's going to take some getting used to but honey you are well on your way! it's different for all moms and babies. take your time and don't worry, it will fall into place I promise. I will say though, building a routine is very very important.

You aren’t lost, you are evolving, growing new roots takes time. Give yourself grace in this time, you are doing great mama. I just had my third babygirl 4 weeks ago and in that time I almost died from sepsis, developed a kidney infection and then mastitis, I had the perfect birth but my postpartum recovery has been ROUGH, it’s a long road. wishing I had a wonderful nanny like this. What a blessing!
Am 1 year postpartum and even tho I got my pre pregnancy weight I still got alittle mommy tummy and some loose skin still working on myself still adjusting my baby’s routine changes based on her needs and nothing is the same it’s been a hard journey and I can relate to how you are feeling the best advice I can give you in please take it easy and focus on you and your mental health I love your honesty and how genuine you are ,love from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
When I had my daughter I was born myself into this new life and you unknowingly mourn the previous you. It’s impossible, at least I found, to be premom Petra. It takes each person time to learn their new mode. Also don’t hesitate to get some slightly larger staple clothing pieces. You may slim down but especially if you plan on having more kids they become nice transition pieces. Mentally it made me feel better about stuff that didn’t fit bc then you still have lovely fun things to wear. I honestly don’t think I felt grounded back feeling healed and over the hormonal roller coaster until 6 months. So totally be gentle and patient with your self. Despite that you do still look as pretty as ever.
I remember the frustration of dressing my postpartum body. There were occasional tears of frustration and I remember the joy at buying my first new pair of pants. It was a size up from my pre-baby body but it was such a relief to have a non-elasticated waistband and functional pockets. It was like finding a piece of myself again.
I'm two years postpartum and I can tell you that it gets better and better, you will get your body 'back', you will sleep better and the anxiety will get easier ❤

It's hard been a Mammy. I think you will find your own rhythm and what works for you and your family. Never compare your baby to others because all babies are different and all babies needs change at different times. You look incredible. Be patient with yourself you just had a baby. I’ve had a difficult time with motherhood. It’s hard to balance the things you want for yourself when you’re so overwhelmed and tired. It’s okay to have bad days! It’s nothing to apologize for or stress over =] you’re starting one of the hardest but most amazing journeys of life and you will change and learn along the way. The good news is that’s life! Life is all about learning and growing and experiencing. You’re doing amazing!
You were leaps ahead of me when I had my first baby. Seeing you play with Levi absolutely melted me 😍❤️ becoming a mom completely changes who you are. You're still *you* at your core, but so much has changed. It's like the process of becoming a butterfly. You're still in your cocoon, figuring out yourself in your new role. We are so hard on ourselves, aren't we? One thing I try and keep in mind is that if I had a friend going through whatever it is I'm going through...what would I tell her? I would tell her to be kind and patient with herself and I would point out all the progress she had made. It's hard to see the forest for the trees, but do try and look at it as if it's your friend going through it. I think you are looking amazing and though things can feel tough, you have a wonderful attitude. :-)
Having been where you are before, actually three times, I can tell you you're right on track. From China to US, I feel so resonate about the lifestyle. I am so used to eat cold food right now, which has been criticized a lot by my family(esp. lots of doctors in my family). I guess it really depends on ppl's growing environment and body type, cold/hot food not works for everyone.

Hey Taylor, my son just turned 1 and I experienced EVERYTHING that you experienced with the body changes, I also tried to wear my husband's jeans etc with the same mind frame that baggy was in and it would work lol! The changes came as a big shock to me because I feel like nobody talks about that part of pregnancy or motherhood. It really helped me to go out and get a couple pieces of clothing that fit, I hated picking through my closet or even looking at it lol so I just bypassed it for a bit! Those pieces got me through the first few months and then slowly but surely I was able to start incorporating my old pieces that I loved. It takes time but the time will fly by don't worry

please don't forget, clothing works for us and we don't work for it. whether or not you return to your smaller size, you still deserve to indulge in fashion bc it makes you feel good. i've been recovering from an ED for over a year now and my body size has changed significantly and i also love fashion. i deeply feel for you and the struggle. we deserve to feel good in our body no matter where we are in our body, no piece of fabric can tell us otherwise.

Love this comment so much. I managed to squeeeeeze into my pre baby jeans but they didn't make me feel good. I feel better and more me in my size up post baby clothes. It's still taking time to adjust to being bigger but all of me is different now (inside and out) and I'm learning how to be this new version of me. ❤️
I don’t think she’s thinking that at all. She’s not like having a crisis because she’s a bigger size now. From what I can tell from this video, she is totally fine with being a bigger size. She doesn’t care what size she wears but the clothes she likes and ones happen to be in a different size right now so she wants to lose weight so she can wear those clothes. She doesn’t care what other people think or anything, she just wants to wear her nice clothes and not have to spend lots of money buying new nice clothes in her current size.

More importantly, acknowledging the downsides of something doesn’t inherently make you ungrateful for it.

@Flower7 I think that’s a really good and fair observation, and another commenter gave a great response. Women take all different journeys in life and are often filled with self-doubt. I think one of the most empowering things we can do for other women is share our own experiences and insecurities, and encourage one another as we all figure out how to do and be our best. Lord knows I’ve had a LOT of self-doubt and have questioned my own choices, but how very brave for women like Taylor who are, outwardly, killing it in their industries to share their insecurities and self-doubt!
What does having a doctorate have to do with it?
Your body and mind both need adjusting - you haven't lost yourself, just went through a big change. And honestly, you look amazing! Even prettier than before because you look so much more joyous!
But let's be honest, our body after pregnancy looks very bad, not sexy, not beautiful and it's simply disgusting. That's just my personal honest opinion as a woman. It takes a lot of time and work to get back to a good shape and feel well and have indeed nice body again. So that change it's temporary, because nobody wants to feel used and unattractive, that's why we work a lot for what we ve lost. Mostly women feel very bad after having a baby but many do not admit that in public. So lying that something like that is beautiful/wonderful is simply wrong, cos we all know it's not true. It's not nice, and that body makes us feel uncomfortable.
@@atsushisakurai7849 all bodies are worthy and beautiful, this is what makes us unique, we're all different, and our body goes through changes as we ages. When you are having negative thoughts about your body, it's not your body that's needs to be changed, but your mindset.
Diet culture has fed women the message that in order to "feel good" or confident, we need to punish ourselves with diet or exercise, or whatever slimming products they advertise. It is so ingrained in our culture, it's hard to break away from the toxic culture.

Being a mother in general comes with its own sets of challenges. Seeing Taylor persevere through such challenges is admirable in so many ways. She’s definitely come a very long way from being a model based in Tokyo to now being a mother. It’s also amazing to see her son’s progress. I hope Taylor continues to be more aspirational. She’s simply the best at everything she does so far.
Books and the internet make babies sound like machines with the routines and schedules. It's good to aim for consistency, but then let your baby take the lead. They usually settle into a routine on their own for a few months (and then it shifts). The first 3-4 months postpartum were the hardest times of my life (and while I haven't had a tragic life, I've had my share of hard times). However, it does get better, it does get easier. I'm almost 11 months pp and haven't lost much of the baby weight. It happens and can be frustrating, but eventually I think we'll find a place of acceptance.
I have a six month old and am a first time mom. I never understood how people could get babies on a routine especially with newborns! My baby ran the show and there was no way I could change it. I am waiting until maybe she is a year old before I try to implement routine. Everyday her schedule is different and its not like she understands what I am saying or trying to do when implementing a schedule. So i just follow her lead.

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and I’m already worried about the “after” part of all this! I did IVF like you and my husband and I are obviously so excited but also anxious for the unknown. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and read something’s that have helped shaped my mind in preparation 1. “It took 9 months for your body to make your baby. Try not to expect it to change so quickly after!” This next one is my personal favorite 2. “Your body and mind will never be the same after pregnancy and birth so stop trying to get back to the ‘old you’. You are a new, better version of yourself. Learn who she is and love her.” I know it’s easier said than done but these have been my mantras as I go through body changes already… I try not to judge the process but rather witness and appreciate it (some days are better than others). As for content, this video was amazing! If you want to incorporate more fashion, maybe share some style ideas that are versatile for changing bodies! I think everyone can relate to that and we love your style!!! ❤️ sending light and love!!!
It took 10-11 months for me to feel good again after 1, about 8 months after 2. I'm so much more mentally relaxed now that 3 will be here in September. Our bodies do so much, we have to give them some grace!

On top of that, that is really a “myth”. Not every women’s body “shrinks back” to its original size and shape. I was a big girl already. My boobs got really stretched out and saggy (but they tended towards sagging anyway) my pelvis was wider, my thighs bigger, my feet longer, etc.
If you’re a petite person that may be the case that you go back to your original size. Don’t let that worry you. You need 9 months to “recuperate” but it doesn’t mean the size will go back too. It’s all normal. Remember that models and Hollywood stars make money form their bodies so they INVEST big time in trainers and additional support to go back to “normal”. But it’s a myth. Don’t sweet it. Enjoy your baby and your life. That’s the most important thing.
When my sister had her 1st she felt very lost and weird for a bit. She's a midwife now and she said a lot of new mothers feel quite lost in terms of their own self as they become a mother. Take your time! We'll be here for the journey
I HEAR YOU SO SO SO MUCH! I remember I gathered all of my pregnant clothes right after I got home from the hospital and was planning to donate them. Then every week I tried on pre pregnancy jeans and they would not even get all the way up ! It was such a shocker! I was heartbroken and devastated, like What did I do worng that I cannot fit into my pre pregnancy jeans ? For all of the first time moms, IT IS NORMAL to not fit into your clothes, you are NORMAL ! DONT LET IG models confuse you and create unrealistic expectations
People think all the weight magically dissappears like celebs who are paid millions to get their slim figure back at ridiculous speeds.... nope
Becoming a mom can be all consuming. I honestly didn't start feeling like myself until my baby was 10 months or so (he's now 15mo so not that long ago). I appreciate you putting yourself out there with your honest body and insecurities. Many new moms and moms-to-be need the realness

Give yourself LOTS of grace. It looks like overall you're really enjoying motherhood. When you get down on yourself, please remember how long it took you and how hard you both worked to get here. It's going to take time to get back to your new normal and self. But it's all worth it! 🥰 Your family is just beautiful Taylor. Though I have to say white seats and "family friendly" don't normally go together in a car. 😅🤣 Very brave.
Also, take this time to focus on your son! A child needs to see their parents as pillars of stability in the early developmental years. Your appearance will wait for you, be strong for your son! Kids not only absorb what mom tells them, but what mom tells herself.
I am a mother of 4 children, I think you are doing all the best things for you and your family. As everyone says, children do not come with instructions. I love that you are breastfeeding and I breastfed all 4 of my children. One thing I don't think is talked about enough is that breastfeeding does not help all moms snap back. In my case my body did not want to budge on weight and in fact I did not lose all my baby weight until after I stopped breastfeeding. It isn't meant to scare you just to inform you that it is a possibility. Btw, I think you look gorgeous! Oh, and don't worry about hairloss. You are just losing the hair that would have naturally shed daily if you hadn't been pregnant. It can last up to a year. I promise you aren't going bald. Postpartum can be as scary as pregnancy but you are a strong and intelligent woman. You will find what works and that there are just as much myths about postpartum as there are about pregnancy.

Yes this!!!! I too did not lose the baby weight until after breastfeeding. My body held onto everything!!! In the end it was so much better for my kids health.
I never lost weight breastfeeding, but both of my sisters did…of course…everyone’s body is different. It takes about a year to feel mentally like yourself…your body will always be a little different…you grew a HUMAN! Celebrate.

Don't forget when you breastfeed you lose 500 calories a day so think of it as a workout! Don't put pressure on yourself to "fix" things or "return to normal" its a new beginning, a new chapter, so take the time to just adjust and have fun with it. It takes 9 months to make a baby so give yourself 9 months to just adjust

I am so shocked with how quickly you are coming to terms with motherhood and the real truths vs social media truths. It's so hard for most first time Moms to deal with. And I know that you had struggled with it and probably still do from time to time, but recognizing that you need to find the new you and that you're doing the best for yourself and your baby is so very hard. I remember still being lost to myself when my first born was 15 months old! I felt like my whole identity became "mom" and not myself anymore. I even commented on one of your hair style tutorials some 7 years ago (7? Yikes!!) and how your fishtail braid was a game changer for me and made me feel pretty again (as opposed to the constant mom ponytail/bun). It's funny how even the smallest and simplest of changes can make a big deal when you're coming to terms with motherhood.....Great job Mama!!

I remember about 1-2 months after giving birth I had to go shopping for new clothes because nothing fit! My dad told me this was permanently my new size and I cried for so long after that 😭 but a year later I suddenly realized I was back to pre-baby size and could wear all my old clothes again! (I breast fed for a year, which really helped my body snap back). Don’t give up on those old clothes yet! Your body will continue changing for a year after birth! (Or longer depending on how long you breast feed)
Agreed, breast feeding (and lots of stroller walks) did all the weight loss "automatically" for me too. After 1 year I was back to my pre pregnancy weight.
My body didn't even think about "snapping back" until 6 months post partum. The changes started out slow, but they're quickly happening nowadays. My baby is 9 months now, and I'm getting back to my old shape with no dieting.
@Adora Belle it’s true that some bodies just change. The hip shape/size for example. I know of many women that never went back to their original size, so he’s not wrong and there’s nothing misogynistic about it. 🤦🏽♀️
A size 2 is basically an XS, if that was you goal fine, but I don’t even understand why it matters to fixate so much on size
Your boy is adorable! You look like your doing a great job. The first time I became a mom I was barely 18yrs. I had babysit so I wasn't clueless but I was somewhat nervous about doing it right. Then I told myself all I need to do is feed them, change them, of course keep them clean, warm or cool depends on weather. Also love them. After that I was never nervous. In fact I had 4 kids in 5 years & it was great. No help but my hubby what was so so because of his work. I'm a grandma now. So you'll be great with him. Enjoy the first year because it goes fast.✌️👍🤗💖

I had four kids and it gets easier each day…..stay in the moment don’t worry about tomorrow or losing weight fast it will happen gradually especially when nursing.
I am not a mom or anything but i really like to watch your videos, because i appreciate the way you show your body and how it really can be after giving birth and you just show normal stuff like strech marks. I just love how real you are with everything even just watching netflix when you could be more productive.

You have to remember that it took 9 months for your body to change, and it’s not going to go back super fast either. Some parts of it are forever going to different. You can definitely work on toning or losing a little bit of weight or whatever makes you happy/confident, but you also need some clothes for where you’re at now.
You’re doing great. As others have pointed out, motherhood changes us so much, body and mind. You and your family look healthy and happy, and that’s wonderful ❤️

Some people get their bodies “back” almost exactly as they were pre pregnant and some don’t.
For me he’s almost 3 years old and I’m still losing hair 😑 I also have a GIANT kiddo so I’m just under 5ft and pre pregnancy I was 115 & 32 D. I had difficulty producing milk but I still gave it all I had plus formula.
Apparently as a result even though I was eating 🍽 and doing “the right” things my body ate my largest fat supply which was my boobs!! Lol! 🤪
So almost 3 years later I’m 97lbs and 32B 🥺🥺🥺
The 2 things I actually liked about myself my hair and my boobs and they’re gone! 🥺
Buuuuuuuuut I got the ABSOLUTE COOLEST gift in return!!!!
As for the weight loss most of it happened with breast feeding and I kept wrapping up until 6 months I think 🤔 then after he was on solids I intermittent fast
I know you said most days you’re gentle on yourself and fine buuuuut it’s also perfectly ok to not be ok and or be sad about things not being the same too!!!
You’re BEAUTIFUL 🤩 and your little guy will ALWAYS see you that way!!!
I relate so much. Never had boobs, but most of the fat in butt disappeared. It doesn’t matter in the scheme of things, but it was something I liked about myself 😂😂
YES!! don’t stay stuck on your pre baby wardrobe / size. Buy stuff you can wear right now or loose/stretchy garments that will follow you in your journey. It’s really important to accept where you’re at and feel good inn your body at all stages!

I’m now headed into my second egg retrieval after a failed transfer but I’m so grateful for this journey and to be able to continue on this journey. Thanks for your videos!! You are doing an amazing job! I am so proud that you managed to do your first little vlog with Levi out and about.
1. Take it slow, like you said. Eat healthy, enjoy your food. Work on gently rebuilding your core. Breastfeeding uses a lot of calories. You will get there.
2. Try and get out at least every couple of days. Sunshine, fresh air and the accomplishment of getting up and out is so important.
3. Try not to obsess over sleep (I am working on this too) Your unique baby has his own unique needs and won't always fit into a box. Routine and general patterns are good; schedule is a hoax! There will always be a new regression, or leap or tooth that will disrupt it.
3. You are a superwoman working on your vlogs and being a mum! That is super hard!
4. Remember this new Taylor is incredible! She is a mum!
As a longtime fan, I've been through a lot of "versions" of Taylor :) I feel like the difference between your previous transformations and this one is that it was so sudden and so life changing. You've had time and space to grow into these previous versions of yourself vs you being thrown into this one so be extra kind to yourself. It will all come together someday even if it feels like you're so far from it.
And most importantly, your audience will always with you no matter what content you make or what version of taylor shows up today. You got this!

Buying new clothes was a great step for me postpartum. I felt like more than a milk machine and diaper maid for the first time in a while and it was lovely ❤️
Cold isn’t just about temperature. The “heat” can be achieved through chemical changes such as fermentation and curing as well.

The danger of being a first time mom wanting to be the best possible job is that you over-research and hyper focus. I think most new parents with a penchant for perfectionism go through that. XD So the whole sleeping debacle feels VERY familiair.
It takes a year before your body is fully healed and back to normal from child birth. I was told this by a fertility doctor . My daughter favourite toy was a spatula.
Please take your time with yourself! Before you have your first child, you have no concept of how much they change you. Not only your day to day, but what you think about and what you find interesting, and everything! Every mother goes through this. All I can say is, embrace it, and take your time! There is a reason many places in the world have such long maternity leaves. The fact you are able to be productive at something that isn't being a mom is huge. You're doing great. We'll be here still. ❤

Once you've had a baby - everything changes. That includes yourself, your relationships with other people, etc.
As for clothes, you may or may not get back to your previous size. With me, it took 3 months after my first, a year after my second. It's been 18yrs since my second was born and I no longer am pre-pregnancy size and I'm (mostly) fine with that.
You will have a lot of good and bad days - take the time to decompress and re-center yourself. You've got this.
Also, do what suits you and bub - what works for others might not work for you. It might take some time to find that rhythm, but when you do *winning*
Taylor, you are such a strong mama! I just had my baby and am having similar thoughts and anxieties. Though I'm a few months behind you, watching your videos has really encouraged me and helped me to see and understand the beautiful changes that take place after having a baby. Taking it day by day and being the best mama you can while taking care of yourself is the most important. Your precious Levi is so very loved, you're a fantastic mother. You can tell how well he is cared for by how happy and confident he is. I know it's only what you show in the video, but I'm sure its not much different behind the scenes.

The first months were hard as a first time mom (I was obsessed with sleep too haha) but things slowly got easier and after 1 year I was back to "myself" although being a mom really changes who you are, you grow so much as a person alongside your baby, it's the most beautiful experience! You are doing great Taylor!
Don't freak out, Taylor. You will lose the baby fat. It took nine months to gain the weight to create a nice environment for your baby to grow. I am afraid it takes some times to lose it. When I had my first baby, I gained almost 40 lbs. It took me two years to lose it. Keep your healthy routine, you will be back to yourself soon. It will get there, don't worry! Your baby is so cute!
Losing weight too quickly WILL CAUSE LOOSE SKIN! Collagen needs time to produce and replace all the skin that needs to stretch ‘back to normal’. Don’t lose weight too quickly!
Thank you for posting authentic and transparent vlogs like this. The mommy vloggers on youtube usually sugar coat their pregnancies and their parenting life and I think that adds to the stresses of being a new parent. I think you're doing a fantastic job, you look amazing & so does Levi!

OMG Taylor, I have a 10 month old and you totally bring me back to those days with a 3 month old! I'm almost 4 months post partum and it's been so amazing and so incredibly hard. Some days, I can't stop smiling. Other days I can't stop crying and overthinking everything. Seeing my little girl happy is the best medicine though ❤️
You're living the most precious moments of being a mother. We're all going to be here when you're ready, and you will thank yourself for taking the time to readjust, refocus, and find the enjoyment in creating content again. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Take your time! For me it took about a year to a year and a half to feel like myself (even if my body still doesn't feel like me, but I'm working on it!)😊 It was one of the hardest things to deal with mentally, I don't think we are prepared enough about us not feeling like ourselves after pregnancy. So much focus is (rightfully) on the baby that people rarely mention that hey, you won't feel like yourself and thats okay and it takes time to get comfortable with yourself again😊
First babies break you mentally and physically. I remember all the fears, goals, expectations I had for myself and motherhood and hear them coming out of your mouth. You will rebuild yourself stronger than before in most ways.
Taylor, you are doing really well, it's incredible how many mothering instincts we naturally have. It's going to take some getting used to but honey you are well on your way! it's different for all moms and babies. take your time and don't worry, it will fall into place I promise. I will say though, building a routine is very very important.
When I try IVF,you were always my energy.

I just had my third babygirl 4 weeks ago and in that time I almost died from sepsis, developed a kidney infection and then mastitis, I had the perfect birth but my postpartum recovery has been ROUGH, it’s a long road. wishing I had a wonderful nanny like this. What a blessing!

Am 1 year postpartum and even tho I got my pre pregnancy weight I still got alittle mommy tummy and some loose skin still working on myself still adjusting my baby’s routine changes based on her needs and nothing is the same it’s been a hard journey and I can relate to how you are feeling the best advice I can give you in please take it easy and focus on you and your mental health I love your honesty and how genuine you are ,love from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
When I had my daughter I was born myself into this new life and you unknowingly mourn the previous you. It’s impossible, at least I found, to be premom Petra. It takes each person time to learn their new mode. Also don’t hesitate to get some slightly larger staple clothing pieces. You may slim down but especially if you plan on having more kids they become nice transition pieces. Mentally it made me feel better about stuff that didn’t fit bc then you still have lovely fun things to wear. I honestly don’t think I felt grounded back feeling healed and over the hormonal roller coaster until 6 months. So totally be gentle and patient with your self. Despite that you do still look as pretty as ever.
I remember the frustration of dressing my postpartum body. There were occasional tears of frustration and I remember the joy at buying my first new pair of pants. It was a size up from my pre-baby body but it was such a relief to have a non-elasticated waistband and functional pockets. It was like finding a piece of myself again.

It's hard been a Mammy. I think you will find your own rhythm and what works for you and your family. I’ve had a difficult time with motherhood. It’s hard to balance the things you want for yourself when you’re so overwhelmed and tired. It’s okay to have bad days! It’s nothing to apologize for or stress over =] you’re starting one of the hardest but most amazing journeys of life and you will change and learn along the way. The good news is that’s life! Life is all about learning and growing and experiencing. You’re doing amazing!
You were leaps ahead of me when I had my first baby. Seeing you play with Levi absolutely melted me 😍❤️ becoming a mom completely changes who you are. You're still *you* at your core, but so much has changed. It's like the process of becoming a butterfly. You're still in your cocoon, figuring out yourself in your new role.
Also, that black romper/outfit you wore out to lunch with Carol was sooooo cuuuuuuttteee!!! You looked confident and comfortable! You got this Mama!
We are so hard on ourselves, aren't we? One thing I try and keep in mind is that if I had a friend going through whatever it is I'm going through...what would I tell her? I would tell her to be kind and patient with herself and I would point out all the progress she had made. It's hard to see the forest for the trees, but do try and look at it as if it's your friend going through it. I think you are looking amazing and though things can feel tough, you have a wonderful attitude. :-)
Having been where you are before, actually three times, I can tell you you're right on track. From China to US, I feel so resonate about the lifestyle. I am so used to eat cold food right now, which has been criticized a lot by my family(esp. lots of doctors in my family). I guess it really depends on ppl's growing environment and body type, cold/hot food not works for everyone.

Hey Taylor, my son just turned 1 and I experienced EVERYTHING that you experienced with the body changes, I also tried to wear my husband's jeans etc with the same mind frame that baggy was in and it would work lol! The changes came as a big shock to me because I feel like nobody talks about that part of pregnancy or motherhood. It really helped me to go out and get a couple pieces of clothing that fit, I hated picking through my closet or even looking at it lol so I just bypassed it for a bit! Those pieces got me through the first few months and then slowly but surely I was able to start incorporating my old pieces that I loved. It takes time but the time will fly by don't worry
I know exactly who you are now .... you are a mother, a perfect mother. Lovely to see this with all the reality of the ups and downs that all parents go through. He is such a beautiful, happy and chatty wee man is a complete munchkin. I love your energy with Carol, its so easy to tell how comfortable you are with each other. You make each other laugh and just have really good compatibility. Having such a healthy relationship environment is so good for the mental health. Parenting is a learning process, you're doing just fine and will learn along the way.

I do feel you should get clothes to fit your now body cause it's the clothes problem, not a body problem. I loooved the outfits you put together.
