These videos have been really healing for me in a weird way. I actually have no desire to be a mother right now but I lost my mom about 3 years ago to cancer and there is something about watching a mother love and care for her child so purely that is truly healing my soul ❤️ You are a Goddess and I admire every mother who is raising a child with so much love

Same. My parent are alive but I feel like I dealt with what is termed "childhood emotional neglect" so often stuff like this is incredibly triggering for me. BUT - it's also helping me explore a different lens of motherhood and maybe can heal some things for me too.

My oldest had a “flat head” and I worried about it for 6 months until I looked at my husband’s head and it was just as flat and tall! Often it’s genetic but our heads are hidden by hair as grown ups.

@@Moon_lulu it’s really great that you are planning ahead and asking questions to prepare yourself to be the best mom when that time comes for you. I have an almost 15 year old daughter that was a 24 week preemie. Because of that I researched and practiced attachment parenting. I now have a very secure, healthy happy child. It’s quite similar to how Taylor parents from what I observed except most people who practice it do more co sleeping than what I observed. Now I see Taylor is baby wearing now and that is a huge part of attachment parenting. I think you’d be interested in reading up on it. To start I’d suggest The Attachment Parenting Book (that’s the title) by William and Martha Sears it’s on audible too if you would rather listen than read.

But this baby is real person, and this baby will grow up. And I don’t really love kids… just babies. But babies don’t stay babies forever, and I don’t want to end up being a bad mom and not giving my child the proper love and care they need. Depends so much on the situation! Our baby was super sensitive to sounds as a baby, got better once he turned one. I kept getting the same advice and tried and tried, kept crying from exhaustion because people criticised me for being overly careful about sounds when my baby finally slept. So its not always a good idea! Whatever works, just go with what works and let's the mum sleep as well😅

@@Bunnybananabunny Being a light or heavy sleeper is genetic! So it really does depend on the person. If you’re a light sleeper - silence or white noise is key!! I love how much Levi interacts with the both of you. The excitement he has when he sees the both of you is apparent. And not doing everything you wanted to do is ok. It’s fine if you only brush your teeth or hair. Or just change your clothes. It’s ok. No one will be upset if you don’t get any of it done! For me it was always spending as much time with my boys when they were little.
They grow up and change so quickly, that every second matters. Before you know it, they’ll be all grown up. I have a 10 yr old and a 19 yr old. Both boys and I remember the day I brought both of them home. It’s amazing how quick it has gone by and I still see them as small tiny babies.
Enjoy it all, and don’t sweat the “small” stuff. There will be time for that. Each stage in Levi’s life will bring lots of love and adventure. You both deserve all the joy and blessings in the world! He such a cutie and reminds me of my kids. I’m sending your family lots of love! 💙

I found baby wearing to be great for the not napping problem. My favorite was the Didymos wraps, especially their ring sling and the more sturdy baby carrier. They are gorgeous, breathable, and sturdy woven fabrics, especially their jacquard and linen fabrics. It took him a bit of time to get used to it and took me some time to learn how to wrap them (the baby carrier is easiest), but once we both got used to it, it made my life so, so, so much easier. I could do whatever I needed to do with both my hands, and he'd just hang out, and often fall asleep. You could make a whole video about baby wearing and wrapping.

My baby girl is 2.5 months now and I’m loooving the new mom content! Keep them coming please (when you have the time, of course). It’s hard to do anything these days, my little one also naps mostly 20-30 min naps in her crib during the day too. Wishing you and Tom tons of lovely moments in the years to come! 🤍

Seriously so excited to have 2 videos so close together. (Obviously you do it when you can girl. Dont oressure yourself) You are doing amazing Taylor. Levi is perfect in every way. Just make sure you remember it's okay not to be perfect, to mess up. No parent is even close to perfect. You are such a loving, truly caring mother. Remember to take time to yourself and that it's okay to not be okay sometimes.
Happy to watch your videos and see you as a mother. You really are an incredible mama!

I remember the first months with my 1st baby 🥰 As mothers, we do everything and have the time to do so, which makes those such wonderful memories. With each child however, it becomes more difficult to be as attentive & meticulous with the little things, so enjoy every moment Momma 😘 Such a beautiful time

He is adorable! When my kids were newborns I would just do business as usual. Vacuum or blender I just used it even when they were napping, I didn’t want to change things up too much. I would just have a noise machine in their sleeping area. They could sleep thru anything 😂

What a great mother you are. Don’t worry about uploading or getting anything much done. This is a very intense bonding time for you and your baby and it will be over before you know it and never repeated (at least not with this first child!). It’s important to rest a lot, to not be too ambitious in what you do, to try to find time to take care of yourself. Like I said, it’s super intense and super repetitive, but this is the all-important bonding stage between mother and child. You are doing an absolutely terrific job, Taylor, unbelievable that you’re a first time Mum, you seem to take everything calmly in your stride and I must say your little Levi is an extremely beautiful, super alert and clearly bright little boy. It only gets easier from this point on - until they become teens (!) but you’re a long way off that, so that’s a bridge to cross many years into the future! For now just enjoy his smiles, learn what he likes, loves and dislikes, and try to provide him with new sensory stimuli everyday. Encourage him to try crawling, even though he’s still very young for that, and encourage him to begin to grasp small objects from your hand which feel different - crinkly paper, cotton wool, something sticky, something sandy, something wet and play and trace these different textures against his skin. Babies learn so fast and so much when they are stimulated and well done with the music, keep introducing him to non-scary, non-loud different types of sounds, music and instruments. The more he’s exposed to in a safe and caring environment, the more his growing brain will assimilate and the more developed and intelligent he’ll be. Try reading him some books which have different characters and different voices so you can help him experience all the different types of tones and voices he will begin to be exposed to in the real world. Nursery rhymes are great too as they often have funny sounds and repeated language and rhythms. All this will help his development and his understanding in a fun and stimulating way. Most of all, well done for getting through the day with a smile on your face. I have simply no idea how you manage to actually film some of it for us too!!! 😊

The stuttering and unintended words are "Mommy Brain"--a phenomenon documented and proving you to be a wonderful mommy. The amount of love and care you give your son is beautiful to watch and an inspiration to all. I'm so glad Levi will get to watch your videos of this someday. He won't remember but can watch later on. As you state in this video, babies need their mommy predominately in the beginning but eventually might seek other people. You deserve to be loved in return, the way you love Levi. I have a son who loves me as much as I love him. He's a "momma's boy." He's also an amazing big brother. The love you teach your son is the love he will give to the world, but somewhere inside, subconsciously he knows he loves you so much. What you show the world is what many mothers do for their newborns. It's a lot of love you (they, we) give. The reward is your child's love for you. He will not remember, but he will never forget.... Record as much as you can. Subconscious and conscious awareness are two separate things. Your son will love you because you loved him. But watching these videos will add consciousness to subconscious devotion. Record it and show it to your son at times when you feel it is right to do so. Tom loves you very much. You birthed his child because of that love. The love you give your child, your love will give to you in return.

I’m a mama of 5, and watching how good you’re doing with just your first is amazing and i wanted to let you know that! I do have un-asked-for advice😅 try a white noise machine. I tried this with my 5th baby and she took two 2-3 hour naps and slept all night. I put it on pretty loudly while she’s still awake and falling alseep so it doesn’t wake her. I was also able to vacuum and do daily things while she slept! You’re doing a great job mama bear!!!

  • @rsjiron1
    @rsjiron1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

He’s a doll! If i can recommend - get him used to noise and not quiet. Start with white noise or music. A friend would plug in the vacuum and let it run. You all will be much happier if baby fits into your routine.

Honestly you are doing great. My son since he was born was only able to do one nap and that's it. 😅
Don't put too much pressure on yourself or strive for perfection. Things will be in a constant flux, change is inevitable! You will find things that used to work not working anymore (like naps). Overall you are doing great and he looks happy and healthy 10/10 ❤️

I swear one day Levi is going to come at you with "You put on the Internet me peeing on a wall???" XD He is the cutest baby! Tom and you are obviously doing a fantastic job. What helps for flat heads is tummy time. Levi seems already so good at it! The muscles used to lift his head will tract the bone and righten the shape, so the more tummy time the better! You can also check when he usually gets more pressure on that part of his head, for example in the crib he naturally has his little head turned to the right side to be able to look at you, you can put him on the other side of the crib so that he will want to look at you and turn his head left. Same for when he's in your arms, if he's used to be against your left side, the right side of his head will receive more pressure, etc. Just a few tricks! Also what helped me immensly for sleep is the book by Elisabeth Pantley "The no cry solution", it just respects (and explains) a baby's natural cycles and works with that. It was a life savior for me 😊

love it! I would though get him used to household noises, otherwise he will wake each time when you are in a new environment or travel. The kids get less jumpy if you get them used to noises and it also means you can still go about your day without having to worry to wake them. When it comes to independent sleep, its a personal choice. Babies definitely love though to be with mummy, which is why they sleep longer on you. Its just meant to be like this from nature, but of course it doesnt always fit with modern life. every country is different. We had the kids in our bedroom in a cot until they turned 1, which was nice. but again, everyone is different.

If you keep the home to quiet, the kid will have problem sleeping with noise later. I couldnt avoid noises, because my walls are not sound proof. Kiddo slept through a fire alarm but woke up from daddy sneezing in the kitchen.
