Dr. Ralph Stanley's Funeral (6-28-2016) with Ricky Skaggs, Patti Loveless & Vince Gill

On June 28, 2016, I drove 500 miles to Coeburn, Virginia to say goodbye to bluegrass pioneer Ralph Stanley. His public service was held on the site of his annual bluegrass festival, The Hills of Home. Ricky Skaggs, Patti Loveless and Vince Gill all performed at the funeral. Vince was back in Nashville that evening on stage at the Ryman with David Grisman, Jesse McReynolds and the McCoury's singing a tribute to Ralph at the site where the Opry once was.
