SKL Khwai (Northgate) Campsite Review - Botswana

- SKL Khwai (Northgate) is situatied in the Moremi game reserve in Northern Botswana, around 2 and a half hours’ drive from Maun.
The Moremi Game Reserve is just under 5,000 square kilometres, covering much of the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and combining permanent water with drier areas.
Its habitats are surprisingly diverse, combining mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons. It is home to nearly 500 bird species, and a vast array of other species of wildlife including lion, leopard, elephant and letshwe.
At Khwai you’ll also find the Northgate bridge, iconic to overlanders.

Good afternoon. I have been to Khwai but I do not know this Khwai. The one I have been to is along the Khwai river and certainly does not have great ablutions that you speak of... where are you vs how does it differ from the Khwai that I go to that is run by the local community? Hi Christof can I do these trips with my 2x4 Amarok?
I just got back from Khwai about 2 days ago and, coincidentally, on one of our game drives we had to help pull a 4x2 VW Amarok that got stuck in all the thick sand. So, no. that would not be ideal. A 4x4v is always the best way to go; even if you have to rent it.

Hi, I ended up not doing one. My trip videos perform a lot better than campsite reviews so I’ve become very selective about doing reviews (as they still take a lot of work to create but don’t bring in the views)

@@wetwaterfish Paradise (RSV1) is nice, yes. RSV1 and CV4 are on the Savuti channel so have some views. Very open but little shade.
