Me too. I´m still wondering about a single guy, having more creative force than entire decades of mainstream pop-music. It´s another world of music. For me there is (until today!) only one album, coming nearly to that level: it´s "Chronologie", made by J.M.Jarre one year on.
+eikeharnischeh More of this PLEASE! Thanks for uploading this, great to see the musicians rehearsing together before they played this live at Edinburgh Castle in 1992, It doesn't seem real to me that this was 22 years ago, where has the time gone?
It was a private made video by Tom Newman, who stood in very close contact to the fanclubs of HIAWATHA GERMANY and DARK STAR UK. So it went round the fans in 1993. I have all this stuff plus more on good old VHS-TAPE.
eikeharnisch Would you please share the full video from the VHS tape to TH-cam? The rest of the world, even us Mike Oldfield fans would love to see it.
It came from his soul , that’s why it’s still listened to fifty years later .
That is such a nice way of putting it. Yep.
amazing to listen to all these iconic lines and melodies in their early stages.
Genius ! Poland Love Mike Oldfield ;-)
I had a thought... (not a new one one, I admit), Mike playing guitar? Thank you!
the classical guitar piece is sublime but so simple
Genius at work -love Mikes music
The Subtitle of this video should be "Quiet, Genius at Work. It is just mindblowing just what an absolute genius MIke Oldfield truly is.
It is so great to watch the genius at work!!
WOW! This is so cool! This is by far my fave Oldfield album
I prefer TB 2 over the first. Especially performed live. The finale of the first part is sublime.

Oh man I would have done anything to have been there to watch this in the moment. Even the mess ups are so worth being there for 😭😍
I bought that album the day it came out in 1992. I wonder how many times they rehearsed the full album before the concert at Edinburgh!
FANTASTIC!!!! Thanks for uploading
Cómo nacía la Magia.... sencillamente Mike es un artista exquisito, una lástima que no.se valore su música tanto como las basuras de hoy día...

Very nice. About the concert footage seen at the end of the video where was this?
Not sure, but it looks like a full band rehearsal for the premiere concert.
KNOPFLERSGOD Oh ok
Is he fully retired as it says on Wikipedia?
Apparently so.
Is that Annie Nightingale interviewing him? And what is the book they're talking about? Did it come out, and if it did, what's it called?
