      Korean society is highly stratified and the lower you are (like school kids) you must obey your superiors without question. Hence all the students stayed in their rooms as their teachers told them to and all of them drowned inside the cabins. Same thing here, mayor tells the firefighters to save the important elites and they had to comply. Turned out the socialites were nothing but ungrateful scum. It's similar in Japan but I think the constant unpredictable earthquakes and tsunamis taught the Japanese people to have more common sense and practical street-smarts than the Koreans during times of crisis. Rather than the conforming to the strict hierarchy and obeying commands to the letter.

    My thing is that tempered glass, that is the material used for glass bridges, can take a car's worth of weight and not be effected. The only thing that can really cause them to crack and break is a hard hit of a pointed edge, like throwing a rock or falling and landing on an arm with a watch directly in contact of the bridge.
    Those pieces of glass are usually several centimeters thick and encased in a layer of plastic(that is why in car wrecks the glass kinda sticks together and can be rolled back, it's a safety feature so shards don't go flying everywhere) which also helps holds the cracked glass together (also why you can drive around with a cracked windshield and the way to repair it is to inject resin between the layers of plastic, so the resin fills in the empty spaces between the plastic sheets on both sides).
    Basically what I'm saying is that the guy running across the bridge wasn't what made it break.
    The glass bridge was coming down due to the movement between the towers squeezing and pulling apart the bridge between them over and over.
    People can't do that kind of damage on their own, and there are so many safe guards put into structures like that, if it was build properly.

    • @duyvan247
      @duyvan247 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      tempered glass can't escape the existence of microscopic cracks that will become the center of a larger crack when under loads. Putting a load that weight the same as a car on a tempered glass is a hit or miss, either the load on the crack isn't enough to break the structure or the load is unluckily put on the perfect spot and it's shattered

    this B-Grade writer totally piss me off. Can you do some research before writing? a fire fighter throw an oxygen tank into fire? blow up the building as you wish?

      I think the idea was "blow up all of the fuel in one go" but yeah, that'd just take out the building...

    Well this certainly is reminiscent of the World Trade Towers in September 11th 2001 although the story line is somewhat different in some ways it still carries some simular aspects of what actually happened in the disaster in other.

      I have three theories.
      1. Ignition of gas pipes
      2. Poorly made structure
      3. Water pipes from terrible sprinkler system exploding & damaging the load-bearing walls
