- Half Time- change ends! Yes its 3 months since I started the refurb and it is now mid summer. I moved Brutus under the oak tree so that I can work through the day. - now comes the rear end strip and fix . The Stage One Series 3's are generally accepted by the purists, as the pinnacle of Land Rovers evolution. Series 2, 2a and 3 gave us a steady development of the world's best loved 4x4 first created in 1948. Thats so kind Tim- Thankyou. Its a hard life for me cos Im too opinionated and casual to be worth employing and I will NOT accept government handouts. Im just hoping tha Ive done the right thing and that Land Rovers will remain a good investment as I get older and need money. what I aim to do is start helping other people with Landy restorations, Make that fabulous folder and I can make door tops and skins and rust repair sections - cos here in NZ it can be a six month wait for panel parts from England
I agree Landrover Sophie makes a fantastic job for a youngster.
I've been passing on my knowledge to a 27yr old , he's now making a great job of doing things by himself and needs very little hand holding now.
There is hope for the younger generation.
I'm fifty this year and have just bought myself my first rover project after not having one for 10yrs.
Your petrol tank is galvanised? That must have been done when the chassis was because they certainly were not in my S111 109" in fact mine had rotted out at the bottom of the tank between the protection shield and the tank floor and no amount of sealant could stop it weeping. I got a second hand one from my local independent Land Rover dealers and it was from a stage one that they were breaking.
I just turned 54 last October and My body turned 84 with all the aches and pains of a 120 year old from all the stuff I’ve put my body through since I was 16, but it wasn’t till 2000 when my partner driving the big rig truck and trailer locked the brakes up throwing me out of the sleeper that my body really started slowing me down
Wait till you're nearly 68 mate! It ain't no bloody fun getting older. My mind thinks " easy peasy" on many things, then my body says " Fuck that for a lark" !
@@samrodian919 I’m already there I hafto take testosterone shots every week because my body doesn’t produce it and when they found out that it was at 35 where low is at 300 normal is 500-900 and high is 900 and up I wake up every morning with my mind saying oh wow what all am I going to do then my body says hey doesn’t this warm bed feel good

Great skills as always and interesting to watch. Checkout geoffrey croker on here as he’s doing the same as you in NZ. I restored my defender in NY last year and got plenty of parts from LR direct in the U.K, sometimes arriving in 48 hours! I know it’s a bit further but by the time you’ve made them it might just be worth shipping instead!?
Thanks - but COVID has us by the balls! I was quoted $630 us315 to get a set of seats out here- It doubles the price! There are 3 landy parts importers here but all want money up front and a 4-6 month wait. Im going to start making rust repair sections and door frames here to sell.

Do you have an external microphone?
My good camera has a flash external Rode video mic but for welding grinding and rolling around on the ground I use my phone - and yes the mic is a bit weird
