8410 with the narrow stance and 18” tracks is one I haven’t seen. Good luck this year.

I would also look into a Case Ih or DMI 527 or 530/530B or 530C Model (CIH bought DMI in the early 2000’s) Disc Ripper. Those Disc Rippers have a X Gang Disc Blade setup that does Twice the Discing and 2 Rows of Shanks, Lead Shanks and then a Set of Main Shanks, and then a Set of Disc Leveler Blades. Just something to consider.
When it comes time to Upgrade Disc Harrows, I would look Real Hard at the Sunflower Series 1433/1434, those first 2 are a similar Design and these last 2 Models are a similar Design 1435/1436 Models. Krause 7300, 8200/8300 Models are a Great Design. Also I would look at a Great Plains Model as well, Similar Offset Disc Design.
Those 3 Brands have a Offset Disc Harrow Design that helps Eliminate that need for a Middle Shank to Level the Ridging Problem of Most CIH & JD Disc Harrows.

Do you find this tillage regiment (flail-chisel-disc-cult) to be just as effective as power tilling on sod/hay? Why not just use the power tiller?

We still have to use the flail chopper before we can tiller so it doesn’t really save us any pass through the field. We are finding that the disc chisel is about as affective and it is faster and more fuel efficient.

Successfully killing Alfalfa requires going deeper than most power tillers are capable of
