Бить по шару кувалдой, когда вал зажат в патроне - прекрасно. Заваривать трещины без разделки и где даже не пахнет проваром - великолепно. Варить электродом с брызгами, когда на станке направляющие из отполированного металла - просто вершина.
Самое главное в такой сложной работе на станке, надеть халат с широкими и длинными рукавами и обязательно потом держать руки над патроном, а готовую деталь непременно нужно покатать ногами по песочному полу, это придаст ей дополнительную прочность и чистоту обработки поверхности.

Ну слава богу , я не один . Смотрев видео , при каждом ударе кувалды , стал понимать как настраивают шпиндель с патроном и как подшипники само восстанавливаются . А направляющие станка при сварке , восстанавливают геометрию, и шабрить не нужно . Все микронеровности заполняются брызгами метала и потом при движении бабки туда сюда размазываются тонким слоем , плюс окалина которая очень твёрдая доводит до идеального блеска направляющие 👍😀😀😀. Браво, с понял что институт я зря заканчивал !!
Да похрен, у них размеры плюс минус миллиметр, они и штангелем не пользуются в большинстве случаев! Пля патрон песдатый, а подшипнеги расходник, какие нибудь ширпотребовские дешманские ставят...
Sledge hammering will destroy the lathe spindle bearings. Where did he ground the welder to. The frame of the welder so the arcing goes across the spindle bearing rollers. Creating pits in the high precision ground surfaces. Not a grinder with a wire brush to clean the weld between layers
I mean they probably don’t have the kind of access to tools like us just going out and buying the right tool for the job isn’t an option sure they could probably learn better techniques but kudos to them for just figuring it out

я то думаю чего это заготовка бьет в патроне!? но после увиденного ,когда кувалдой херачат , стало все понятно,это патрон кувалдой центрующийся. обовсем остальном даже и писать не надо! верх технологии! самотык получился на славу!
I'm not here to judge but I'm going to tell you that what these guys do with what they have to work with is amazing, you fix things you don't just buy new parts you fix old parts and make them work again for along time to come. Don't pay attention to the negative comments I wish more places in the world fixed more things
I do agree with what you said about repairing things and maybe you are not aware but repairs like this are very common , buying that part would cost tens of thousands of dollars so replacing shafts , or ends of shafts is very very common . This vid did hurt my soul tho . Hammering on the part while it is in the lathe like that ,aligning it by eye , not cutting it all the way back past that crack .All of these things made me want to cry . But i know that these guys really have no alternatives and the machine this part is for is more than likely clapped out so this repair would be adequate

My issue is with how the repair was done and how they sledge hammered it into alignment BY EYE while clamped into the lathe and not properly addressing the crack . I also sad that the machine this rod is going on is more than likely clapped out so the eye alignment is probably good enough and that they are doing the best with what they have .

Original centering on the chuck is on another level on par with hammering on it. Machinery police should pick you up immediately and sentenced not to go closer than 50m from a machine. LOL
I was just thinking how off center that part was and then he busts out a hammer!!! 😳 I'm not an expert but that can't be good for the precision instrument it's attached to... It then shows how much more center the part is but now it's cracked! At that point you might as well cut the ball off the end and shape those two parts separately and then line them up after they've been cleaned up! I'm sure it'll hold up the way they did it though... 🙄

Those parts that are manufactured on those machines… are so inferior and assembled into worn out assemblies tgat it doesn’t really matter. The inferior parts pretty much stay in the country they are manufactured…. Constantly breaking down and ultimately keeping everyone employed.
As clever as these guys are with repairing things, they sure could of preped that crack better and they definitely could of done a way better job with the welding. They have a lathe there, they could of set it on slow as they weld making a beautiful weld that cools evenly and done a better job stitching the welds adding to the strength of the repair.
Ya know, for what it's worth, that's a fairly good Job. Considering what u guys have to work with. And I bet u a new replacement would cost far more and take even more time to get there. That part may last another year or so, till u got to do it again

Из за не прогрева метала при сварки шов крайне хрубкий, + как правило такие детали находятся под ужастным давлением, таким, что даже целая деталь покоробила ось и появилась трещина, не говоря уж о такой халтуре, а теперь представь. Рабочий день машина работает под адской нагрузкой, этот шарнир из за того что при нагреве метал стал хрупким ломается, гибнут люди, что дороже 1 детать новая или пару смертей, потери на судебные выплоты, + компенсация если строй материал поломается, а если и вся машина сломается из за этого? Представил, по этому заниматься таким, это преступление.
Я понимаю что у людей нет возможности купить новую деталь! Но ведь можно как-то беречь то что есть, херачить машкой по делали, которая закреплена в патрон токарного станка и потом ещё и дуговой сваркой варить...... . Не жили богато, нехер начинать- отличная поговорка к этому видео
Самое прикольное это то, что точил он только для того чтобы вывести шар в ось (в итоге просто отколол) но где была реальная трещина точить не стал. Можно было проточить по трещин и выпрямить, но видимо набивали цену на сложность работы!))
Там труба толстостенная похоже а не цельный стержень, до кучи они всегда шмалят максимальным током такое ощущение... Походит еще, опять же - приедут чинить опять к ним... АНевыгодно качественно и навсегда делать. - аксиома же! До кучи есть вариант, что видос ради хайпа и просмотров....
That may be the WORST welding “repair” job ever performed. It was like watching someone who had never done welding give it a shot. And we got a thumb’s up on that delicate sledgehammer work to get that arm in line! The grand finale was watching him try to polish that turd.
Sledgehammer on the lathe. That is good for the spindle bearings. Welding on it is another good one. What is next quench it with water while on the machine?

Idk if it's going to last long term, those probably have a pretty specific heat treat, but as long as nobody dies from this it's kinda cool haha. Edit: finished the video, and they definitely didn't weld it very well. Why use such small welding sticks?
Damn, it's so crazy to see the way things are done in other parts of the world. In the USA these guys wound be fired immediately and this repair would not be acceptable. The customer would refuse to pay. Also, the lack of understanding of simple things (like the fact that welding pulls the material so you need to compensate or your work will not be straight) and the abuse on equipment (beating on it with a sledgehammer) is unreal. Also, is the guy welding or swatting at flies with that rod lol. Also, they should have cut out the crack and welded it. Horrible work. Horrible technique. They would not be allowed within 100 feet of a machine shop here.
They have been hammering on that old clapped out lathe longer then you guys probably been alive. It know where you are coming from but hey, Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. That part has probably been repaired by the same shop before.
This is some of the shittiest excuse for "repair" available on TH-cam. But when you can't see the runout while rolling it on the dirt floor I must admit that it's obviously A-Okay.
You are asking for horrible accident being that close to the lathe head wearing a robe...😮 Also, never hit a part in the chuck with a sledge, you are damaging the lathe. After “straightening” the arm, there was still a fair bit of runout. You guys need to have some safety practices and learn how to weld- using a welder doesn’t mean you are welding. You aren’t cleaning all of the slag off between “welds”. Your “repair” is going to be very weak and not last. I’m sure glad we have OSHA here, but I still wouldn’t work in an industrial setting in the U.S. as there are too many ways for a careless coworker to kill or maim you!
Esa pieza se debe de cambiar de a hecho, su estructura se deformó tantas veces durante la reparación que ese metal no va a trabajar igual. Se acabará rompiendo del todo. Y trabajar de esa forma en el torno es malo para la maquina. Desajustas todos los carros con esos golpes y creas holguras en las partes moviles de los nonios, lo que hace a la maquina imprecisa. Soldar con el negativo a través de ella es malo para el torno a nivel mecanico y electrico e incluso puede llegar a provocar disparos en la protección diferencial o incluso provocar un accidente electrico si la instalación fuera incorrecta o vieja. A nivel personal les deseo todo lo mejor a esas personas, que son trabajadores con buenas ideas pero necesitan mas información, y con la mejor intención. Mucha fuerza.
Honestly, thist is not true. There is a lot wrong with the welding, like no preheat on a 4in thick piece of steel. The reality is that 12018 needs to be stored in an oven and only come out for about 20min at a time. 7018 should be in an oven as well, but 24hrs out is tolerable. Also 12018 is a very stiff material and welding another hard material that will be heavily worked, as here, you want to use a more ductile filler. 6010 is the proper rod for this bush fix, imho.

Boring the centre of the shaft and driving in a knurled pin, with the lubricating holes restored of course, would ensure that it wouldn't break at the welded repair. Straightening with hammer blows is normal procedure. A dead blow soft face hammer would be better than a steel mallet for that. If a dead blow hammer is unavailable then a brass mallet or a piece of brass between the steel mallet and ball would ensure that the ball wasn't flat spotted. Some post operative heat treatment and polishing may be in order. Good enough though. Well done.

not a good idea to weld pieces clamped in a lathe, possible to damage machinery electronics and Ground. Very nicely crafted and welded. Could have been finished a bit smoother.
В начале видео это был хороший новый станок, такой же новый как белый халат! Но после того как ебанули кувалдой и пальцем показали "заябись" стало понятно что работают профессионалы и такой станок им не нужен.

да наши примерно также делают, купил бу станок 16к20 начал дефектовку, а там подшипники шпиндельные все "на прихватках" пришлось менять...

Esa pieza se debe de cambiar de a hecho, su estructura se deformó tantas veces durante la reparación que ese metal no va a trabajar igual. Se acabará rompiendo del todo.
Y trabajar de esa forma en el torno es malo para la maquina. Desajustas todos los carros con esos golpes y creas holguras en las partes moviles de los nonios, lo que hace a la maquina imprecisa. Soldar con el negativo a través de ella es malo para el torno a nivel mecanico y electrico e incluso puede llegar a provocar disparos en la protección diferencial o incluso provocar un accidente electrico si la instalación fuera incorrecta o vieja.
A nivel personal les deseo todo lo mejor a esas personas, que son trabajadores con buenas ideas pero necesitan mas información, y con la mejor intención. Mucha fuerza.

Эта деталь работать не будет, нужно было отрезать полностью и приваривать трением (как железнодорожные оси) тогда будет отцентровано и без раковин .
Это идеальный способ. Но им он неизвестен.

7018 welding rod isn't strong enough for that application, you should be using 12018 rods.

Honestly, thist is not true. There is a lot wrong with the welding, like no preheat on a 4in thick piece of steel. The reality is that 12018 needs to be stored in an oven and only come out for about 20min at a time. 7018 should be in an oven as well, but 24hrs out is tolerable. Also 12018 is a very stiff material and welding another hard material that will be heavily worked, as here, you want to use a more ductile filler. 6010 is the proper rod for this bush fix, imho.

Boring the centre of the shaft and driving in a knurled pin, with the lubricating holes restored of course, would ensure that it wouldn't break at the welded repair.
Straightening with hammer blows is normal procedure. A dead blow soft face hammer would be better than a steel mallet for that. If a dead blow hammer is unavailable then a brass mallet or a piece of brass between the steel mallet and ball would ensure that the ball wasn't flat spotted.
Some post operative heat treatment and polishing may be in order.

not a good idea to weld pieces clamped in a lathe, possible to damage machinery electronics and Ground. Very nicely crafted and welded. Could have been finished a bit smoother.
